This was my second time making a project and this time I chose a less intricate and word-y design because those take forever to prep and paint and remove the stencil detail. I made a large, framed wood sign and did ombre paint which turned out beautiful! My friend and I were the only gals on Thursday night so we had a lot of help and guidance from the gal inside who was so awesome and friendly. We made small-talk with her, caught up with each other, and enjoyed picking our colors and options. It takes the entire time no matter how fast or easy you think your design is, so plan for 3 hours minimum, but it flies by while you work on your project. They have all sorts of wood crafts you can choose, trays (small or large), signs of all shapes and sizes, dog bed frames, blankets, ladder shelves, etc. etc. Summer camps for kids are also starting so check it out! Located central to the oceanfront, close to the interstate, and has private parking in the back in the lot behind the store!

I believe the items are all reasonably priced, but regardless it does feel goof to support a local business and local creators. Potts N Paints offers 2 locations - VB and Chesapeake. This location is convenienty located in a strip shopping center near Lynnhaven Mall with ample parking. The space is huge with lots of private tables. They have a huge selection of pottery with prices ranging based on size and a ton of tools to use - not just the standard brushes. On this visit though, my daughter wanted to splatter paint. There is a separate room for getting - literally - as messy as you want. A blank canvas welcomes creativity! Once suited up with a poncho, goggles and shoe covers, it's a free for all. You can even slingshot paint-soaked sponges! The even have a bicycle-powered splatter table to make cool centrifuge designs. It's a great spot to let the imagination run wild. It's a little pricey at $50/canvas but it made for great memories for my little girl. And she has a long-lasting memento to hang on her wall. Staff was so kind and helpful during our visit, offering instruction and guidance when needed. It's also a great place to consider hosting a birthday party, girls outing, team building event, etc. This is a fun place to spend an hour or two!

Things they offer. *Pottery-- they offer a huge wall of various bisque and everything that you can think of including glazes, open paint bar, stamps, stencils and paint pens. They also fire the pieces after you glaze them. So you paint them and leave them to get fired and then you pick them up after the items are ready. *Canvas--You can pick any size and pick whatever design you want to paint. They have predrawn canvases available, Or you can schedule a class. They have an open paint bar. *Clay--They have all kinds of tools to work with clay for hand-building. They also offer Pottery Wheel sessions. *Glass fusing art--They have a wonderful assortment of colors and types of glass to make a completed glass fused project. *Mosaics--they have a pretty good selection of tile and colors and wood shapes to complete a project. The best part about POTTS N PAINTS is that you have endless options of things to choose from. One person can choose glass fusing art and another person can choose to paint a ceramic plate . But, there was a sign on the door stating kids under 26 were not allowed. We did not see the sign upon entering. So the employee told us. So I placed my kiddos in the car... AC was on, doors locked. With that being said I was a little offended they were not allowed inside. They are well behaved. When we asked why, the employee said she was just following what her boss/owner said. As I walked around the store they do have ALOT of things to offer in the world of cross stitching. So if that's your passion this is a good place. The employee was helpful throughout. She was nice. But, signs throughout asking not to touch the displays, were kinda off putting too. In the end it's a good store for supplies, and patterns. Just do not come with kiddos.
