This store is the worst. And it's the employees that make it insufferable. They are absolutely no help. If you can even find them around the store. Mostly they are hiding in the back. I've never bought fabric before so I was really nervous, but I went about 30 minutes before closing and had the besttt experience with Christine! She helped me figure out how much to buy and was super sweet and helpful, she didn't make me feel bad for having so many questions and needing so much assistance during busy hours. If they continue to only have one person working the front they will go the way of JoAnns. I had an item that did not have a barcode so I could not check myself out. I waited and waited and waited. But I cannot stand that long (back issues) and finally left. The ONE person was taking a custom balloon order. Which takes time. they need more people. Before we even walked into this location the police were already outside handling a dispute. And then not even being on the store all of 3 minutes, a guy tried to shop lift walking out of the front door. He was stopped verbally by an associate warmth in that the police were already outside, so then he decides to walk back in the store and give a foot chase to the ‍ other than that, We pretty much browsed all of the aisles of this location. While this is still not my favorite craft store, on my last 2 visits I did find some really great Farmhouse décor-all on sale for 50% off. They also had some cute rustic wood signs in their wedding section. I placed an on-line order for p/u in store and it was ready in about 2 hours so that by the time I finished my other errands, I was able to pick it up. Nice. That said, this is still my last resort stop for crafting supplies because I think their selection is mediocre and the staff could use a little more training. read more

There's a reason they only have three stars I didn't even look at the other complaints but let me tell you my situation. So I ordered a $2000 item that showed up UPS they needed a signature I'm at work so it ends up going to Michael's Craft Store. This is where the problem begins. My notice says that it showed up, so I drive down to Michael's craft store, I'm pretty excited because I know I'm getting a one of kind snare drum. They tell me it's not there I said, can you double check they said they double check I pull up my notice. I even got the name of the signature of the person that received it. They said nobody works there with that name (I thought to myself "that's the last name you big idiot".) so the so-called manager comes out and tells me there's nothing we could do about it it's not here. I said you do realize somebody signed for it and she tells me which is a lie she says yeah UPS does that every once in a while, it's not dropped off I go that makes no sense. Well there's nothing we could. Do you have to talk to the manager tomorrow so I called today and it was the regular store number after she told me it was her personal number then they proceeded to tell me she's not working today that really infuriated me so I said I better hear from somebody at your store within an hour so I gave them an hour. They called back and they said that it never showed up that I need to get a hold of, the UPS store about an hour later she calls me back again and tells me that the package just showed up total lie. I know what happened. I figured it all out. They had the wrong name on the box the whole time when UPS drop off a package they put in big letters the last name, and there was another last name on the box and they probably put my name after the fact poor service I don't know what their craft store is like. I don't do crafts but I tell you what UPS AUTO revoke the privilege of having packages there. read more

I decided to get a Cricut Air 2 and a heating press, plus all the papers, vinyls and tools. Almost $700.00 total cost. When I got home I opened the heat press and noticed it was the wrong color. I called the store for an exchange and their reply was: "if the box was open, no exchanges or refunds". Sad news. Today I get an email that tells me the Cricut Air 2 was on sale for $167.00. Over $60.00 difference. I called the store and they told me that they would refund the difference if it was within 7 days. The email came on the 8th day. So again I struck out. I had an online return, but only had my online receipt. I was told I could get store credit since I didn't have the packing invoice, which I was ok with. The item rang up less than I had paid for it and I asked for it to be corrected. The "manager" Kenya told me she couldn't do that and I was explaining to her that I had proof of the price paid and even the order number. She told me to call customer care and request a copy and come back. I let her know that was a huge inconvenience to me as a customer, and that most places these days accept proof of purchase. Customer service was closed since it was the evening time, so I had no luck. I looked up Michaels return policy online and found: Without a Receipt (In Stores): If you would like to return an item (excluding sample products) but do not have the receipt (packing slip or confirmation email), you will be required to present a valid photo ID (Acceptable forms of ID include U.S., Canada or Mexico Driver's License, U.S. state-issued ID, Canadian Provincial ID, Passport or U.S. Military ID). Michaels will make every attempt to assist in locating a receipt by offering receipt look-up for online or in-store purchases made with your Michaels Rewards number. For receipts located, returns will follow the Return with Receipt method. The item value will be verified and retained by the Michaels team member. I had the confirmation email and I had the order in my app purchase history. I went back to the associate that originally helped me and explained to her that they should be able to get my receipt for me and read their policy. She called Kenya back over (by the way I had to get her name from someone else since she initially refused to tell me her name) Kenya finally did a manager over ride for the price and placed it on a merchandise store credit card. The lack of customer service that Kenya provided and the lack of initiative she took to resolve the issue for a customer was appalling. I've been in retail customer serine for over 15 years, most of that multi-unit and I could never imagine my staff trying to 1. make a customer jump through hoops to resolve an issue 2. having to be educated on a company policy by a customer via our website. Kenya should not be in management. She had attitude from the moment the associate called her over to "help" with the situation. After over 45 minutes she over rode the price, she had the ability to help me, she simply chose not to. read more

I love this Michaels. It's a little out of the way for me but it has a good selection of everything and they are very helpful. Recently I had gone around to a few craft stores looking for split ring pliers and wasn't able to find them. Ordered two 11x8.5 matted (11x14 unmatted) picture frames that costed $12.00 each, total $26.16 online (proof of receipt by PayPal). Picked up the item via curbside due to covid. Sales associate was in a rush since there were supposedly a lot of customers, and did not give me my physical receipt and immediately left. This caused much of a nuisance when I tried to return the frames. Consumers, please be aware of how much you are being charged online (online receipt) versus how much you are going to be refunded in stores. Because I did not have my physical receipt from the sales associate, I had to use my online order confirmation through email. Disappointingly, the two separate emails for the same item charged me two different incorrect amounts (of lesser value of the actual paid amount) which resulted in me being only refunded $15 total for the original $26. Highly reccomended! I came to this Michael's yesterday looking for a frame for a specific and unusual size. The store was clean and organized and I was able to find exactly what I was looking for at a very affordable price. My son saw an adorable pillow in the clearance bin that was clean and cute for the price so we grabbed that too. Michael's generally are nice stores to shop at. However, today I had a $5.00 coupon and I specifically asked the cashier if it was applied to sale items and she said yes. Well after not seeing the discount on the register, I asked her could she check the total. She said she applied it. It only took off 22 cents. So I asked her to try again. Same price. Finally she asked another person who said that the coupon was only for full price items. Very frustrating! She suggested that I contact their headquarters. So much for a $5.00 coupon. read more

*UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF/RUDE* Went into the store to buy baby items, basket. Before I get in the door I have a problem. Since there r 2 doors to go thru I was standing at 1st door & put my mask on. As I entered the store I hear someone YELL 'ma'am you must wear a mask'. I'm not paying attention cause I already have a mask on. Stop to put my keys in purse & grab a shopping cart. Then I hear this clerk YELL again 'ma'am you must put a mask on'. I look up & see the clerk looking at me now. I look at her & say "who the fuck are you yelling at I have a mask on'! Even the lady this clerk was waiting on had to step back from counter cause the clerk was yelling in her face. Clerk says nothing. She should have apologized!! I grab what I needed & go to check out. Luckily go to another clerk to check out. Thought I would get out with no other problems. NOPE...The clerk that yelled at me comes from behind comes the cash counter & has to say 'you must wear a mask when you come in'! Again, I tell this idiot 'I had 1 on already so I don't even know why you had to come over here. Just shut up. You should not have said anything to me + you were trying to embarrass me by yelling at me while customers were in line'. Then the clerk decided to tell me she was not YELLING at me but again I should have a mask on. The while time I'm in store I have a mask on? Are you blind!! I finally said 'cant you just keep your mouth shut. I'm checking out & dont need to hear you talking to me'. I love Michael's, it's one of my absolute favorite stores, but the customer service at this location is pretty bad. I would LOVE to give more than 1 star, but I honestly can't, and that is sad. I just called and was going to ask if they had a product in stock but the woman who answered was rude, sounded extremely irritated and said they were too busy to check the computer for an item because they had a line. I said I'd be more than happy to wait on hold and she said no because then they'd all be ringing and no one has time to help me. WOW! I'm shocked. I'm sad that I have to even write this review, and I'm really disappointed in the store and their terrible customer service. I think Michaels is a great store. They have a good selection, and they constantly have sales going on. The only think I ever can complain about this store is that when the store is busy, the checkout line goes by slowly. The corporate offices should let this location hire more staff to accommodate to that. Those reviews of people complaining about "they didn't have what I needed" is honestly so dumb. Next time, do your research and call in to see if they carry the product you're looking for. Holy Batman! I thought we forever lost Michael's Arts & Crafts. This place is bigger than the old place and it totally feels like the Walmart of arts and crafts stores. I'm so glad they have RESTROOMS, which I needed to run to after standing in the yarn and needle aisle for an hour, being indecisive and clueless about what size needles I need to get for some yarn..... after doing my business, I returned to the yarn aisle and continued to stand there for a long time, being clueless about knitting in general... SO a great tip I can give, however, is to choose yarn colors that come from the same LOT (look for the LOT number, which should be on the label).... so you know that those yarn skeins were dyed at the same time... hence UNIFORM in color. I'm definitely a big fan of Michael's. The new store is well organized and well kept, staff out on the floor is more often then not willing to lead you to whatever it is you are looking for. It's way cleaner and the staff is very friendly especially a young associate named Sara who helped me out alot with ideas for my project that I'm working on. So funny to see that they're giving people a hard time about wearing a mask. I was at our local Michaels 2 days ago. All customers had mask on. They were having a problem with my return and was not able to get it go through at the register. This woman, she was not the cashier I had in the beginning, helped me. She devoted her time and did everything she could to get my return. She did not leave me hanging at all! I was able to get my return which made appreciate her for her hard work. If you're looking for even a mediocre form of customer service, you WILL NOT find it in this craft store. It's a shame, too because Michael's used to be an excellent place for everything crafts. I try not to come here as much as I used to, but I've been trying to complete my Copic marker collection and today I went to take advantage of their sale. I waited 40 minutes by the art section for an employee to open the cabinet for me. I even had my list of ten markers to purchase. I talked 2x to an associate, a dark haired guy with mustache at the Framing department. Both times he said he already called someone. First time, he sounded okay. The second time I asked he was obviously annoyed and pretty abrupt with me. I let it go and returned to the art section to wait. Ten minutes later, I asked a cashier and she also told me that she was going to send somebody. Forty minutes went by and I decided to just leave. It was ridiculous how they wasted my time. This is why if I can help it, I go to Hobby Lobby. Michael's has lost its charm and this was not the first time I have received lousy customer service. However, what happened today was worthy of a review. I'm so very disappointed and I need to let it be known. I hope that the management at Michael's fix this issue with their staff. The holidays are just around the corner and it will be even busier. You are in retail and providing excellent customer service should be your main goal.
