I mainly come for their yarn section, but it is often quite empty. Not as much of a selection as other stores. I keep coming back since they often have sales but it's disappointing when the stock is so low all the time. Service is average, no complaints on cleanliness. read more

I paid $35 for 200 feet of paracord. My fault I will never go there again. For what I paid for 200 feet I could have got 3,000 feet for less. Shame on Michael's, and shame on me for going there. Never again. read more

Heaven! Crafters heaven...or at least a piece of it! Ample parking as it is shared with Jenny from the block (Jenny Craig) and Party City. This location is much bigger than my regular one on City Ave. this one has clearance!!! Are you kidding me?! The staff are usually helpful at all of the Michaels's locations but every now and again you get a Bitter Betty that's not happy she had to work today but not on my watch!! Bring the positive and get it in return! Hence the deals I racked up on. The store is pretty clean and you can always find a coupon on the website or the app so get to shopping!!! I come here a lot since it's close. They recently updated /improved the layout of the store and checkouts. for the Better!! Before the middle section was a bit messy but now it's great. The shelves are bit bare in some places. Perhaps they still need to finish setting up the new layout? It always seems like they are short 1 cashier... Hopefully the new layout will help. Terrible customer service. Curbside pickup a joke. Called before coming, called when I got here. 15 minutes later I called again and they were shocked (!) that no one had brought out my order! Finally someone came out - and asked for my order number so they could try to do d my order! I hate Hobby Lobby for their terrible corporate practices, but if they put forth any effort at all they'll crush this terribly run store. read more

You can not be more middle America momlike than stopping at a Michael's Arts and Craft store. Craft paints? So many colors. Design your own picture frame? Too many choices. Decoupage? I thought that was a technique performed by French prostitutes. My mistake. I needed to get yarn. I found a Michael's in Springfield. I entered hoping I would not see anybody I knew. There were many women in elastic pants with short frosted hair and sensible shoes. I tried to blend but red hair and a black sundress, well, I tried. I almost felt like I would have to show mom ID to buy my yarn. It is large. It hastons of stock but not as many choices if that makes sense. Like, you need stampers and they have five stampers. Buttons, glue, paint, brushes, how to books, and toys- for some reason a whole row of Crayola inspired toys and arts supplies. There seems to be a push here to perhaps have more items of a higher price point than pushing the googely eyes. It's adequate, what else needs to be said? read more

I must give a BIG THANK YOU to the staff at Michael's. I went there today to purchase frames for my sons graduation and prom pictures, a basketball banner and his certificate from Delaware County Community College for completion of his dual enrollment classes for Mechanical Engineering. After I got home to place the items in the frames I realized I left them in the cart at Michael's, so I called and spoke to an employee who looked for the items but could not find them (note: at this time I only thought I left my sons certificate and banner). As she has me on hold I prayed they would be found but they were not. I was already on my way back to Michaels hoping for the best. So, I spoke with a manager (forgot her name) who took my information to call me if they were found. I asked if I could come back and leave a lost and found note and she said yes. So, I returned the frame I purchased for the banner. About 5 minutes after I got back home I then realized I also left his pictures :-( NOW THE CRYING BEGAN. So, I called back to speak with the manager I talked with but she had left for the day. That's when I spoke to Alley. Still crying because I thought I lost his pictures Alley, tried to console me and stated she would do everything she can do help. Prayers still going up. Alley got back on the line and said SHE FOUND MY ITEMS. The most important of the items I left! His certificate and his pictures! I raced back to Michael's to retrieve my items but before I took possession I gave Alley a BIG HUG. I cannot thank all the staff at Michael's that took the time to find what I left. I really had to be a handy woman one night before going out to party so I came to Michael's. First, do not expect someone to assist you through the hundreds of thousands of art & crafts supplies. Since this is a store I do not frequent, I made a mistake thinking I could get in and out. Very wrong. I passed what I was looking for three times before I asked for assistance. Maybe it was my fault. Anyways, I got what I wanted, headed for the checkout quickly only to move slowly through the line. The woman in front of me decided to ask for additional assistance while checking out. Very inconsiderate considering there were about five people in the line I was in. So yeah that knocks a star off. The woman working there should have asked her to seek help with the woman who was helping no one at all only steps away from the register. End of ranting story, I found what I needed for cheap, only after asking for help from two employees and waiting in line for 15 minutes. Not so arts & craft? Beware. read more

I love Michaels and was able to find everything I was looking for(while digging through the store) but this is the messiest store I've ever been too. Lots of stuff placed wrong and all over the floor and bottom shelves. Gave me anxiety being in there. From someone that has worked in an establishment like this, my higher ups would be ashamed with the way the store looked. Definitely needs more staff as well, seems like they are understaffed and never do recovery of the store at the end of the night. read more

Maybe teachers force school projects on me to build character, because as guy I always feel alienated in craft stores. This store is no different. Two stars for experience, one more for having what I needed. I called first to make sure, even though the clerk who answered my phone knew the answer to my question she asked, "How may I direct your call?" This bugs the nit-picky me because I had already directed my call effectively... Either way this store probably has what you need... in fact it's overstocked with upper middle class needle-pointers and self proclaimed jewelers. My 8 year old avid crafter loves Michael's, AC Moore and JoAnnes Fabrics - and we visit various locations of each. This one has Deplorable service. (Average for cleanliness and variety/price of items - but Non-existent service). The manager had no idea what "washi tape" (crafting/scrapbooking tape even was and said that they did not carry any "colorful" tape for scrapbooking - only clear tape - but she said we could "try in aisle 3 A" - so we did and there was a HUGE display of tons of the stuff - so we snapped up a few rolls. Odd, odd, odd place. But they're near our home - so w'll be back. read more

I come here when I need some crafty stuff (obviously). They have the standard craft items with nothing too special. The people who work here are friendly, but only if recognize them first, and sometimes they're not too helpful. The prices are pretty fair, and unless it's the holidays it's not too crowded. If you need something quickly, check it out, but if it's specialty or you're going to need a lot of help, maybe go somewhere else. read more

I've been shopping at this Michaels for years and was never really disapointed when getting my scrapbook supplies or melting chocolates for baking. Since I have picked up the hobby of baking cupcakes, I frequent their baking isle more often. They came out with this great line of cupcake liners that are adorable and cheep compared to the same prints you find online for tripple the price. The past 4 times I've been to this location -all within a month ( and one trip to their location in Exton)- their shelves have been wiped empty of the majority of liners. Everytime I ask if I could get some assistance as to when I could expect these in again, I was told the only thing I can do is just call ahead. Frustrating, especially since you can't purchase these online and I live downtown. So after striking out 4 times, I am now forced to puchase what I'm looking for from a random baking site online that charges $3-4+shipping for 50 compared to the $1.99 for 75 at Michaels. This fail is making me want to open a super baking supply store in the area- 1 measly isle for baking supplies isn't cuting it! read more

This store is pretty good and they have a decent selection of items. I have noticed that they don't seem to offer as many classes as some of the other stores do, and it is often a madhouse close to the holidays. I usually can find the items I'm looking for and use a coupon to keep the price down. read more

I came here to have a newspaper preserved by the framing department. Even though the materials were at a discount, it was still a lot of money but I was fine with it because this newspaper means the world to me. The guy who originally helped me pick out the right materials and a good-looking frame and whatnot was Colin and he was very knowledgeable, patient, and professional. I spent probably over an hour with him trying to get everything just right and it was worth every second. At some point the manager came over just to approve everything. She was also very nice. So I come back in 2 weeks when I was scheduled to and found that the newspaper had been cut and separated. I was a little upset and distraught, to say the least. I let the guy, not Colin, know that I was not happy with it and that I'd be back tomorrow with another copy. So I did and I spoke with Colin and the manager again and explained why I was upset. The manager was very understanding, professional, and serious. She framed the 2nd newspaper at no additional cost to myself, which was very nice. So another 2 weeks later I get a phone call to come get my newspaper. I arrived the next day and it was perfect! So, sure, the situation was pretty crazy and the 1st try was nowhere near what I'd expect from a framing service BUT because of the way the manager handled the situation and because everything worked out in the end I believe the experience was about 4 stars. I had a 75% off coupon for custom frames, so I thought I would try them out. Never again! Not only was a charged $75 for a simple 11x 18 inch frame -- when I picked it up I noticed that the lip of the frame cut off some of the graphics at the top of the certificate. When I brought it up to the sales clerk, she said "didn't the sales person offer matting?". No, I said, and she simply answered "oh, well it was his first day so he probably didn't know". That's it. No attempt to fix the problem and somehow her explanation was supposed to make me feel better? I will stick with Kent studios in the future. read more

Will never go back. An entire aisle was marked 70% off of a specific brand. My items did not ring up the right price on register so I went and got one of the signs and brought it back to the register. In tiny, tiny print, the sale was over yesterday. I told the check out person that they then should remove the 6 signs that are still in the aisle . (I counted them). The check out person was snippy and sarcastic and DID NOTHING to make things right. That's fine. A C Moore and JoAnn Fabrics are much better anyway! read more
