I feel I'm being generous by giving three stars here, it may be more like a 2.5 star location. For starters, the store is messy. Having worked at a different Joann location myself for several years, I know what I'm talking about. The fabric section was quite disorderly and the seasonal section looked like a bomb went off. I tried to make some small talk with the woman who was cutting my fabric, and she wasn't having any of it. I also didn't find the selection particularly outstanding. If you're not coming here for fabric, you can probably go to Hobby Lobby or Michael's and have a better experience with a wider selection of items. read more

Plenty of parking in this strip mall store. I've taken a few classes here and they were really helpful. I now can decorate cupcakes so that people love them :) This store is huge and has a ton of stock. Anything you need you can find here. The ribbon aisle must have 1000 different types of ribbons. I'm rating them a three star because of their lack of customer service. I walked around this whole store looking for jewelry string to bead with my little girl, we walked obviously looking lost and not one associate stopped us to ask if we needed help they all looked too busy to even acknowledge that we were there. Finally I saw one in the fabric department and asked her for what I needed she sent me down the wrong isle at this point I was I was ready to just leave. My daughter wanted eggs for Easter and they had it, and she noticed the strings gee. Thanks to my 4 year old. She did their job better than them. read more

We come to this Joann's when we can't get what we need at Michael's or AC Moore - and, as you'd expect, this store is more fabric-focused so we were able to get the adhesive and embellishments my 13 year old needed for a project. No issues. read more

For the most part this is a great store. Staff is normally helpful and friendly, though I agree with other reviewers who said they can be hard to find, and that the checkout is slow (this has been the case almost every time I go unless it is just before they close at night, and I have shopped there somewhat regularly since they moved to that location). Otherwise, the selection is the best anywhere nearby, and they normally always have what you need in stock since the place is so big and allows for so much inventory. They carry a lot of products the other local Jo-Ann's don't carry. I do feel the deli tickets at the cutting counter can get annoying because people take them and walk away and then return after their number has been called but expect to be put back in line. For those of us who wait nearby the whole time so we don't irresponsibly miss our number, it is annoying when others blatantly disregard being responsible and make other people have to wait longer. When people respect others, this system works well, but there should be a rule and a sign prohibiting "butting" if you miss your number because you chose to wander away. When this location is crowded it is miserable, and people (esp in cutting line) can be really rude. They also have the biggest offering for seasonal and artificial flower/greens here too, which is great at holiday time. All in all this is tied for my favorite Jo-Ann's around. My closest location is Wayne and I like their customer service better, plus it is a lot smaller, and is never a zoo of people (like Springfield can get), but selection in Spgfld is much better. read more

Gotta say the worst Joann fabric I've ever been to. And the only reason I'm giving them a 2 stars is because I found what I was looking for (in the clearance section). I needed samples of fabric for a big project and the pricing for the fabric were so off (everything was mix matched) I couldn't find the right price I asked someone to help they said that's all they had so I went to pay. That's when I found out the correct pricing and I asked if I can have someone show me where it was on the floor so I can figure out if it is what I want. The response I got was "Do you want it or not". That wasn't helpful at all so I had to explain about three times before they got a manager to help me. And let me tell you the manager looked like he didn't want to be there as much as the cashier. Then once I went to pay the second time, I was the last one in line and the cashier just left when it was my turn and I had to get rung up by someone else. I guess she didn't want to talk to me either. My advice which I will be doing from now on is try finding the price online on their website don't go by what's printed in the store. read more

This is a JoAnn's super store. It's in the basement of a shopping complex, essentially underneath a Walmart. It is HUGE. At times it's very clean and well organized whereas other times it's a complete disaster. Nevertheless, I can usually find what I need at anytime that I visit. The staff is helpful and friendly except for a few bad eggs but I've found that they are usually a day shift group. In the evening, the crew of younger associates seems to be much more outgoing and caring. It's a high theft area so at times products are missing for quite a while unless you bring it to someone's attention. I don't blame them but see it more as a problem with the neighboring Walmart that sits atop. I recommend parking far from the Walmart if you can as the parking lot in the front is more like a garbage dump than anything. read more

This is a fabric and craft super-store. I've been to many Jo-anns in the area and this is by far the biggest and the best. It took over a space that was formerly a Ross and then a Fielene's Basement so it's a department store sized craft spot. Aside from having the best selection of fabric and crafts around they also have knowledgeable employees who are nice (very busy, but still nice) and VERY well versed in various crafting topics. I've gotten some fabric cut a few times and I've run into employee Frank each time. He always has a nice anecdote to share (I was buying fleece to make Snuggies for Christmas and we walked about the GMA segment showing that name-brand Snuggies were made out of crap fleece and basically fell a part after a few washes.) He was VERY busy but still had the time to chat with patrons- and I noticed it wasn't just me- he likes his job so he participates! Yay Frank! As stated, I've been to a few more Jo-Anns in the area and there's nothing wrong with the other locations, per se but they just don't have the kind of selection the Springfield location has. JoAnn Fabric's framing department in Springfield PA..... MISSING in ACTION! If you need assistance in the framing department, good luck! Even if you call ahead to see when an employee will be there. On Wed 9/25/19 I called to inquire when there would be someone in the framing department. I was told by the lady on the phone that she will be there on Sat 9/28/19 from 9am -5pm. I asked her multiple times if she was sure that someone would be available. She said she was the one working that Saturday. So on Saturday I ventured to JoAnn Fabric's, but low & behold, none was there to assist me with my customize framing. The manager was of no help at best! A Real ZERO! This was not the first time I have gone there & no one with any knowledge was in the department, even when I specifically asked if there would be someone knowledgeable to take my custom framing order. My advice to everyone... avoid JoAnn Fabric's framing department. read more

While this store is usually clean and stocked, there usually isn't an associate anywhere in sight to help you out. "Maybe they're all helping out at the registers?" You ask? NOPE! Every time I've come in here, there's at least two VEEEEERRRRY slow cashiers with a line of 10 people waiting to check out. I'm really not sure why this is always the case. The coupons and stock will keep me coming back, but I will continue to grumble as I wait in line. (I always say I'll never come back, but keep coming back....caught in a bad romance!) read more

I love sewing but Joann's is torture. After wading through tight aisles, I spent 20 minutes at the checkout (as in, at the register) while the one register worker was forced to juggle front end customer service AND the phone. I don't envy her position- she basically ignored me the whole time while she answered questions about felt and the line grew to 8 people before anyone helped her out. I think the management may want to consider having someone up front who isn't doing all the jobs at once. It made for a poor experience for me, the customer, and I'm guessing their employee too. read more

I love Joann Fabrics and have been shopping there for close to 20 years. However, this was my first and last time ever shopping at this location. My experience was TERRIBLE! The staff members were rude, slow, and incompetent. It took the cashier almost 30 MINUTES to do my check out. I dont know if she is a new employee or just terrible at her job. read more

A one stop shop most of the time for me. The people who work here have always been so helpful and will provide guidance and suggestions about projects. If they're unfamiliar with something they will ask. This is the first place I always look. I love being able to use my coupons too. read more

I've come in to this store a few times and was never really able to find what I was looking for. As the name implies they have a lot of fabric options, which fake up one entire side of the store. Sometimes I find it hard to find things in the store and the few times I have been in there it was hard to find an employee that was on the floor that was able to help me. I previously received coupons in the mail which is nice if the item you want isn't excluded on the coupon. read more

Okay. Not the best (or most affordable) pieces of fabric, even on clearance. The store is pretty clean and organized and the employees are usually helpful. They have great deals on remnants (who doesn't) and a great selection of patterns as well. Their craft section is okay, I find most of my items at AC Moore, where they are more affordable and just carry a better selection. The do have a good sewing machine section where you can actually see the machines out of the box and they have sewing classes as well. read more

the prices were okay but when we got our fabric and opened it we had too much of one and way too little of the other. Also the lady who cut our fabric ripped it about 6 inches down the middle making it hard to use it as we needed to. If you want strait cutting I would go to fabric outlet on Glenstone. i do not recommend this place to buy fabric. read more

I have been to this store multiple times and have had so many issues. The last time I went I got what I needed and went and checked out only to find that they charged me regular price on a LOT of sale items. I called and they said to bring in the receipt to get the $ back. I went in today and told the cashier about the problem and she rolled her eyes and me and started the process of giving the money back. After about 25 minutes of standing there with a long line behind me and only one other cashier open, I thanked her for taking the time to do the returns. She replied "well it would've been faster if you brought in the items" and rolled her eyes again. I was told to bring in only the receipt and the items I had purchased was yarn. Therefore, the yarn was already used in my projects! I left the store by saying "have a great rest of your day". The cashier (Maryann) didn't even look at me and replied by saying "ok". I am not happy about this store and will never come back. read more

Very rude employees. They will not help you when asking about specific items and smart off about even asking as if they don't have time or the "how dare you speak to me" attitude. Employees at the cutting counter are the rudest. I've been treated like trash by them for buying clearance fabric and lectured about using coupons as if I don't know the general rules or as if I can't afford it as well as treated badly when having regular priced items cut. Asking for anything in the locked counter like paint is definitely out of the question unless you want to be treated like you're wasting their time. read more

ABSOLUTE worst customer service ever. We contacted this store on Friday to hold 5 outdoor chairs for us that no other store in the area had. The store said they would hold them until Saturday. On Saturday we had several issues that arose, and contacted the store advising them we would not be able to make it out to the store, and asked to hold the chairs until Sunday. The employee said they were looking at the chairs while on the phone, and would change the date to Sunday, that it would be no issue. On Sunday we drove 45 minutes to the store to pick-up the chairs, only to be told that they were put out for sale and someone bought them. All the store could say was "it's too late now, nothing we can do about it". That is terrible customer service, I worked in the customer service field for almost 10 years, and never witnessed anything this poor. I know this is not the Jo-Ann way of doing things, as I have visited numerous other Jo-Ann locations and NEVER had an issue at any of them. read more

Rather large store, however their inventory of fabric can be limiting at times. A little too craftsy with a lot of bric a brac not associated with sewing or fabric. It's the middle of June and if I see another bolt of Pill Free Fleece, i'l break out in a heat rash. I went here particularly for Terry-cloth however the selection was disappointing with only a limited range of colors. Their thread inventory particularly Gutterman thread which I only use was basic, not compared to other Joanns which carry multi color spool boxes of thread. This would have been a great deal to me today because it was on sale for 50% off, I opted for one spool to match the fabric i did buy a yard of. The wait time at fabric cutting was minimal because it was a Monday. I did once make the mistake my first time visiting on a Sunday. Never again on that note, but i find the staff friendly and informative and will visit on off times. The saleswoman in the Viking sewing machine area was especially nice and educated me on certainsewing machines and sergers. Kudos to her, I'll be back to purchase. read more

Arrived 5 minutes early for my class. Betty (a manager) was on the phone in the room. 10 minutes later she gets off and asks what class am I there for. She leaves to find out where the instructor is and never comes back. 10 minutes later I decide to get a refund. Wait in line (1 cashier Cara) working. Cara tries to do a refund and it doesn't work. Betty has appeared and is working at a register. Cara asks Betty for help and is told get another manager. Cheryl arrives and says they cannot refund classes. All they can do is cancel me out and a refund will appear. She says the instructors are from somewhere else and they don't know their schedules. But, the policy says if you don't cancel within 48 hours, no refund. Cheryl apologizes and says call me if you don't get your refund. Come home and call Customer Service 888-739-4120 if you need it. They keep you on hold forever and never answer. Won't be going back here. read more

Joanne Fabrics is the best and my favorite store for all of my art work and crafts. And I have to say that the line is no longer or slower than any other of the craft stores! The excellent thing about Joanne's is that you can use so many coupons in one purchase! You will never be able to do that at A.C. Moore's or Michael's! I have saved a good deal of money shopping at Joanne Fabrics and I intend to continue shopping there and nowhere else! I can't find any better deals anywhere else! read more
