Toy Trains! Model Kits! And all the other art sets, car tracks, European and Japanese toys and "Stuff." You know how a modern store just has people behind the counter? Hobby Works has staff walking the floor to help you. And they really help. And they know their stuff. And when you're there, it's got that friendly clubhouse atmosphere like you stopped off here while walking home from school in the 6th grade. Sometimes it feels like with online shopping, kids won't ever experience the friendly local stores like we did. Not while Hobby Works is open, it's all modern, but it's a shopping experience that most stores lost over the years- and our kids deserve to experience that friendliness.

I traded about half my stack of cards and took back the other half to trade somewhere else upon trading somewhere else I was told the cards were in great shape and was offered around $200. Four different occasions I've gone in paid over market price walk away unhappy but because they have such a big selection it's one of the only places you can go... I don't recommend if you have somewhere else you can go

This time, I bought a 3 foot bear nutcracker. He is really cute! There was so much holiday merchandise to choose from. Every where the eye could see was Christmas. Unfortunately, there was only one small table for Chanukah and none of it was on sale. That made me a little sad. Service was great. And, the lines are getting longer, so I suggest getting in there to get the selection at its finest. All the Christmas decorations were at least 25 percent off. And, you get a coupon each time you spend more than $40. I usually wouldn't redo a review so quickly, but this review has to do with the Christmas decorations. Forget Thanksgiving, boo hoo. There are no decorations to be found. Poor turkey, But, the Christmas decorations are beautiful!

The Society was founded in March 1932 and is the oldest exclusively model railroad club in the United States. They maintain 2,500 square feet of model railroad displays of steam and diesel freight and passenger trains and trolleys, plus so much more. It was fun to see all the parts of the display - it really gives you a glimpse into the history of railroading. It is not easy to find, as the doorway is tucked into the left front center of the building and the society is located on the third floor with no elevator. The display is normally open on the second Sunday of each month, except May.

I went into the store & Louise could not have been nicer or more helpful. She fixed me up right away with a beautiful yarn & right size needle to make a hat for my granddaughter as my first project, despite her being primarily a knitter. She also told me about a wonderful woman who works there and teaches classes on crochet (which I took and am taking). Since that time I have been to the store numerous times and ALL of the saleswomen are gracious and helpful. They have a great selection of yarns and expertise when you need it!
