I go to this location for all of my art supplies. They have the best selection of canvases and acrylic paints in San Antonio. The customer service is wonderful and the staff is very friendly and helpful. With Michael's you always get updates from their app with the latest coupons and vouchers and certificates and discounts on a weekly basis which is a great value. I usually get at least a 10 to $15 discount every week by savings of Michaels. I recommend Michaels to everybody for their art supplies and for their, crafting and hobbies! First time at this Michael's. I came here to shop with my sister for some mum materials. I was surprised at how much selection they had for mums (more than hobby lobby). I shopped around and also found some Halloween & dia de muerto decorations which they also don't (ever) carry at hobby lobby. They were on sale too, which was great! Great pricing/ value for everything I purchased. Service was great too. Especially since they now have self serve kiosks to check out. The store manager was very rude. Condescending and not customer focused at all. Their signs read one thing ALL turns out it's only SELECT. It was a very busy Sunday and the employees were stating they hadn't taken their 15 minute break, so I get it you're having a bad busy day but there is no reason to be rude or discouraging to the customers. Coming from retail I fully understand this store manager may need a vacation or a break because she was definitely not trying to help on this day. Up until the manager gave bad customer service everyone else including the employee who hadn't taken their break we're outstanding. I feel for the employees having to work with a manager that takes her frustration out on others. It made all of them look bad. When I asked to speak to her boss she rudely said, "like I said you can call 1-800-MICHAEL" and hung up. read more

I came here for custom framing. I had an old piece that was in a horrible ugly frame. I was poking around looking at frames and Michele saw me and came over to assist. She asked if I needed help and I was desperate yes! She helped by getting some frames and immediately put it up on the screen and helped me visually the end product. Michelle is awesome! Being pregnant and during Covid last thing I want to do is go out in public however I needed items for my baby's nursery. Saw that they are doing curbside and was so happy. Online Michaels says "Same day in store pick up if order placed before 3pm" I ordered my supplies around 12 pm. 48 hours later I still haven't received notice my order was ready Called the store, girl said they're busy to just wait until I get an email that it's ready.... I ordered 8 items, 6 of those were the same thing. I don't think it takes 2 days to gather the stuff and have me pick it up. Not doing in store pick up at that store ever. Will most likely just use hobby lobby from now on. Their customer service is usually better and quicker anyways. read more

I started shopping at Michaels because they offered better pricing on a few items I needed - a chalkboard, markers, etc., and then discovered the customer service and speed of checkout were just astonishing compared to my other local box craft store. Michaels has great coupons, offers teacher discounts, and their curbside is awesome. I also love getting ideas from Patricia every time I go. She's always so friendly, remembers her customers (who does that these days?), and spending that extra moment chatting about crafts at checkout reminds me that there's still community around us, waiting to be built. read more

Great shopping place for hobbyists to get all their supplies but I have been going to their custom frame counter for over 20 years. They have the absolute best variety of frames and picture hardware than anybody else. I suggest that you look for their coupons that offer tremendous savings on any item in their store. And, when it comes to holiday or special event items, they are the one-stop shop for Christmas, Halloween, Independence Day, etc. Look for them in most major cities. read more

I called asking for liquid chalk markers and the woman corrected me saying she's never heard of anyone calling them that- when I asked if they had pastel colors she replied yeah we have pink and blue I then repeated myself asking if they were pastel she then put me on hold all while apologizing to someone else on the other end of my call. You are better off going during a quiet week-day afternoon than trying to get help on a week-end. I go there frequently to get framing done, and the wait can be significant during the week-end, especially when you have a customer that doesn't know what they are looking for tying up the clerks time. I mean really, couldn't the clerk just let them review the matts leisurely while she waited on the next guest? I waited 20 minutes and she was still with the same customer when I decided to throw in the towel. Next time, it's early on a week-day. read more

Their supplies are really limited but they're trying to improve and became more like Hobby Lobby with more decorations. I've been in better Michaels in Plano. The male staff members that work there have been helpful, but I went in 8/7/18 I was ignored by a young Hispanic woman ( she was talkative and acted like a supervisor or manager) I was in line to check out and after the two people in front of me were checked out she walked off and didn't even acknowledge me. She may have been temporarily helping but she didn't say I'm sorry this register is closed or tell me to move to another register she just walked off and started talking to another cashier. I had been visibly waiting there patiently for about 6 minutes. I find the staff at Hobby Lobby much more accommodating. read more

I am impressed..I came from Ross next door where the service was terrible ..and both a young man and a lady were available to help me find what I needed. They both had a smile the entire time (one young man even took me to the aile the product was on) and wow was I impressed at the great prices. I went just to return something but I guess it wasn't showing up in the system and so I just asked for store credit n they wouldn't give it to me I was so confused because I worked for a michaels and I know if the item didn't come up with the card or by phone number you used or you didn't have the receipt then we had to give the customer store credit. The items were Copic markers too so its not like it was any item I might have picked up and just decided to pretend like I bought it and I wanna return it for store credit those markers are locked and I bought them from a different location the location I actually worked at so I ended up just going back there to return them and actually got my money back and for the ones that didn't come up in the system I just got store credit. The employee I don't know his name but he was just really rude and I never thought I'd experienced something like that it made me not wanna go back cause I just have an ugly feeling about this location now I mean I'm probably still gonna go but it just sucks cause I go to michaels for art stuff and I wanna feel welcomed not feel like im being hated for no reason. The holidays are upon us, and Michael's has holiday ribbon on sale 60% off. Naturally, swarms of women, myself included, flocked to the discounted ribbon, hell-bent on inspecting and petting every single spool before making our selections. Soon, we spied more holiday ribbon stored on the highest shelf, where none of us could reach, though the taller ladies (again, myself included) tried desperately. Suddenly, the aisle of holiday ribbon was totally ignored, except for the highest shelf, which we all absolutely had to see, convinced that the perfect ribbon was there, just beyond our grasp. We took turns looking for help, but there was none to be found. Finally, when we were on the brink of despair, a man appeared with a ladder and the patience of a saint. I don't think he was even on the clock, as I suspect that the woman who accosted him caught him as he was leaving. He ascended the ladder and stood there like an angel, helping the woman who had found him, holding out box after box of ribbon for her to inspect and choose from. After he helped her, it was my turn. I didn't want to be a nuisance, but I did want to see every single box of ribbon on the high shelf. I asked if I could climb the ladder to look, so that he didn't have to hold out each box individually while I compulsively picked over each individual spool. He said he couldn't allow me on the ladder, but that he didn't mind holding out the boxes. He held out box after box and answered all of our inane ribbon questions. He even settled an issue about maroon vs. burgundy ribbon, and offered to show a woman where the maroon ribbon she desired could be found. When our ribbon savior finally came down, he cheerfully led the woman to the maroon ribbon. Our hero's name was Jeff, and I believe he was the assistant manager. Today I am thankful for Jeff, his willingness to help, and his apparently endless supply of patience. The store is excellent, and I shop there frequently, but Jeff is the real MVP. read more

i've gone to many michaels and this one is just ok. of course there isn't anyone to ask questions to help you find anything. there's tons of stuff to help you with your projects. annoying that there is a line for each register so not necessarily the next person is checking out. lots of parking. be sure to get a coupon online before you go. comes in handy. read more
