Around this time of the year I love visiting this Michaels location and perusing their Christmas section. If you were to tour my home during the holiday season, 75% of the Christmas decorations that you will encounter (both inside and outside my home) has been purchased from Michaels. In comparison to the Elk Grove location that is in close proximity to my home, this location is HUGE! Being African American, I love the fact that this location stocks African American figurines (i.e., Christmas tree toppers, angels, santas). The online inventory checker is pretty accurate, so I use it often for the store pickup option. If you have the patience to wait until early December to purchase your Christmas decorations, you will benefit from the 50-70% clearance items (I never pay full price)! I cannot honestly say that the customer service at this location is great. I rarely see employees on the floor; therefore, do not be surprised if you see a customer risking their life (I'm so dramatic) standing on a shelf to grab an item that is out of reach (shamefully I admit that I have been victim to doing so). However, I can say that the cashiers are generally always friendly a do a good job of suggesting other items in the store that might compliment your purchase(s). If you're looking for an assortment of Christmas decorations, I highly recommend visiting this location!

I came here to pick up a few things for a project that I was working on. I found what I needed. Went to the counter but I couldn't use the kiosk because I was paying with cash. So, Aden said I can help you over here. He was super nice. And funny. We started talking as he was ringing me up. He mentioned that they were doing a $5.00 grab bag but it's really a box. I asked what was in them he told me old seasonal items from Christmas, Valentine's Day, new years ect. Ect. The store is trying to sale all items to clear out the old to bring in the new. He was honest which I really found refreshing. He said he box is a surprise, he said you like surprises right. I said no, your wrong Aden, I do not like surprises at all. We started laughing. He said it's only $5.00 I said ok, I'll take 1. He said ok cool, when you come back tell me what you got. I'm doing you 1 better Aden, I made a video. It's might be a mess because I had to record it myself. Yikes here goes nothing. Aden is super dope. Until next time Aden. Your awesome.

This Michaels store in Natomas is clean but a little disorganized. Some items are not easy to find. I'm here looking for some artificial flowers. They're poorly displayed and mixed with the other items in the same section. I finally found what I wanted, and the price was reasonable. The workers were a little hard to find on the sales floor when I was looking for help. However, the cashier at the checkout counter is friendly and moves the line quickly!

Went in there yesterday to purchase Cricut vinyl materials. As always, I show the price as listed on Cricut.com in order to price match. Was never an issue until yesterday, where the employee at the front said that the manager said they don't price match Cricut. I asked if she was sure, because it was never an issue before. They didn't price match. As per Michaels.com, it is policy that they price match Cricut.com. I suggest the manager take time to review the company's policy. Drove out of my way to go to Michaels, and ended up leaving with nothing.

Came in for a few items and while browsing got inspired for more D.I.Y. FUN, I even got a great deal where I buy two and get half off ONE!

Blick is perfect for all your artsy fartsy needs from students to an at home project. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. They do an excellent job of checking in to see if you need guidance or have questions. Which helps my social anxiety tbh. I'm in my 30s and I still get shy to ask for help and just kinda freeze and hope I can google my question ‍ For my a watercolor class I needed various brushes and I love the bulk discount they offer, so that helps with budgeting. I thought it was so cool that I got to go behind the counter and pick frame options off the wall - they really have everything you could ever need! We found a matte and frame that worked well with my other degree, which I brought for reference. The whole thing was under $300, which was very reasonable for what I ordered! They also gave me a discount for being a first-time customer and they also offer teacher discounts! The framing was estimated to take 6 weeks, which was a little long. However, the wait is worth it, as they custom-order and shape the frame to your needs. My order was finished in a little less than that timeline, which I appreciated. They also gave me hanging advice and tips for where it would look best. I love how it turned out and will definitely be back when I next have something special to commemorate!

I have Case for Making to thank for getting me back into exploring my creativity and artistic side. They are a small shop in the Ocean Beach neighborhood of San Francisco, but they have a great selection of handmade watercolor paints (kinda pricey but worth it for their beautiful colors) that can be shipped anywhere and a terrific selection of online and IRL watercoloring classes (recommend instructors Dave Muller and Anjelika Deogirikar Grossman). Around 1pm on a beautiful Saturday, we found parking in Judah and made our way into a small storefront with two doors: one for workshops and one for retail art supplies. I love that they offer workshops here, and I love any sort of community-centered art outreach in San Francisco. My partner is the bigger artist between the two of us and I'm glad I brought him, even though he didn't buy much, he was able to see the selection of amazing quality watercolors and the wide variety of pens, of which I ended up buying a handful because I am a stationary lover if I'm anything at all! The prices were about what one would expect for a small store in the sunset, and I was happy to pay them. Some of the prices were actually much better than I thought they'd be. I purchased a large-ish art clipboard for $18 and I know I'm gonna use the heck out of it! The store was fairly empty when we arrived but filled up quickly with Saturday shoppers, and the cashier was wonderful and kind, and I appreciated their calm demeanor I'll be back here! Really just a great little spot for quality art supplies: watercolor pallets, brushes, notebooks, mixed media notepads and paper, high quality colored pencils and artist pens, etc!

When I arrived it was a super easy process 1. ring door bell 2. tell them your name 3. grab a bag & "shop" I tried to be mindful of course and only take what I needed but I was so amazed by all the crafts they had and the condition they were in. You can only book once a month according to the website which is nice in my opinion that way you have a opportunity to get some good things. This is also a art studio so you can see the spaces artist have in the back as well. I also love that you can bring any supplies for the most part and donated some unique things were glass jars , cups, storage containers. I went around Christmas so there was a section of holiday supplies and decor. I scored some amazing things and would recommend folks to go if they have donations, picking up a new hobby or cant afford art supplies right now and still want to create. Lastly - they have so many community workshops & events too. Check them out!
