I go to the Target Shopping Center Monthly, but rarely go to the Dollar Tree. I've checked them out a handful of times. I got to my appointment early so had around 10 minutes to check them out. This was my moment. Last time I was in Dollar Tree I learned that everything was a minimum of $1.50 each. No longer a dollar. I really think they should go back to $1 or change their name. My quest and my whole reason for my trip was to purchase pinwheels. We are going to the Cemetery next week and I don't want to go empty handed. Many people have pinwheels and fake flowers on their graves. Some have metal signs and little statues. We went last year for grave sweeping day. We brought tooth brushes from Dollar Tree and water to clean the headstone. We brought pinwheels we got at a different Dollar Tree when we were out of town. Maybe all the Dollar Trees have a different type of stock depending on the clientele. Or Last year may have just been the year of pinwheels. We have been other stores such as Ace Hardware and they didn't have any either. I'm not sure where you can buy pinwheels anymore. You can get them on Amazon, but then you have to buy multiples and I only want one. Hopefully we'll be able to go to another Dollar Tree and they will have them. I'm not giving up on the Dollar Tree. I have gone to Dollar Tree for other items and have been successful. They always have good deals on gift bags and tissue paper. I usually buy a pack of white tissue paper to stuff in the gift bags. White goes with everything so I only need to buy one package. I've also bought greeting cards here and I felt they were reasonably priced. I still had some time so I looked around so I wouldn't leave empty handed. They had flags with sticks that could stick in the ground, but I've never seen flags in the cemetery, it's just not that type of cemetery. They had lots of other 4th of July stuff, stakes that go in the ground that's say USA, but still not appropriate. I finally laid my eyes on some fake flowers. Not ideal, but they will fit in with others plots at the cemetery. I found a nice bunch of pink mixed flowers with a substantial stem that I think will be able to be pushed into the ground, or least I'm hoping it will. If not we can just leave the flowers on her plot or find some real flowers on our way to the cemetery. I've got a week to come up with something, we're not going till next Saturday. Check out was smooth. There was two people checking out when I got in line and only 1 person in front of me. It went by quickly. I had time to shop and check out in 10 minutes. Parking is convenient. They are part of a shopping center and there is always plenty of parking. You may need to walk a little, but there is always a space. read more

Stopped in at Dollar Tree today just to wonder and see what they had. All Christmas is 50% off right now, which is a good deal. They still had quite a lot of decor, boxes, gift bags, tins, and lights. I was able to get some gift bags and tissue paper and a couple other items for under $10. They do have Valentine's Day items out now as well. I know these stores can get thrashed because there are a ton of people that shop it and honestly not many people put things back in the correct spot. However, the staff there does a decent job at getting the store stocked and faced. The cashier, Jason, was very polite and nice. I didn't have to wait to be checked out, everything was very quick and efficient. read more

Let's just put it out there, this store is no longer Dollar Tree since items cost over a dollar (+tax, of course). I really wanted to love my visit last week in search for party supplies but these shelves at this location were a hot mess. It was hard to find things and the organization was lacking at this Dollar Tree. I try to visit Dollar Tree before I visit the "99 cent Store" for party supplies, bc Dollar Tree usually has a better selection but things sure have changed. A big downer was that I came in wanting to buy inflated balloons and they were completely out of helium due to the "nation wide " shortage. All Dollar Tree's are out of helium. The one good thing about my visit is that the ladies working the register provided great customer service with a genuine smile. read more

The only reason I gave this place 2 stars is that the selection of certain ideas is good. Other than that this place is trash. Literally, it looks trashy inside and out. Inside products are all over the store... in take-back carts, on the ground, in the wrong spots, just everywhere. They have a better selection than the store on Folsom Blvd, but it's just as dirty. I asked a woman who wasn't wearing a mask if she had one, she said she had one in her purse, so I asked if she could put it on. She asked if I was an employee and refused to put it on when I said I wasn't, so I went to get an employee. It turned out the employees seemed to think my complaint was a joke and they didn't do anything. They made excuses that they don't need to do anything even though they have a sign on the door saying masks are mandatory inside. Then as I walked away and left the stuff I was going to buy behind, astounded by their idiocy, I heard one of them whisper, "Snitch." So I'm a snitch for caring about the general safety of the public? If the maskless woman were asymptomatic, she'd technically be spreading the disease ALL over their store. Never have I been as excited about the opening of any store as I am about this Dollar Tree in the Southport area of West Sac. The reason for my excitement? Its close proximity to my house. Now, if I ever need any party supplies, food storage containers, pregnancy tests, and other knit knacks for a super low price (shocker: it's a dollar), I'm within walking distance. Yay me! I came here the day of their soft opening (June 24, 2013), and I was pretty impressed by it's cleanliness and organization; words that one usually don't use to describe most Dollar Tree stores. So far, the staff was really nice and welcoming. I know the welcoming part is all a part of it still being new and all, but I really hope they keep it up. I also hope the cleanliness and organization part of it being new will be kept up as it goes on. Grand opening is June 29, 2013. read more

Never will I ever pay full price for greeting cards ever again. Dollar Tree has an abundant selection for $1, sometimes even two for $1! It also has party supplies (balloons, streamers, plates, gift bags, etc), sufficient enough for any office party - be it birthday, holiday, congratulatory, etc. If you're a junk food junkie, this place is stocked full of junk foods - all for a dollar or less. This place pretty much has a lil of everything! Small kitchen items, bathroom items, cleaning supplies, etc. Everything may not be high quality, but you'll get your money's worth. As the closest dollar tree to my house, I come here quite often. Dollar store or not, they have awesome customer service, the employees feel like they actually want to be there and enjoy their jobs. I'm always greeted when I come in and rarely is anything I'm looking for out of stock. A couple months ago, I was a little irritated that most Sundays when I would go to pick up a Sac Bee, they would always be out of stock. Apparently every Sunday some local coupon junkies came in first thing in the morning and bought literally all 200 copies, leaving none for us "filthy casuals" who buy one or two copies for the articles and coupons for personal use. I complained to management, as did probably many other customers.. but were told "it's store policy to not limit quantities, we agree with you it's not fair but there is nothing we can do.. sorry." Fast forward to last Sunday (July 2015) and I'm in the store for some other casual "supplies" at 8pm and BEHOLD there are still Sunday papers left (I had all but given up coming in for it). I guess enough people had complained nationwide that Dollar Tree instituted a corporate policy limiting quantities to five copies per customer, then later to three copies.. THAT is good business. Yes, the coupon mongers will be pissed and make their own complaints.. but as Austin Powers once said "Seriously, who does that!" D: It's a little thing, but knowing that there will likely be a paper for me, I'll be in to shop dang near every Sunday and I can guarantee that I'll be happily buying and spending more with Dollar Tree because of it, keep up the good work! read more

Wonderful staff. Very helpful. I forgot my basket of stuff I purchased And had to return. The manager had the stuff but unfortunately one of the young workers there had re-stocked it or at least put it in the go back carts. She was a little rude but the manager was very kind and had a good memory of what I had thrown in there and pulled everything out. This was time consuming and a hassle for her. Why do I always find myself way over spending at a store where everything is a buck? You'd think it would be impossible, but it takes the mighty will I usually can only muster at Costco to not spend more that $200, to not spend more than $25 at the Dollar tree. Do they pump in oxygen here like they do at the casinos to keep you awake and energized so you can stay up and gamble your money away all night? Why did I need to buy 5 packs of 100 straws?? Me and my girlfriend came in to purchase an ovulation testing kit and a "happy birthday" balloon. We found the aforementioned test kit and made for the line only to find 15-20 customers ahead of us. Evidently there can be only two employees working at any given time even though there are four registers available. We waited in line for about an hour and a half, I know this because my watch broke. During which time I completely forgot to purchase the "happy birthday" balloon. Suffice it to say that by the time I got home sans balloon my wife (for whom the balloon was for) was very upset and began to hurl accusations of infidelity at me and clamoring for a divorce. Very happy with shopping experience each time I've been here. While I'm not a "regular" every time I go in I generally find what I need. Store is clean. Staff is professional enough. I never shop at this store any more. The female (lady) customer service was unprofessional. I bought a "blue table cloth" several days ago but it doesn't match with my party theme so I wanted to exchange it. In the receipt, it shows "red table cloth". That lady talked to me so loud as yelling at me that all other customers can hear the conversation. I told her I didn't buy any red table cloth and suggested her to scan the bar code on the item to see how it read. She ignored my suggestion and kept yelling at me "I make this exemption to you this time, your receipt show "red" but this one is "blue"... OMG! I couldn't believe how terrible that lady's customer service skill is and did the store upper manager review her attitude. She made me fell embarrassing with other customers at that moment. After she scan the bar code of my blue table cloth, she turned her computer screen to me and told me to read it. I told her "it shows red table cloth". Another customer was paying at the next window heard the whole conversation. She walked over and read it to that female (lady) customer service "it's red table cloth" too. That lady didn't believe me and the other customer so she walked out my side and read it and made a statement "Oh, someone coded it wrong".... I won't shop at that Dollar store any more. If you do, you should read your receipt carefully to make sure your items are right color... I agree all products in that store are cheaper than Target, BUT the quality of those products can not compare to the products at Target. Target has some $1.00 products too. The customer services at Target are more professional and return/exchange policy is much easier. If you paid by your credit card, Target can get the old transaction thru your credit card within 30 days if you loss your receipt. I rather buy $2-3 dollars products at Target than buy at that Dollar store. read more

I stumbled upon this place while having dinner near by last week. I ventured in and I'm glad I did. Good selection of items from household staples to seasonal holiday decorations. Clean and organized. The staff was friendly and attentive. My favorite is the Mylar balloon selection. They have a display board, hanging over the cash register, displaying their selection which is quite extensive ( over 2 dozen designs). read more

Close to home I love it! There's always a staff that greets me in the store asking if I need assistance which is good cause I never really experienced that before at a Dollar Tree.
