Nice cozy place with old world Italian decor... Picture fat chefs adorning the walls on wallpaper and in artwork along with sconces. All the seating is booths, which I love! So much more comfy than chairs. From walking in to the restaurant to service at our table, all the staff was welcoming and friendly. After we ordered we were asked if we wanted bread and brought three slices of DiCamillo Italian bread. One for each us and they told us to let them know if we wanted more. I really liked that they asked, so bread would not get wasted. I do wish, however, that it would have been served warm. We ordered beans and greens soup and two specials, Taste of Italy (chicken Parm, 3 ravioli and fettuccine Alfredo) and stuffed rigatoni, which both came with a choice of soup or salad. When the food came, there was an ample amount of sauce and it was nice & hot. The red sauce was good, not sweet, but not acidic either... A nice balance. The Alfredo was super creamy. My chicken parm was perfectly cooked... Thin coating perfectly crisp with tender chicken inside. The stuffed rigatoni were enjoyed by my dad... First of all, my apologies for no photos, but I was with my boyfriend's parents and I didn't want to be disrespectful with my phone out. This place was amazing! We came on a Saturday night around 6ish and were seated immediately. We got drinks right away and soon placed our orders. I got one of the specials, the tour f(or taste?) of Italy: cheese ravioli, chicken parm, fettuccine alfredo, and a salad with the rolled mozzarella and house dressing. First of all, that salad was fantastic! I would go just for the salad! The dressing and rolled mozzarella was perfection. All of our entrees came out so fast ... and I remember thinking to myself "oh great, this can't be good". Nope, wrong. Great meal! Chicken parm was good, sauce was delicious, fettuccine alfredo was fantastic!! The ravioli was just average and the bread nothing to write home about but no big deal to me. Everything else was soooo good! My company had chicken parm and spaghetti and meatballs and loved their meals as well. Service was fast but friendly. Quaint little pizza shop full of romantic atmosphere... We were greeted with a smile and a friendly hello... Our server was absolutely superb... Ordered a 10" pizza and a Shell Pasta Dinner... The dinner came and was enough to feed two people... The pizza was definitely not 10"... It had to be at least a foot in diameter... Ate as much as we could... The taste was out of the world... We were at doubt whether the local recommendation about this restaurant will work for us, but we're curious. We ordered calzone with extra sausage, veal parmigiana with spaghetti and a cup of cream mushrooms soup. The calzone came in a pizza box, very large portion, enough for 3-4 people. Although it was a lil disappointing since it was filled with overflowing cheese and less sausage, but still taste delicious The veal parmigiana and spagetti also very large portion, the veal was soft and tasty in every bites, the spagetti was al dente and the sauce was remarkably delicious. The only problem was, we got more spagetti than sauce, so almost half of the spagetti was plain without any sauce. Also the salad that come with the meal, was only iceberg lettuce and couple of cherry tomatoes and a small cup of dressing. The last one was creamy mushroom soup, oh this one was super delicious with chunks slices of mushrooms. Yummy! Overall all food was good, portions was large and the pickup service was great too! Hands down a true gem in Niagara Falls. Cannot beat the food. It's one of those restaurants you will not leave without feeling full, for a very reasonable price. Tonight I had a cup of the beans and greens- one of the best in the area. I also had the special for the day the taste of Italy. Included three ravioli, chicken parm, and a side of fettuccine Alfredo that could have been the entree alone. All amazing and plenty of leftovers for tomorrow. They always have good service and I've never had to wait for my food. They have specials every day, but my favorite is their calzones. Portions are definitely very large. The food itself was delicious. I ordered the Taste of Italy special (comes with chicken parmesean w/ ravioli and fettuccine alfredo). For dessert, I had their fried dough. The chicken parmesean was perfectly cooked. The plate was filled with their house marinara sauce and is very good. The chicken itself was cooked immaculately and was very tender and buttery, enough to cut it with the side of the fork. The ravioli itself was filled with ricotta cheese and appeared to be house made. It was so delicious, in fact, that I forgot to get a picture of it. The fettuccine alfredo was very good but pretty bland looking. The alredo sauce was very flavorful and the noodles were cooked fairly al dente, but enough to still be noodle-textured. Fried dough was exactly what I expected it to be. Fried pizza dough (appeared and tasted the same as the calzone dough which I had tasted from the person next to me). The taste was very similar to that of funnel cake. All-in-all, we spent around $50 (pre-tip). The high price was a bit much from looking only at the menu, but the large portions definitely made up for that and then some. read more

This has been our go to after a day at Niagara Falls for a few years now. It never disappoints. The service is quick. The workers are friendly and the portions are perfect. The kids meals are on the large side also. They are far enough off the strip that you don't have to worry about a ton of people being there and having to wait a long time! Went in here on a Friday night and the place was pretty busy at 5:00pm. All tables taken by 6:00. The decor in here isn't anything that special, it's pretty dated. There's a line up of young waitresses at the back as soon as you walk in. We were served right away. The menu has a good number of Italian dishes, most ranging from $14-$16. The dinners include salad or soup. We chose the full portion of the spaghetti and meatballs and the chicken parmesan with spaghetti. For almost $2 more I upgrade to their house specialty chef salad where they add rolled mozzarella to it. They have Coors beer on tap. A basket of 3 slices of bread and butter arrived after our order. Not bad. I didn't find the specialty chef salad that tasty, very plain. It didn't have many ingredients. Needed at least some onion. The mozzarella tasted pretty plain too. Thankfully they had thousand island dressing so I poured that on. The entrees came within 20 minutes and they were nice and hot. The meatballs were pretty good, and the chicken parm was nice and crispy, though not that big a piece. The big problem here was that when they placed the spaghetti on the plate, they didn't drain the water off of it. So my spaghetti, and more importantly my chicken parm, was sitting in a pool of water. Not good. Needless to say, my chicken parm started to get soggy. They need to pay more attention in the kitchen, that should never have happened. Oh well. read more

Michael's is a MUST visit for anyone traveling through Niagara Falls. I've visited this establishment many, many times in my lifetime and I have ALWAYS had a great experience. Not only is the food delicious, but the service is quick and the staff is friendly. Additionally, the staff is the most efficient I have ever seen, they are always doing something, wrapping silverware, clearing dishes, refilling drinks, helping each other out, and making everyone's experience great. The place is small, and if you come at high traffic times you may have to wait a little, but because of their efficiency, the wait is never too bad. They also do take-out if you would prefer to pick up at go. I also love that every table is a booth, and the booths in the middle have a little barrier that can be lowered to accommodate larger groups. I've had most of the Italian dishes and can honestly say that they are all amazing. Their sauce is delicious, and many of their pastas are homemade. The one thing that I always get in the Beans and Greens soup. It is one of the best i've ever had, and I love and know my soups. It is thick, creamy, garlicy and delicious. My husband got the chicken egg drop soup, which is a favorite of mine at the Como, but I had never gotten here because I love the beans and greens so much, but it was also top notch. Creamy and thick, fully of veggies, chicken, pasta and eggs. On my most recent visit I paired the beand and greens with a hot meatball sandwich. Two slices of DiCamillo's bread surrounding some of the tastiest meatballs i've ever eaten. Just the right combination of meat and spice, smothered in their delicious sauce. My dad had the lasagna which came kind of open face which I personally liked as it seemed easier to eat, and the bite I tried had the right combination of homemade pasta, meat, cheese and of course their sauce. My husband got a pepperoni calzone which was literally to die for. I don't typically get calzones, as I tend to stick to their gnocchi, lasagna or their stuffed rigatoni but boy was this a good reminder of how delicious they were. The dough was soft and chewy, and was stuffed full of mozzarella and ricotta and pepperoni, with their famous sauce to dip it in. It was so huge that we took almost half of it home, and the best part was that it still tasted great even reheated! I can't say enough about his restaurant. One of my favorites. read more

Time for an update. Owned by Michael Caine, Michael Douglas, and Michael Buble. You can guess which one of the three owners gets all the chicks. Speaking of which, I wish those three would romance my stones and put their jewels in my nile. But oh well. What to get: Beans N Greens Soup, Chef Salad. The soup is one of the best you'll ever have. What else: Chicken Parm, Veal Parm, Gnocchi, pretty much everything. Why: Because, well, why not. There are 4 Italian places you have to try in WNY. The first is Mulberry Cafe, for the amazing Lasagne and incredible Parmed Meatball. Off the charts. Then there's Village Eatery in Lockport, which is hearty delicious Italian American food, and has the best garlic bread, bread and oil, and Chicken Parm in the region. Then there's Mercato (inside EXPO downtown) where you can build your own sausage-and-marinara pasta and my goodness is it good. Finally, there is Michael's. If you come here, as I will explain, you must, must, must order the Beans N Greens soup. And the chef salad is a wise option too. How was I the first person to review Michael's? That makes about as much sense as bombing another country for their own protection. ;) I've been back here a few times since I wrote the review and it's still one of the best Italian places in WNY, you absolutely have to come here and try it for yourself. Michael's is a lovely and excellent family-owned Italian restaurant in the heart of Niagara Falls, USA, that I'm willing to travel over an hour to, despite there being a hundred other Italian places that are closer to my house. The service is mixed: one older waitress who has been there years is a joy to order food from, and makes you feel truly welcome. A couple of the other waitresses including a spectacularly beautiful younger girl with a very dark tan and black hair, are much less welcoming and abrupt in a typically youthful manner. The food is wonderful, but you need to know what to order. Yes, everything is good, but you really must try the Beans And Greens soup. I don't like soup, but it's so good I could live off it. It's the best soup I've ever tasted. It's so wholesome, amazing, garlicy, dreamy, delicious and sinful, it's indescribable. It's worth the price of admission all by itself. Then there's the salad with the added Rolled Mozzarella balls (upgrade to it, it's called Chef's Salad). Absolutely phenomenal! The entrees are sometimes lacking something, it depends what you get. Their tomato sauce is some of the best I have ever tried, and they are famous for it. However their signature dish, The Chicken Parmesan, is a little bit like schnitzel in that it's too crispy, too thin, and not chickeny enough, the veal is a similar story (a bit like a fried burger patty), so I never order those anymore. I've started getting the Eggplant Parm because it's healthier for you and much juicier and more delicious than the Chicken Parm! You can substitute Gnocchi for the regular kinds of pasta - do it! It's so fluffy, milky, some of the best pasta I've tried, it is incredibly filling and comforting. If you prefer Pizza... Their pizza is good. As long as you're getting the Beans-N-Greens and their salad with Rolled Mozzarella, with whatever dish you order, you're going to leave happy. The prices are decent if not bargain basement, but the portions are enough to feed some small countries. They are probably the biggest portions I have ever seen. Speaking of big portions, I'm still glad it's called Michael's and not Midol's. Because then not only would it be a drugstore (and I don't like drugstores) rather than a lovely little Italian American Ristorante, but it would also be full of women on their periods. And while I have no problem with women on their periods, nor do I bow to stereotypes which say that women on their periods are difficult, nor do I have a problem with the blood itself (since I am from Transylvania after all), the problem is that I find that when it is that time of the month, women are far less likely to take me up on my request to eat out... at Michael's, I mean. This place is a gem tucked into Little Italy at Niagara NY. I'm generally skeptical of marinara sauce. They're just not my thing, BUT, Michaels's staff came through for me! The meatballs, ravioli, and bread were amazing. The sauce was perfect balance of sweet, pepper, and acidic. We topped it off with a very generous portion of cheese cake. This was it. We had Tour of Italy, Pepperoni pizza, and Fettuccine Alfredo. First, the taste was amazing. Even wife said we made a good choice.* Secondly, the portions are super size meals.
