The store is not super packed full of items, but there is a decent amount of things to look at. Well for starters, not a very big selection and I was in today, October 1, 2024. I bought the string lantern lights and was charged double. There was a price tag on both ends of the lights. They were plugged together the same SKU number and everything as a matter of fact when they try to stand the tag on the other end, it would not go through so they went in and changed their inventory to include two instead of one right in front of me, so that way they could charge an extra amount I mean other than that not a terrible experience, but it is disheartening especially when I would buy it for my daughters room and I am on a limited budget as is but overall they are nice people. AS A CUSTOMER: This is not a bad thrift store. They have some high end furniture, things are well laid out, and clean. AS A CONSIGNOR: If you are planning to sell your items here, READ THIS FIRST. I think I've figured out this places business model. When you sell your items at Michael's, 1) you have to take pictures of the items, 2) they decide if they want to sell the items, 3) then you have to sign a contract, 4) then they will accept the item to sell. THE CONTRACT: The items are for sale at their store for a period of time (I think its like 3 months), then you have 5 days to pick up the items. IF YOU DONT PICK UP YOUR ITEMS, THEY TAKE POSSESSION OF YOUR ITEMS. I do not envy anyone running a thrift store, or consignment shop. This is not an easy business to run, peoples stuff is dirty, peoples stuff doesnt sell, you have to keep track of who gets paid, etc. I get it. I know lawn mower repair shops, automotive service shops, and storage places have similar policies; If you dont pick your stuff up, they take possession and throw it away, or get rid of it, or sell it. This policy is to encourage people to come pick up their sh**. All that being said; what I think Michael's is doing is betting on you not coming to pick your stuff up within that window of time, so they can take possession of your items and sell it without having to pay you your commission. WHAT HAPPENED TO ME: I took two items in to be sold; one sold, one didnt. I called them and told them I would be in next week to pick up the item. She said "thats fine" and didnt say anything about the 5th day window (which I knew about and had remembered from the contract, which is why I called). I came on the 7th day, and she said "oh, sorry, the 5 day window is up. The shop takes possession of the item," which I thought, meant they had thrown my item out. As Im walking out, I see my item in the window. THE ITEM WAS STILL THERE BUT THEY WOULDNT ALLOW ME TO TAKE IT. MY THEORY: So this is what I think they are doing. You give them an item and a price you want to sell it for, and they double the price when they put it on the sales floor; so they are earning 50% of the final sale price if the item sells. The problem is, when 50% is added onto what I want to sell the item for, it bumps the price beyond what most people are willing to purchase the item for (a $150 becomes a $300 dollar bed). After the time passes and the item doesnt sell, they dont inform the consignor that the time is up, 5 days pass and they take possession of the item (per the contract). At this point, they can drop the price down where ever they want the price to be. If you brought in a bed, that was marked at $300 and didnt sell, the second the 5 days pass, and they take possession, they can mark the price of the bed down to $150 (a more reasonable price) and make just as much through the sale as if they sold the item for $300 and had to pay a commission. So I think, they have created a situation where they are "banking" on consignors not being able to make it back to the store within that 5 day time frame, and then repossessing the items, then pricing the item more reasonably and, finally, making their money by cutting out the consignor. It just seems like a simple solution would be for them to send out a reminder email that the deadline is coming up, and the consignor should pick up their item. This store has a good inventory item, I dont think this is too much to ask... or be a little flexible on the 5 day window, instead of strong-arming people out of their items. I would love to see a break-down of how many items they are actually selling when the consignor is involved compared to how many items are sold after the items have been repossessed. My guess is, the majority of the items in the store have been repossessed from a consignor, and the majority of the revenue earned by this shop is from items they have repossessed. And if that is the case, all the complaints about the employees treating the customers like thieves would make sense; the employees are probably watching to see that the consignors do not come to take back their items. CONCLUSION: There is no way I would sell with this store again, especially items of a higher value. It is much easier to sell through Facebook Marketplace on my own, than deal with this place. If you are planning to sell large amount of items, or expensive items, I would recommend steering clear of this place. If you do not come back within the 5 day window, they will take possession of your items and resell them. Sell on FB Marketplace, or The Shopper. If you dont care about your items, and you are selling large quantities of things that you dont plan to pick up after the sale, ok, I could see that. read more

NOT PLEASED AT ALL ! They were very EVASIVE ABOUT DETAILS REGARDING PROPERTY . My first hint should have been how high they priced my items . Not reading THE FINE PRINT ON THE CONSIGNMENT PAPERS WAS MY OWN FAULT ! I was in the process of moving and had many other things on my mind at the time so when I finally got around to the status of my items, SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS IN ANTIQUES , I was advised that the items were sold after their sale date had passed, I HAD NO IDEA ! Maybe a message or E-Mail reminding me of the approaching deadline would have helped tremendously, BUT NOOO ! I would have had the items removed and donated to a good cause . Therefore you should avoid this operation at all costs, NOT AN HONEST ESTABLISHMENT BY ANY MEANS ! Even when I called to check their status I was told" YOU SHOULD HAVE READ THE CONTRACT" NOT THE WAY TO DO HONEST BUSINESS ! read more

Very cool consignment shop that always has hidden gems. As far as the staff here, I always feel like they treat the customers a little rude. They stand and watch your every move like you're going to steal the 3 dollar wicker basket on the shelves. Lol . On several occasions when I've recognized customers picking an item up, the staff are quick to tell the Customer to make sure they put the item back in the right spot (umm??) or to be careful they don't drop it on the floor. I used to shop at Michael's resale. but no more! I had won a gift certificate from there at a charity auction, then covid hit and everything shut down so I stayed away. Now that I am vaccinated and ready to join the public, I asked if my certificate would still be honored. THEY SAID NO. I have spent hundreds of dollars in that store pre-covid. but I will never step foot in there again. shame on you Michaels resale! read more

So...my neighbor and I walked in this past Tuesday....let's just say my neighbor hated it but I gave it a chance by going through every room and looking thoroughly through the items...I purchased a pair of earrings.....a lot of young staff there that are not friendly and a lot teen- age-y attitude...ewww....The verdict? I will only return on $1 saturdays which I'm told by staff is last Saturday of the month. I thought it was okay...lady at register was okay....not going out of her way for anything but she was okay. Let me start out by saying the first time we visited this store was such an excellent experience, the people were so nice and friendly ( a tall lady and a young man) sorry that I didn't get their names, the second time about a month ago, HORRIBLE,there were two ladies there , not friendly at all wasn't greeted, but we thought maybe because they were engaged in a conversation, we looked around in front but if you have been here before then you know that the deals are in the back, that being said that's where we went, the thin lady ran and when I say ran she ran to the back without a mask mind you and pretended to be moving merchandise but if you are a minority you know the signs, you know the " I'm moving this so I can keep an eye on you because that's what you people do.... steal " really lady!! So when we were finished looking around we left. I loved this store for what it had and the customer service, but if this is how they will be treating black and brown people, I WILL not be back and I am sure miss Anne will be happy and I would encourage other people who think unbiased about people who don't look like them to not shop there either. read more

I had heard of Michael's Resale and Consignment shop through a friend. Being I'm in the process of cleaning out my Home To Sale, I thought Michael's would save me time and energy trying to have a garage sale. I brought Numerous Items in Pictures, Etc.. And Alot did Sell. But, for what I brought in, Let's just say the store made a big profit off of my things. Today I went into the Store to pick up my remaining things that didn't sell. I found Everything Except for, I had brought in a beautiful wine decater Set. I was only able to find one of them in the store. They were priced at $25 each. $50 total for the two. I had two other Employee's Searching the store for my missing Wine Decater! After 20 minutes of searching the store. The ignorant Woman behind the desk Said..." Well..Will call you if We find It! It could Show up two months from now!! LOL!! I'm thinking...No it's Gone! She also Added... Sometimes things have a way of blending in with other things. Seriously Stop! There were Three of us searching the store! I asked her if it doesn't show up then what happens? Said it would be my Loss!! No Apology what so ever! Rude! To let you know I will not be doing any kind of business with this Consignment shop in the future. And for those who are considering taking Valuable things there. You might not get them back if they don't Sell. Missing...in Action:/ It's a shame because I thought this Would be great place to declutter my home.
