Valerie is an EXCELLENT teacher-- fun, engaging, and most importantly, flexible. All three of us were at different levels and she was able to gauge our abilities and figure out common things she could teach all three of us while allowing us to pursue our own projects. It was easy to book a lesson and she was very responsive. Not only were the lessons great, the store is beautiful! There is a huge selection of yarns and even better, lots of samples to inspire. The shop is well-lit, comfortable, and roomy. I am already looking forward to our next lesson!

When I said I had not, she took me on a brief tour of the store, including pointing out the sake section and restroom. She even checked in with me when the original employee was struggling with a phone call and I was waiting to check out for some time. The store is laid out by yarn weight except for a separate baby yarn section. A lot of variety in all yarn weights and plenty of goodies to browse. Thankfully for my wallet I had to fit everything in a carry-on for the flight home so I just got yarn to start a quick project. Yarns from countries that I didn't know produced yarns - Japan. They have their own private label yarn as well. This is a destination store if you're anywhere in Florida. I had no reasons to visit Winter Haven (nothing there), but I found myself on the way from Tampa to Orlando on a Sunday so I stopped in. It's rare for a LYS to be open seven days a week - but they are so that was a definite plus. There's a decent amount of free parking on the street and in a nearby small lot. The store has a great selection, although I found it to be eaten up by a ton of Emma's yarns (local, but having one wall of it takes away from other yarns they could stock in my opinion). For example, I wish they stocked Cascade 220 since no stores nearby stock it. Although there is a yarn for everyone, and a few interesting finds (Biscotti self-striping, multicolored roving, art yarns, crochet animal kits). I met Noelle, and she was very sweet in helping me out, and showed me around the shop since it was my first time there. Overall, there's a good range of yarns organized by weight (my preferred layout for a LYS), and is definitely one of the top yarn stores I've been to in the Southeast.

Chris was a delight and extremely helpful with helping us choose yarn for a project my husband had in mind that did not use a yarn that is easily obtained in America (Schachenmayr). She had a gorgeous selection in tons of different colors, and was able to liven up visit with fun anecdotes about her shop, her knitting, and her own person while she wound up over a kilometer of yarn we had purchased with no fuss. We loved coming here and we would gladly stop by once more, or reach out to her by phone to have her assist us in any way she could, assistance she was happy to offer us before we went back on the road for our trip home.
