Cashier I experienced today made me realize why we're switching over to self checkouts.

I've been going to this hobby store since the 1980s when I was just a kid, going there with my late father. It was one of those places that helped build a lifelong love for RC cars and the hobby itself. Now, decades later, I genuinely enjoy taking my own children there and sharing that same experience with them. It's something really special to me and my family. That's why this situation has been so hard. I dropped off an RC truck for repair and expected it might take some time. What I didn't expect was how long it actually took -- months and months passed while I waited. Eventually, when I called to check on it, I was told the truck had already been surrendered after 90 days. That news was absolutely heartbreaking. This wasn't just a piece of equipment to me. It was something I had invested a lot into and something tied to years of enjoyment in this hobby. I understand that businesses have policies, and I don't doubt they have rules in place, but learning about it only after the fact made the loss feel even worse. What makes this especially difficult is that I truly love this store. It's been part of my life story from childhood to now as a parent. I honestly can't imagine not going there anymore, and that's what makes this situation so emotionally complicated for me. I'm not posting this to attack anyone. I'm just really torn and hurt by how this played out, and I wish there had been more communication before it reached that point.

They really cater to a broad range of hobbies, which makes it a fun place to browse even beyond what you came in for. Prices were reasonable for the items I browsed and purchased. Definitely worth a visit!

It's possibly the best location geographically within the Twin Cities. The owners have recently expanded the game space to include the old dry cleaners behind the store ... more tables for the miniatures gamers ... yay! The staff are very helpful. There's a plethora of new games inventory, including dice, paints, and other do-dads that any gamer needs or wants. There's an amazing selection of snacks, drinks, and ice cream at a reasonable price. The Cafe Menu is also very good and priced well. Sadly, I will be leaving this part of my life behind, moving out of state. I will miss the friends and acquaintances I've made, and people I meet whenever I'm here. Lastly, this place has become a home away from home every Saturday I'm in the store. Thanks Mike, Craig, and BGC Staffers.

The place is HUGE and was decently busy when I stopped in. It definitely was busier a few hours later when k drove by again. I would say it definitely feels spacious but it also feels cold and not incredibly welcoming but I guess I don't need it to be or expect it to be.

Replying to one star comment on here. You probably won't ever read this. But I'm sorry you had a…read morebad experience. Hobby grade RC is really far from toys for kids. It may have evolved from adults who still love toys and you may see it that way because of the scale details. But it's a very involved hobby. And if the parent isn't willing to get involved, the kid has no chance. I challenge you to do a little homework and get a car yourself. That is honestly the only way to take the hobby seriously. But with all that aside, I showed up as a very nervous adult who has never driven RC drift before. I brought my own car that I had just set up and they were more than helpful to answer any questions. I can't remember the pricing exactly but I was surprised, it is very reasonable. A seasoned patron was there, and he was even more helpful! I begrudgingly asked him to borrow his tools to move my motor from stock position to up high. He basically grabbed my car, did it for me and we chatted the whole time. I had a great experience. Thanks Ken G!!! They also rent cars, if I would've known that, I would've checked this place out a lot sooner. But I wanted to finish my car and get it somewhat ready to tune. So with that being said, I highly highly highly recommend this place for anybody into any type of RC or looking to get into a new fun somewhat involved, VERY rewarding Hobby.

They do have quite of selection of imported goods alongside American IP merchandise. The prices range from reasonable to pricey, so you may get lucky with a steal! The saleswoman behind the stand was so kind and patient with us. There were a few products I was eyeing and she pulled each and every one of them out individually in order for me to get a better look. Even the assortment of acrylic keychains, she went through each one individually until she found the character I wanted. She didn't have to but it was such a lovely gesture! We got to talking about our favorite characters, and once we found out we shared the same interest, she pulled out this pristine vintage plush from hidden behind the counter and offered it to me at a decent price, and I knew I had to get it then and there (as well as the keychain). I'm nowhere near their brick and mortar store, but if you happen upon these people at a local con, check them out! They're knowledgable and friendly and a pleasure to deal with!
