Although now I am a long distance customer, the time that I lived in Stillwater this was a place of happiness for me. Everyone was always happy to help with anything from selecting a pattern to different ideas on yarn to make it your own look. Had a little bonding day with my daughter today and we spent it exploring downtown Stillwater. We stopped in all the little shops down Main Street. However, this one stood out the most to me. Not only did it have a cute name. It was housed in a very cute building. Filled with a treasure trove of items for your favorite knitter/ crochet(er). Both my daughter and I are oblivious newbies to this art and when asking the friendly staff on where to start they did not judge. Instead of shoving expensive how to books or starter kits or other sales pitch ideas down our throats... they actually LISTENED to us and instead suggested a YouTube channel to watch as guidance. They were helpful, kind and friendly. We most certainly will be back! read more

This has hands down been my favorite yarn shop for years, even though I live out of state and have shopped in yarn shops overseas as well. Since we don't live locally I'm only able to shop here 2-3 times/year. Yesterday Aimee assisted me over the phone regarding an online purchase, and I won't go into specifics, but her customer service was far beyond what I could have expected. If you are not familiar with the shop, it's chock full of amazing yarn and pattern kits, as well as knitting tools, bags, and various giftie items. My husband loves when I shop here because he hangs out in the 'lounge' next door (inside access from the shop) which means I can take as long as I want looking at yarn haha. read more

Mercy!! I'll have to drive two hours to get here but it'll definitely be worth the trip if only to sit 'n knit. I came to Stillwater to visit a friend and discovered this incredible knit shop. Huge selection of beautiful yarns; warm, and comfortable atmosphere with an enormous room with a fireplace; various groupings of easy chairs, sofas and coffee tables throughout; floor-to-ceiling windows that provided for great lighting, and a very long table at one end where two classes were being held, one at each end, with about 5-6 ladies in each class. It was a Saturday and most all sitting areas were occupied but ladies we're coming and going the three hours I was there. There's seating in a balcony too and in the summertime there are chairs and tables in an adjoining garden area. But, all that aside, it's the staff that made the greatest impression. They were so welcoming and helpful. I bought two skeins of lovely yarn, one clerk--maybe an owner--wound it without my asking; the other gave me a pattern, no charge, and offered to show me how to do a knit behind stitch. I'll drive two hours in a heartbeat, maybe even stay overnight to take a class. read more

Wow, wow, wow. This place is so cute and really has got it right in terms of product, decor, classes, staff and location. Stillwater is such a cute little place to go and spend a day and this adorable shop tops that experience off. I've been there twice and both times the staff have been exceptionally friendly, chatty and willing to help. Looks like there's a great classroom facility so you don't have classes taking up room in the shop itself. Very good variety of yarn and a small selection of very cool fabrics/sewing misc. What a great shop!! I wish I lived close enough to be a regular. Everyone was super nice and they seemed to really have it all and something for every type of knitter. There was a class or a group meeting while I was looking around the store, and while I was checking out they had 3 stacks of books for their upcoming book groups - all of this looked and sounded so fun! If you live in Stillwater, enjoy this place! As far as selection, they have great brands and some that I haven't seen before but liked. They also carry a selection of fabric in the back so if you sew or want/need a lining or a border, there are some cute ones back there. I walked out of there with Coastal Knits (I thought I'd have to order online but have now saved on shipping!), some Malabrigo yarn - I love seeing these in person and getting my squoosh on, and a yarn bowl (beautiful and they have a bunch of these - again great to see and buy in person!). read more

A cute shop that is right at home in Downtown Stillwater. If you love to knit, they have oodles of yarn, needles, roving etc. There are plenty of big windows to let the light in so you can see the yarn. There is a big class area off to the side so you wont feel cramped while learning. There is a parking lot right outside (free from oct-april). The best part are the comfy couches in the back. They have a great selection of yarn and supplies, but their greatest asset is their staff. They are fun and welcoming and helpful. Before we had ever spent a dollar in the store, they spent an hour helping my daughter with her crocheting. I had been calling around looking for a class for her, without much luck. This is an absolutely lovely store. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help. A very well rounded variety of yarn and the colors are all neatly organized which makes for easier shopping. The samples are adorable and the gift area in the front is perfect if you're looking to give a handmade item but don't have the time to make it yourself. The classroom looks amazing and I wished I lived closer to Stillwater so I could actually join in. The store was definitely worth the drive from Eau Claire and I will be back! I used to love this store until I took a class & returned for a question. Although I was helped right away my question seemed to upset the woman working (not one of the two helpful and lovely owners). She ended up raising her voice, telling me I did something wrong & then conceded that there was indeed something inconsistent between the pattern & the class. The staff is so helpful and, as long as it's not Black Friday or an otherwise super busy day, they'll wind your yarn purchases into balls for you! This is my VERY favorite yarn store!! I have been to most all in the cities. I drive 45 minutes to get there and I drive past several yarn stores on the way! The staff is always helpful and they treat you as if you are family rather than a number and wanting to sell you something! Much of why I continue there is because they treat me very well and treat my challenging daughter with extreme respect! They are amazing in every single way!!! I can honestly say that this place has the best customer service I have EVER encountered. If you frequent yarn stores, you will be pleasantly surprised to find that there is no yarn snootiness here! This shop is really something special for crafters. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. There is a ton of yarn in a small space, and the staff is very helpful. They carry yarn standards like Cascade 220 and Berroco and other harder to find brands like Dream in Color and Three Irish Girls.
