It's a Native-owned bookstore that I'm so glad we stopped in while we were visiting Minneapolis. The book selection was wonderful and I wanted to read everything, but they also have a lot of other nonbook items to buy. There was an array of items from Native-owned brands and artists, including gorgeous cards, teas, magnets, and so forth. The decor was so great - see photos, including of a Louise Erdrich quote that moved me as I think about grief. What a wonderful place.

My Mom got a peony type flower made out of old sewing patterns! Super cute! Our other fave ideas were old coffee carafes as planters and Ball jars painted metallic! So it is literally right above the Bibelot and next door to Sebastian Joe's. Karen Lang, the owner, greeted my girlfriend and I and she was very welcoming. You will find a variety of different gift ideas here by local artisans. I picked up a leather key holder but there are baby clothes, handmade jewelry, Muddy Mouth greeting cards, hand-stitched ties, Love Your Melon Beanies (that raise money for kids with cancer) and much more. There is also a great selection of refurbished and hand painted furniture. My girlfriend was interested in a dresser and mirror that was refurbished. Moved to California 30+ years ago and every time I'm in town I gotta take a peek and do that whole nostalgia trip in my head-if only the walls could talk, OH MY! I love the creaking floors as you walk across the showroom remembering those sounds heard in the basement packing my own orders to ensure in stock items were shipped. The cast of characters that visited and cool musicians- one day Devo came popping through handing out 3-D buttons with those flower pot looking things on their heads and strange jumpsuits. "It's not too late To whip it Into shape Shape it up Get straight Go forward Move ahead" my daughter wore my old jacket from 1979 (in picture) . The nice staff were very friendly and enamored with the jacket and the manager took some pictures which gave my daughter a huge tickle. I think the cat's name is Bob Fuchs and he's been there since the late '80s and a good ambassador of the brand and so kind to indulge us.
