Hub Hobby Center: A Five-Star Haven for Hobbies and Memories - Hub Hobby Center is so much more…read morethan just a store - its a place that's right at home in my family's hearts and been a go to destination that's consistently wowed me and my family for years now. It's got a magic to it that's still sparking my imagination and creating lasting happy memories for me at every stage of my life. I've been lucky enough to have been visiting Hub Hobby Center for as long as I can remember. Living just a 10 minute drive away made it a regular visit for us before the pandemic - usually a weekly one when I was 10 or younger. Those were the days I was completely beside myself with excitement because my dad would always treat us to the latest and greatest in helicopters and drones. I got such a kick out of picking out a new Spincopter and as my parents always remind me now - I was completely captivated for what felt like hours by those incredible model railroad displays in the store. Its just one of those places that really has a sense of wonder to it - a place that genuinely sparks your imagination with absolutely everything they have on offer - from high-flying drones and intricate models to just the most adorable little stuffed animals you've ever seen. Even as my interests changed and evolved, Hub Hobby Center has always been a place that brought me joy. My visits took on a different feel after the pandemic - I remember the fun I have had with my mom on trips to hunt for the most ridiculous looking plushies - we'd find these super unique and quirky stuffed friends that just perfectly matched our mood. And that pretty much sums it up - the amazing abundance of everything they have on offer at Hub Hobby Center - from the serious stuff - drones, model railroads etc. - to the silly stuff - cuddly companions & craft supplies - they really do have something for every age and every interest. Even though I've moved about 20 minutes away now, I still feel the pull of Hub Hobby pretty strongly. I still make the occasional trip out there with my family - a testament to the quality of their inventory, the super friendly atmosphere and the sheer joy it brings. It's more than just a shop - it's a place where childhood dreams actually come true. Especially when it comes to those helicopters! And for anyone looking for a new hobby, a one off gift or just a place to rekindle a sense of wonder and have a great time browsing through all the cool stuff they have - then Hub Hobby Center is honestly a must-visit. It may have made an even bigger impact on my early childhood than I even realized at the time and its still the first place my family and I think of when we need to get into some hobby-related goods - that's why I'm more than happy to give it 5 stars

Nerd heaven! I've been to a previous Dreamers up in Minneapolis; this one has a smaller footprint…read more Primarily you'll find lots of figures/models and supplies to paint them, as well as some guidebooks and dice sets. They also have some collectibles and plushies. Toward the back they have a small selection of board games. They have space in the back with tables and chairs for meet-ups and gaming nights. Also to support this they have snacks and beverages for sale at a reasonable price. I was greeted by the employee when I entered, and he kindly asked if I was looking for anything and to let him know if I needed any help. I appreciated his acknowledgement, yet hands-off-ness since I was just there to do a little light browsing to get a feel for what was there. (I did almost buy my husband a mug for the upcoming holidays, as it was Critical Role themed and he's a fan of that series.) You could definitely find gifts for friends here. Dreamers also offers all military/vets/first responders a 10% discount daily, if you happen to fall into any of those categories.

Thanks to all the regulars as well, it's a great community of people, so don't be afraid to sit down and play!

I've never bothered to actually check in to Games by James via yelp but I'm glad I did this time…read morebecause I got a free fidget spinner out of it. The quality wasn't the greatest but it was free so I'll take what I can get. Since the store wasn't super busy on a Tuesday night my friend and I got some nice recommendations from the guy that was working in the store. My colleague tends to play party games so his lighter multiplayer recommendations made sense. My partner on the other hand prefers heavy euros but I didn't feel like asking about those this time around although I did see them carry some heavier games. There were a group of older adults playing a board game on the long tables in the back. I remember reading about magic the gathering nights so I imagine it might be nice to play here during weeknights when the mall isn't super busy. Also I noticed Games by James sponsored a play area for kids right next to the store. There's giant Jenga, connect 4 and bean bags to keep the little ones occupied while you shop.

With my return to the office becoming imminent, I knew the chips were down when it came to obtaining brain reset tools. One of my favorites is a good brain teaser, so Rush Hour was the order of the day. Being who I am, I was instantly distracted by all of the familiar old friends. I was lucky that Nathaniel was the one showing me where to find Rush Hour. The man knew everything about each one of the games that I was curious about. He even showed me games that were related to my old favorites (Arkham Horror, namely). I didn't get any of the wonderful cooperative games today, but I know I will be back when I find my game crew. This is a fantastic place to go for anyone who enjoys board games, card games, and puzzles.
