My parents ordered a lovely custom frame from this location. However, the customer service was beyond terrible after purchasing it. The original invoice stated that the order would be ready around March 10th. Since today is March 9th, my parents attempted to call the store to follow up. Oddly, someone answered then hung up on them without saying "Hello" or "Please excuse us". This happened 3 times! On the fourth try, the employee on the other line just yelled at my dad! The voice was female, and they were literally yelling loud enough for all of us to hear that our order is not ready. My dad took a deep breath and calmly asked, "Excuse me, but we haven't given you our names or the order number yet." They responded, "Oh, I know. You're calling for [random person's name]." Then we asked, "How would you be able to know? We still haven't given our name or order, plus we never used this phone number to call the store or have it on the invoice." They then snapped, "It doesn't matter. Your order is not ready to pick up." We then requested to cancel our order, and she went ballistic! This employee continued to yell while we remained quiet and calm. Luckily for us, we confirmed that this rude employee was Michelle. We then called our credit card company and explained our situation. They were able to give us a credit equal to the refund, and they let us know that this store is legally obligated to give us a full refund. They also let us know that it is our right to pick up the item anyway since we paid in full. Since we were in the area, we decided to pay a visit. When the employees in the front had a minute, we explained our situation. They immediately called the management, and the store manager sympathized with us. They got with the department manager, and this person was visibly irritated with us. Luckily, the store manager was still with us, so they begrudgingly gave us a full refund. Although we were able to nick this issue in the bud, we do not recommend purchasing from the frame section of this store - or at the very least when Michelle is working. It is sad to state the obvious - don't take your stress out on other people! read more

This review is for the custom framing department. Having used this department for several pieces I am a fan. For openers, the staff in this area are very friendly and extremely patient. There have been a few times where it took me a couple of hours to decide on a frame/matte combination. Through it all they are always very understanding and supportive; often asking additional questions to help me in the process. Michaels' has a nice selection of frames in a variety of styles, colors and finishes. Equally as versatile is their matte selection which covers the spectrum in colors, finish, etc. One would be hard pressed to leave here and not find something they liked. With so many choices, it can be challenging to decide on a frame and/or matte. Thankfully, Michaels' has nice process that is computer driven. They capture and image of what is being framed and from there the frame and matte styles can be applied presenting a glimpse of what the final product will look like. Overall, I'm very pleased with this location and will continue to do my custom framing here. read more

Every time I come in Ruth is at the registers and she always makes sure I apply my rewards to save while I spend. Ruth is friendly and quick to help. The store is super bright and clean. Full of creative possibilities, if only I was creative! I found a few varieties of wax warmers at awesome prices to begin with, so I was thrilled to be able to tack on a 50% discount! I was just chatting with a "Karla" on the chat feature on your website. I put her name in quotes because I am assuming I am talking to a robot. There was an item that I wanted to purchase, but with the CRISIS going on right now, I would not have expected your business to even be open. I would do curb side or online ordering. I asked her why the item that I wanted wasn't pulling up. After she took a few minutes, she told me "I'm sorry that item is not available for online ordering." Um thanks, I could have told you that. She then told me that if I wanted it, I had to go INTO THE STORE and purchase it. I'm not sure if she realizes that there is worldwide pandemic going on right now. YOUR employee, actually told me that if I wanted the item, I had to come into the store. Then, after I questioned that, she told me I could call the manager of the store and see if there is anything they could do. If she REALLY wanted to help me, which is very obvious she either did not or had no answers for me, she would have told me she would be able to call. Michael's has it all when it comes to seasonal decorating and hobbies, so it is hard to avoid this place if it is your thing! The prices though are high, and that is about the only drawback I see in them. Sales on art supplies are the main reason I shop here. Michaels is one of those stores that has sales and online coupons every week (kind of like another popular craft store chain that shall remain un-named here). Avoid buying anything full price here unless you're having some bizarre craft emergency -- I'm sure it could happen, but so far I guess I've been lucky to dodge that bullet. They have a decent selection of canvases, although I don't find them to be as high of quality as the ones sold at art specialty stores. They also carry Golden Acrylics, Liquitex and their own store brand of paints and mediums. Easel selection is minimal, but they have a good basic selection of brushes. Of course there are tons of other craft accoutrements too: yarn & fiber art supplies, floral supplies & ribbon, frames & pre-cut mats, kids craft kits & models, wooden cut-outs, cake decorating supplies, scrapbooking, holiday decor and craft items, mass-produced home decor items that look like they were hand crafted using the materials from the store, and pretty much anything else you could think of for your newest Pinterest inspiration. I am livid right now. I have shopped at Michael's for more years than I can remember. In recent years I've noticed changes in their service. With Covid, I do all my shopping online. I placed an order 9 days ago and I'm still waiting. I clicked on the "track order" that sent me to another companies website. It wants a shipping number that wasn't provided. I called the 800 number, after much time on the phone they tell me that when the shipping label was made there was no tracking number???? Where is the quality control???? They said I could try back tomorrow? What good is that going to do. I notice that they are using a shipping company I've never heard of, why not use companies that we've relied on for years; UPS or USPS? Saving money isn't always the way to go. Calling the 800 number they give letters instead of numbers 800-Michaels. What about Senior Citizens, trying to dial this, why can't they list numbers to make it easier for them. Heads need to roll at the top of the chain, very poor management. read more

This is the cleanest, most well organized Michaels I've ever had the pleasure of being inside of (that's what she said!). Not only were things easy to find, but the employees actually knew where things were supposed to be and were willing to take you to their locations. The prices are pretty standard, but they do always seem to be having some kind of sale, usually on frames (right now it's buy one get one half off or free) and canvases. The store itself is almost the size of a bed bath and beyond, with the restrooms located in the back toward the right. Definitely the best Michael's in DFW and worth the extra driving to get here if you don't live nearby! The store itself is sandwiched between a rack room shoes (bogo sales abound) and a grouping of Ross/TJMaxx/Homegoods stores in a big store strip mall which also includes a huge Target, an ulta, and some other shops in modern storefronts. The staff here is not friendly at all.They will not greet you nor will they ask you if you need any help. In case you need help good luck finding someone to help. They run out of advertised items quickly and never restock,this is especially true for seasonal items! I never go to this location after Black Friday as it gets super crowded with long lines at the checkout! My last trip there was definitely better.They now have a manager Brian who is friendly and knows what is in stock at his and other stores. I love Michaels but I want to make bracelets. So I bought two clasps. One worked out successfully but the other one failed. It was $2.99. It didn't work. It's called CLASP FILIGREE on the receipt. I didn't keep the packaging for it but I returned. Literally, no point in buying them because they do not work. Just take my word for it. I advise Michaels to check into that and fix the problem and to please notify when they are fixed because they are so cute! read more

Unless you come here often and craft stores are your thing. Me personally, I'm used to getting cheap-o and standard, limited stock stuff from WalMart if I have to do something artsy. But not here, you can have ANYTHING, completely customized to your liking. The world is your canvas and this place is your pallet. They have any and everything you can imagine. Actually I used to work there i just quit today and the management SUCKS there. They tell me i have to have my I 9 finished in order to get paid i was actually able to get that done last week after over a month of working there. they owe me three pay check stubs. I have been bussing my behind for free trying to help customers as much as I can. and the manager has the nerve to get an attitude bc i call and let him know im not coming in until i get paid. it makes no sense for me to come in for free (because thats what ive been doing) continuously with no pay. so i have been trying to get in touch with someone so i can get my pay because i am never recommending any one work there ever‍. its crazy, my first week they had me doing stuff and i was ok but they just left me. they don't physically train you to do shit. most of the time your by your self. apparently i was supposed to do my i 9 within the first 3 days that never happened and i brought my stuff up there ready. and again a second time he tells me to bring it again a third time and is telling the other manager that he gave me a damn week no the hell you didn't, you gave me a specific day.
