Cisco in framing was absolutely fantastic in helping picking out a frame for a poster. He was personable and so helpful.

Went here on a Tuesday evening with a few co-workers. We had a great time and ended up filling 6 carts. Insane, I know, but the carts are small and there were crazy good deals and with the added coupons and clearance items we made out well. Very pleased with the service. There were three female associates that helped us find things and even held a few full carts up at the front while we kept shopping. It was fun checking out as we all joked around and the associates were fun and friendly. The store is very well kept and well stocked. Two thumbs up! read more

I love this store, I have two little girls, four and two years old. Often times I take the girls just to get out of the house and we end up spending $15 and come home with many of little fun activities to do. Would not even give them 1 star except you can't post a 0 star review!! DO NOT USE THIS STORE! Especially their framing services. I scheduled an appointment online and received a confirmation email. I left work early for the appointment. When I arrived the framing person acted annoyed and said they had a guest in town and needed to leave. When I stated I had a scheduled appointment he called someone else in the store over to have them do my appointment. She had NO framing experience. Unbelievable lack of respect for customer's time! Why didn't they send an email cancelling the appointment? Why did they allow an appointment to be scheduled? And to act like the customer is annoying to be there??? I will NEVER spend my money in this store again and will probably never use any Michaels or Aarron Brothers Framing again!!! read more

Normally, I wouldn't review an arts and crafts store but today was just eerie. I walked in looking for a frame for a certificate. I walked to the back where the frames were and started aimlessly walking around. The frames lady signaled me and pointed me over to the frames I was looking for without me saying anything. The lady can read minds. Good thing she didn't read my mind during "Anson happy time". I walked in and out in less than 5 minutes. When my time in an arts and crafts store is kept to a minimum, Anson is happy...not "Anson happy time" happy, just happy. read more

Literally the second time I've walked into the store and been told "Sorry, the registers aren't taking credit. Again." It's getting pretty old. The location might be close, but I'd honestly rather drive out to the Dulles Landing store to make sure I can actually get what I need. This is getting super frustrating. read more

Large, spacious, well-lit and well-stocked. This Michael's is the best in the DC area, IMO. I asked Santiago (the manager) if he had eyelets, and he said yes and immediately led me to an obscure corner of the store (right by the front door). I have no complaints. read more

Went to get something framed. I picked out my frame and matte....and the frame person wrote down the wrong frame number. I didn't know this until I went to pick up my picture, and apparently it's all my fault. I was supposed to know what the frame number was. How could I not know! so now I'm stuck with a frame I didn't choose. I won't be back because I can't memorize all your item codes. read more

I brought an 8x10 photo to their custom framing department because they had a sale going on and said that it could be ready in 3 days. WELL...not only did they not have it ready for two whole weeks, they FORGOT THE FRAME! When I came back to pick up the framed product they handed me the matted photo and glass without the custom frame! The manager claimed that the order for the frame was deleted and that they tried to call me. Even worse, they never once offered to refund my money...they just wanted me to wait ANOTHER 2 days for them to make the frame that they deleted. I had to argue with them for an hour before they refunded my money and I took the matted photo and glass to a local shop where they made my frame in less than 24 hours. I will NEVER shop at this Michaels again. Bad service, poor management, and incompetent people. read more

Not impressed with the framing department. While they seem to have good sales, the bottom line is the number of fees and services charged don't make them more competitive than other framers. The amount of time to get a piece back, depending on the work, varies; however, being told consistently that it will take two weeks that turns into three is unacceptable. Being told that they have to do repairs to your piece as well as others before it's ready is not assuring. Shop around before considering this as choice just for convenience. read more

We had a terrible experience at the Framing department at this store. At first the staff was helpful in the long process of designing our project; however, they misinformed us about the availability of products and we had to wait an extra week for the materials. They didn't call us when it was ready--we had to call to ask. Then when we picked up our work it was not done correctly. They offered to fix it and promised it the next day. When we went to get it they had not even begun the work and they could not complete it for several days! This was for a minor correction, by the way. We demanded a full refund and took our business elsewhere. Awful customer service. Absolutely no effort to try to make the situation right. The staff was clueless and apathetic. read more

Unfortunately, poor customer service led me to have to drive to another location to purchase items for upcoming celebrations. I was very rudely treated when I indicated I would be using my Michael's-issued coupons for my purchases. I had more than one coupon. At the time I was called to the register there was no one else left on line. I was the last person on line. Yet, the female working the cash register (Her name tag read, Sam, and I believe it even identified her as assistant manager), felt the need to immediately tell me that if I needed to use more than one coupon she would have to send me to the back of the line (there was no line at this time). I informed her that I would not be comfortable with that, and hoped it would not come to such treatment. Halfway through my purchase 2 people formed a line. Sam decided to tell me that I would have to get back to the end of the line because I was using coupons. At this time I had only one coupon left to use (it was 3 coupons altogether, not 100), I had a crying baby in my arms, and yet she felt that the right thing to do would be to send me on a lap around the store with my crying baby and cart of items to purchase because I had the audacity to show up and ask to use coupons that were issued by michael's to me because of previous purchases I made. At this time, there were 2 registers open and 1 additional register opened up as she asked me to leave her counter. 3 registers and two people on line. Do the math. I was going to circle around the counter just to come right back. Not only was this associate rude, but displayed incredibly poor judgement. I was appalled and left the store without completing my purchase. I would rather drive to another location and be accepted with respect and have store-issued coupons honored, than to listen to this women's unintelligent instruction. That being said, I went to AC Moore to buy the same exact supplies. I include all the details regarding how many people were on line compared to registers open, to fully illustrate how ridiculous this was. This happened on a Wednesday afternoon, when most the population is at work or school; not on a very busy weekend when I would understand if I was causing the line to back up. Lastly, I called the store to speak with a manager about my experience. However, the person who answered never transferred me to a manager and also refused to identify herself over the phone; despite the conventional standard of business greetings upon answering a business phone to include your name so the client calling can know who they are speaking with. Three times I asked who I was speaking with and three times the female brushed off my question and then never transferred me. good luck. read more

I frequent this store a lot. The manager Sandy is a vicious person and I was there when she berated one of her workers for no good reason over the mikes they carry and in front of the entire store. I was brought to tears, but cheered when that worker quit on the spot. Michael, the assistant manager is very helpful and extremely kind, hardworking, and very knowledgable. As is equally so Kristen who seems to know the store like the back of her hand. Two workers stand out in my mind as outstanding, Kerri and Jessie. They both know the store well, are always courteous, and seem like very hard workers. How any of them put up with Sandy's vicious ways is beyond me. Overall, very pleasant experience when the Manager is not there. read more
