Not a nice place to shop. It's hard to find anything and much of the stuff is low quality. At the register, some of the items don't scan properly and there's often a problem. The receipt they gave me last time was ineligible. I only go to Michael's because sometimes when you're building something you have to see things in living size and color whereas online it's difficult to know exactly what you're getting; otherwise I wouldn't go near this place. First went to the Michaels in Boca Raton and the card stock item was sold out so drove to this Delray store since their website confirmed that the card stock item was in their store's inventory. My daughter could not find the card stock item on the shelf. The one floor stock employee was located and asked where card stock items were at she exhaustedly pointed to the opposite side of the store where my daughter was diligently searching. My daughter asked assistance from the check-out counter staff who advised her that their website was three weeks behind on inventory. Where are the managers? If this was accurate information they should place that on their website before wasting fuel getting there. So again, we left annoyed. read more

Went to this store to buy a frame and Sal in the framing department was AMAZING!! She helped me pick out a frame and worked incredibly hard to get the artwork aligned perfectly. The customer service is horrible. I did a stored transfer and waited for the call back to hear from them that my item was there and nobody called. I gave them a few extra days and called, they said they put the item back on the shelf because they can only hold it for so long. I needed to speak with the store manager to go thru the longggg process again to only be told they would have to call be back. Let me tell you. They don't call you back. They don't do what they say. I was given many recommendations to use this particular location. To say the least, experience has been terrible! I bought an original painting that needed To be stretched and framed at the Aaron brothers part of Michaels. I consulted with a woman about the specifics and was excited about the prospectus. I can't tell you how upset I am upon hanging the painting. Truthfully, a 3 year old can provide a more even, neater, cleaner job! The run around that I am receiving in regards to getting this matter resolved! Absolutely awful! Come back and talk to this person, call this person, come back between these times... I work full time and don't have the leisure time or desire to jump on demand. I am told to get a refund, Which isn't guaranteed, I have to surrender the painting. I took a very special, large canvas artwork there to be framed. To make a long story short, my artwork was thrown away, lost or possibly stolen. I have been shopping in Michael's for over 20 years. I went to this location a month ago to purchase items for my art class that I teach on that day. The girl at the register told me she can not give me change of my $100 bill, as her register didn't gave it. I asked for the manager & she said she's not calling them. I said what? Your actually not going to take my sale? She said NO! I told her I was calling corporate. I immediately called & reported the issue. I received an email that the district manager will contact me in 24-48 hours. That was almost a month ago. I emailed then & they again said I'll be contacted. Nothing! I wish this store were organized a little better/ differently. I come here often because of my side hustle *shoulder brush* which is sign making and decor, but I feel like there are things all over the store with odd placement. Wooden/chalkboard signs are in like three different spots. It's also quite difficult to get assistance when needed. Those are the reasons I am knocking off a star. Other than that, the store is clean, well stocked, and I am always able to use coupons, so I always get great deals. This Michael's is pretty good. Definitely not the best of all of them but they have everything I need for crafting and I like the weekly specials they run. My only 2 negatives are that the lines are always crazy long and it takes forever to check out... Very often I put my things back and leave because of the horribly long lines. Secondly, there doesn't seem to be enough staff to answer questions... If I have a question I will end up spending 30 to 45 minutes as opposed to 10 minutes in the store. read more

However, if you have anything that's a one-of-a-kind, I would most definitely not recommend this shop. What a disappointment and waste of very precious time. Whenever I need art supplies (they have a nice range of different canvases and paints), some basic sewing supplies or am working on some new crafty project I always come to this Michaels. It's only about a 10 minute drive away from me which is great! The closer the better, because I DESPISE driving in Florida! I'd say the main issue I have with this Michaels is that there is never anyone on the floor to answer your questions and help you. Seeing as I can never find what I'm looking for (the setup is really cluttered and confusing) I almost always need help finding something! They also offer classes in painting and cake decorating. Although I miss Books a Million, I am happy that Michael's took over the space. Whenever I'm planning a party or event I usually get my decor from Michaels. They have a variety of festive, reasonably priced items. However this particular location is a disgrace to the brand. The customer service is unbelievably terrible. I went in to return an item. I had my receipt and the item was in its original packaging. I was told by the cashier that I had to go back to the store I purchased the item to return it. I never heard of such a thing! I asked to speak to the manager and this so call manager tells me as long as I have my receipt she'll accept it, half way through her sentence the cashier interrupts her and says "we can't take this item with or without a receipt." The manager gives her a confused look and agrees. What kind of manager is that?! One without a brain or commonsense. Nevertheless, I called their corporate office and asked about their return policy and explained what happened. I was told that the store should have accepted my return since I had my receipt. Corporate offered to call the store to allow me to return the item however I was so aggravated that I did not want to go back. I went to the Sunrise location and they accepted my return with pleasure. I would go back to any Michaels but this one. The staff is HORRIBLE, and a disgrace to the Michaels brand. Refused to give me my full credit of my exchanged item without my receipt even though i was spending 6 times the amount of the credit in another purchase. DO NOT LET THEM FRAME YOUR STITCHERY!! I brought a stitchery to them and paid a lot to get it framed with mats and glass. 10 days later they called for me to pick up. I was shocked to see the entire RIGHT side of the stitchery was covered by the mats and it was obvious...all the dates were missing the last 2 numbers and the word "shoes" was cut off to "shoe." Obviously they incorrectly measured or cut the mats wrong. They promised to fix. I was shocked late the next day when they called me to pick up the stitchery. When I did, I noticed a sticky substance all around the back of the frame. The girl said that was because they had to remove the tape to re-center the stitchery. They did not re-size the mats so therefore I now have a stitchery missing one inch of stitching on the LEFT side of the piece. All those months of work and it looks horrible. They didn't care about my stitchery or they would have framed it properly from the start...and according to the picture they gave me on my receipt. NEVER AGAIN WILL I SHOP THERE! I signed up for Beading 101 for beginners a free class. , I spent one hour on Wed. evening buying $62 worth or supplies and raced to the class from work on Thurs. evening at 6pm. The instructor, Pam, did not show up. Another student was also waiting. We were told the store manager did not notify the instructor that students were scheduled. Both the manager and instructor are incompetent. The instructor should had checked with the manager. The class is posted on the monthly store events calendar.
