We drive by all the time but today decided to stop in, and glad we did. We were greeted immediately and not rushed into placing an order. The speciality sandwiches all sounded sooo good it was hard to choose. The roast beef was so delicious, it was rare and sliced thin, the bun was so soft and just the right amount of chew to it, I had the Micbeth hold the onions do he offered another choice of veggie. Just tried this place for the first time - definitely stop by if you're looking for a sandwich. I got an Italian on a sub roll - you can tell that the deli meat was freshly sliced and the veg was fresh as well. What a great little deli and sandwich shop. The thing that means the most to me is being greeted with a smile. The staff and owner all said hello. I like a clean place with sparkling display cases full of fresh product and I got it here. There's enough choices on the sign to satisfy anyone. I ordered the egg salad with bacon on a spinach wrap. I picked an Australian root beer. Beats many domestic brands. Outstanding! As my old Marine boss would say. While the pastries are made by an outside baker, Michael makes his own muffins. About seven varieties. I had the morning Glory. OMG! He has a minimum of $10.00 on cards. While I was there, a steady stream of customers came in; Michael knows them all. Great sandwiches at a friendly mom and pop type deli

2nd time we have gotten food from here and it's either not what we ordered or so poorly made it's inedible. This time we got a veggies wrap with goat cheese, there was so much on it you could taste nothing else. Also ordered a chicken cutlet no cheese, not only did they put cheese but also bacon and pickles it was like eating pure salt. Really fresh coffee regular and flavored, hot or iced and pastry/muffins all the time. Great stop for midday break or just before heading on long ride or just to go to a picnic. We were going to Bass Pro Shops to get a gift card and looked on Yelp for a sandwich place in the area for lunch and decided to try this place. Friendly staff and great food. Wife had a great egg salad on rye with lettuce, tomato and mayo. I had one of the specials for the day, the #1, chipotle chicken, bacon, mayo, tomato and cheese. I had it on the whole wheat wrap. Sandwiches were a nice size. Saved our other halves for later. Also had a cup of the thai chicken soup which was fantastic! Also picked up a fig square on the way out. Haven't had it yet but it looks good. Will definitely go back again. Want to try some different soups! read more

I went to here today for the first and last time. I went in around noon. There was a mom and her son finishing their order and no one else. They moved aside and I waited a few minutes. When the deli person finally asked what I would like I asked for a half pound of turkey. They looked around frazzled, so I repeated myself. Then the person I assume is the owner, yelled "We're in the middle of lunch!" They then said we don't slice meats during the lunch rush, from 11-1. Well excuse me "Michael" but the sign on your building says deli and cafe. If you're not going to slice meat during certain times of the day you ought to post it, or hire more help so you don't have to turn locals away. And maybe take a lesson in customer service. I recommend you go to Trader Joe's. And folks for a real deli that also has the BEST sandwiches check out J's deli in Cumberland, RI. read more

Best sandwich place around! Mike's Deli isn't a chain and their sandwiches are awesome. I love the veggie because it has an awesome sauce and isn't just tomatoes and lettuce. They let you pick the cheese and the price is reasonable. They aren't "5 dollar footlongs" but the flavor is better. I've heard the Joe's Thanksgiving is good too. Was very pleased with my decision to stop in this deli for a quick bite got a thanksgiving and a piece of carrot cake awesome sandwich and possibly one of the best carrot cakes ive ever had. Unfortunately they lost a customer today. I called to place an order on the phone and the woman who answered was extremely rude and then proceeded to cut me off as I was trying to give her my order. She stated that it was very busy that's why she was rushing me off the phone ( implying I was talking too slow which definitely was not the case ). I had 2 sandwiches to order that's it. She just seem disgruntled and like she didn't want to be at work. I was so turned off by this that I told her never mind and I'd like to cancel my order. When I called back to let the manager ( mike) know of this encounter, all he did was back up his employee by telling me that " unless you work down here in the trenches you don't understand how stressful it is" 100% condoning his employees behavior to take her stress out on me because it was busy. Used to be the best sandwich in a 50-mile radius, hands down. Loved the McBeth, and the best cold Italian sub you could get. Fresh soft rolls, a pile of meat four inches thick (trust me, any exaggeration there isn't by much), and cheaper than what you'd get at the local house of pizza. I worked half day Friday's and stopped on my way home weekly and it wouldn't be uncommon to make another stop sometime during the week. These sandwiches were the shit. Mike was always there, he'd know you by name if you were in often and even if you were a one-time customer he'd ring you up and serve you with a big smile on his face. Alas, I moved away and missed my favorite sandwiches. I had Michael's withdrawal for a couple of years (I missed the lightning strike, it would have devastated me to drive by and see the building damaged) but now I'm back. What happened? Mike is still there - he even remembers somebody he hasn't seen in nearly four years - still smiling and as friendly as ever. The sandwiches are gone though. Smaller and lower quality rolls, less than half the meat they used to serve, and no longer cheap (ok - as cheap). Maybe it's just that I had been pining away for a Joe's Thanksgiving for so long that my expectations had gotten too high and I couldn't help but be disappointed. But no, even my mom says she doesn't stop in anymore. I tried again, and again, and again but the love just isn't there anymore. Every time I'm in the Wrentham area visiting family my car is guided by nostalgia and habit into a spot next to his building, but every time I walk away feeling disappointed. Mike, I'm still going to come in, you reeled me in with years of the best deli sandwiches on the planet, but nowadays I'm feeling equal quality and - shock of all shocks - heft (Mike, you used be known for the biggest sandwiches around) from the local house of pizza. . What a great little spot! We stopped by for lunch in between soccer games and we were not disappointed. There are a lot of sandwich choices. We ordered a Ruben which was fantastic. We also ordered Shepard's Pie, which is definitely enough for two people. Service was great but there is not a lot of seating, and the only restroom was back in the kitchen. Employees inside are very nice and helpful but the food seemed to lack the enthusiasm the employees put out. I ordered a sandwich special that included honey ham and honey mustard with other cheeses and veggies. I bit into a meat lacking sandwich with a spicy horseradish spread. After hours of Christmas shopping at the outlets my mom and I were dying for a bite to eat. I didn't want to stay inside the outlets so we used my Yelp App to find a place. We stumbled upon this place and saw the great reviews and decided to give it a try. It was great! I told the girl behind the counter I was a vegetarian and she suggested the veggie wrap. Normally, when I get veggie wraps from a deli it is whatever they can find all rolled up. Well, let me tell you, this was AWESOME! Sauteed Veggies and goat cheese wrapped into deliciousness. I had Michael's Mediterranean Quinoa salad as a side dish it was awesome. My mom had breakfast pizza and butternut squash soup and she was equally as happy with her food. I have been going to Mike's since I was a young boy... Nothing beats walking in to a deli saying hello to the owner and all of the workers. I go to Mike's at least three times a week... The food is an has always been excellent, my favorite is the Italian, or McBeth. Its a tough choice, but with all of the different breads, wraps and sub rolls you can really change it up. After some discussion with whom I believe to be the owners via text I think that for the most part they consistently deserve a 4 star rating. Love Mike's Deli. Awesome wraps, fantastic clam chowder (but it sells out early because it's so good) and friendly people. The wraps are chock full of boars head meats and cheeses.
