I really enjoy crochet, and Michaels is my go-to because I like their atmosphere and selection of products. This has led me to recently apply at one of their stores. Unfortunately, after the first correspondence regarding making an appointment for a phone interview, there was radio silence. I emailed a couple of times, called who I'm assuming is the store manager, and went in to the store to ask if they knew anything. I received an email earlier about my applications removal due to lack of response, so I'm just wondering if they care to have more staff or if they just keep the application up to promote traffic on their website. This experience has been a little disappointing to say the least. read more

I came to this Micheal's store as wanted to purchase a crafty gift for a visiting colleague's two-year old and 7-year old daughters. Luckily as we walked in, mum and I chanced to see Tyler, who is an Amazing Sales Associate who works here and I would absolutely recommend asking for her if you need help shopping at this Micheals store as she really knows the store inside-out and helped my mum and me find the perfect gift for the young'uns (a bracelet maker and coloring markers for young children's hands, in case you were wondering). I also saw that the store was clean and walked well and there were a lot of craft ideas around the pertinent part of the store. This place is pure temptation! Everything here calls to me, saying "Buy me! Buy me, now!" They have great sales and tons of craft stuff. I was sorely tempted to buy lots more scrapbooking stuff while it was on sale. Hubby comes here to buy pretty boxes while they're on sale so he can use them to gift things to people. There's so much here and it's just perfect for crafting. Teachers also get a discount but I forget how much! read more

The weekly children's crafting classes are inexpensive and fun. The kids really enjoy the experience and meeting new friends. The room was located in the front, well lit, spacious but close enough for the children to hold a quiet conversation with each other. Plenty of art supplies available. There was a main activity demonstrated, then after completion they were allowed to use their creativity and make something of their choice. The associate that worked with the class today was really nice and friendly with the perfect calming tone to her voice. This day was a great class for my g-kids. They will return for more creative arts and crafts here. read more

Worst experience ever. I have a receipt and they will not allow me to return a b omen item. They tell me to call 1-800-Michael's and they want to know why they will not allow me to return. Biggest mess ever. Then they scan my receipt that I used my credit card and tell me they can't credit my Michael's but, they can put my credit card refund on my debit card. read more

Ordered same day delivery 9 or 10 am, the next morning at 6 am - still not there! Cancel the order around 11 am the next day because I'm convinced it's not coming, and i need it tonight! , 2 hours later (as I'm buying the item from a Lowes within driving distance from office, on my lunch break) I get the text that it's been delivered! All Michaels does is blame the third party. BS- if I'm the manager on shift, I'd look at all the orders at the end of the night, that hadn't been picked up by third party- and start making phone calls proposing refunds if needed. Oh I have 60 days to return it! Are they going to return the $10 "same day" delivery fee too?! read more

I bought a 9ft Christmas tree online at Michael's and before it even arrived, I no longer needed it. Upon receiving the tree, we promptly took it to the Michael's store. When we got to Michael's we were told we couldn't return it at the store, but had to take this large 9ft box back home with us in the pouring rain and return it UPS. Unfortunately, I was a wee bit upset but the manger, Kade, was very professional and proceeded to explain she had no way to scan it into her system even though we had all receipts etc and the box had never been opened. She told us we could call the 1800 number which we did from the store. They spoke with the manger, Kade, and was able to straighten the whole thing out to our satisfaction. I want to thank Kade for her professionalism and for her help in this situation. read more

If you're looking for Polymer Clay items DON'T waste your time @ Michael's. 90% of the clay they carry is THEIR store brand and it's JUNK! Only other brand is Sculpey III, NOT even any of the Sculpey Primo available anymore. Also appears to be getting rid of ALL the Modge Podge items as well. Sad! read more

I went into the michaels on Houston levee to have a frame made for a very special collage of life pictures I was having done for a friend who is ill. I was assisted by Arthur, the store manager who was on duty. He very patiently spent a few hours helping me to get it just right and even went the extra mile to expedite it in view of my friends illness. Helpful staff but as always long lines seems to be that way at every Michaels. But out of the ones I have been to in Memphis this one is the best. This is the best place to stop in for any arts and crafts supplies...always check on your phone they usually have coupons you can use in store and scan the code on your phone. read more
