Then, the same girl kept complaining about her job and when my daughter asked her for some help with getting paint she said "I don't see why she can't get it herself, like, can she reach it?" Then, she kept giving us warnings as to how many minutes we had left to paint before they closed at 7:45* mind you. If that's not enough, we asked for a high chair and she just kept sweeping and ignored us until we went to go get it (which is not a problem for us to get it but we only had a little bit of time to paint so her getting it for us would've been nice) We love painting and this was my Mother's Day gift and the staff here was just not good at all. No matter what I'm working on, they always have exactly what I need at a good price. The staff is incredibly welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable. Whether I'm hunting down specific brushes, looking for the right paint for a mural, or trying out new materials, they always point me in the right direction without any pressure. You can tell they actually care about artists and understand the tools we use. Their selection is huge -- from professional sign-painting and pinstriping supplies to spray paint, inks, canvases, and everything in between. It's one of those places where you walk in for one thing and end up finding five other things you didn't even know you needed. Memphis is lucky to have a place like this. You can pick out what you like, have them print them out with your choice of verb-age and then pick it up and start licking stamps! I took note that they carry Kate Spade invites (oooh la la! Fancy) and they also have a few random pieces of children's clothes (so freaking cute!). There was a large amount of random Ole' Miss memorabilia, and a few for you Tennessee fans too. And maybe 'strange' is too strong of a word for some of the eye-catching pieces that draw you in, and make you stare for a few long moments. Mr. Lusk tends to showcase artists from all over that see more than a canvas full of lilies. Like the July featured artist, Tim Crowder, who paints snowmen in the middle of a green, grassy field in summer. The colors are rich and contrast-y. Almost cartoon-ish, but not quite. Some other artists represented include Maysey Craddock, Linda Disney, Colin McLain, Anne Siems, and more. It's a must-see.
