It's basically a place people…read morerent out for events, and I've been there often over the last few years for art shows, spoken word performances, parties, a mini-concert, etc. It's plain in appearance, and the bathrooms are just ok, but it is spacious and can be used for just about anything. We didn't have a standard framing shop, and this one happened to be next door to our pool place so we brought it in around late July. We were quoted about a month turn around time and a steep price of over $300. We hadn't had anything framed in a while so we agreed to the steep price just because we wanted it done right and well for this precious piece. Months went by with no luck of completion, and we were told it was due to COVID stopping linen liner production, so they were going to use a different liner color which we agreed to. More months went by, and we were finally able to pick it up a week before Christmas. We went in the shop and waited a while as the employee had to filter through many framing jobs because nothing was organized. She finally found the piece, and we left happy. We didn't take the piece out of the plastic in effort to preserve the cleanliness and not wanting to drop it but through plastic it looked fine. I just unwrapped the plastic (less than a week later), and there is dust all over the frame. The dust is so thick you could remove some with a finger swipe. We were told the $300 was so steep because of the disassembly and cleaning process to preserve the integrity of the original frame, but clearly there was no cleaning to be done. Extremely late and poorly done: Can't get much worse than that!

It had an eclectic selection of art from various artists, including a few that I really loved. I walked in and fell in love with a painting done by Annabelle Meacham. Her style was new to me and the colors were vibrant and very attractive.There were quite a few of her works in different areas of the gallery. Jay, who owns and runs the gallery, was delightfully well informed about the art displayed there. He was exceptionally friendly and spent quite a bit of time talking with us on various subjects. My fiancé was looking specifically for riablo, of which Jay had many to choose from. In the end, we purchase a lovely little riablo for a fair price. We were on vacation so it is unlikely we will return, but if we do get to Memphis again we will definitely visit Jay's gallery again. I highly recommend his gallery to anyone living in or visiting Memphis! It is a true treasure!

Mr. Lusk tends to showcase artists from all over that see more than a canvas full of lilies. Like the July featured artist, Tim Crowder, who paints snowmen in the middle of a green, grassy field in summer. The colors are rich and contrast-y. Almost cartoon-ish, but not quite. Some other artists represented include Maysey Craddock, Linda Disney, Colin McLain, Anne Siems, and more. It's a must-see.

If that's not enough, we asked for a high chair and she just kept sweeping and ignored us until we went to go get it (which is not a problem for us to get it but we only had a little bit of time to paint so her getting it for us would've been nice) We love painting and this was my Mother's Day gift and the staff here was just not good at all. THEY SAVED ME! Forever Grateful!…read more So, I walked in this beautiful place, needing something to be framed ASAP for a gift I needed the next day! (Yeah, I'm that guy.) I quickly realized that I probably came to the wrong place -everything here was so beautiful & well, over my budget (for this simple frame I needed.) I went ahead and told them my situation; what the gift was for & how much I was HOPING to pay for a simple frame. They replied: Okay! We can do that for you. I came back a few hours later and they turned my 11x17 print from FedEx Office (a collage of dozens of tiny pics of the family over the past years) & they turned it into a BEAUTIFUL, MATTED & CUSTOM-FRAMED piece of art! I was speechless. If I ever have a nice office again, I'm going to decorate with some of wonderful Memphis Artwork in their gallery. In addition to custom framing, there's so much beautiful art here -but I enjoy most the Memphis and Memphis sports themed art. I tell everyone to pay them a visit.
