It had an eclectic selection of art from various artists, including a few that I really loved. I walked in and fell in love with a painting done by Annabelle Meacham. Her style was new to me and the colors were vibrant and very attractive.There were quite a few of her works in different areas of the gallery. Jay, who owns and runs the gallery, was delightfully well informed about the art displayed there. He was exceptionally friendly and spent quite a bit of time talking with us on various subjects. My fiancé was looking specifically for riablo, of which Jay had many to choose from. In the end, we purchase a lovely little riablo for a fair price. We were on vacation so it is unlikely we will return, but if we do get to Memphis again we will definitely visit Jay's gallery again. I highly recommend his gallery to anyone living in or visiting Memphis! It is a true treasure!

Crosstown Arts is a free gallery within the Concourse that features temporary exhibits. When we visited, we were blown away by an exhibit: "Give a Damn! Music + Activism at Stax Records." The exhibit featured artifacts (including Isaac Hayes's office desk and outfits worn on stage by Stax artists like Johnnie Taylor and Isaac Hayes), music, rare photos, and original artwork created by Shelby County middle school students. It was interesting and of great local interest! A very well laid out exhibit. If we lived in Memphis, I'd certainly make it a point to read up about their exhibits as they open and to visit any of those that interested me! Wonderful visit!

The tulips were soooo pretty and the art was great. Several pieces moved me deeply. Love the creativity. We got there just after opening. Easy to find parking and after we did our check-in, we were free to roam at our own pace. Visited the cafe and got a yummy iced matcha latte. Very peaceful, beautiful grounds. Well kept. We will definitely be back. Can't wait to see what other art exhibits come and go. All the staff were very friendly and helpful as well. Definitely worth the visit.

And maybe 'strange' is too strong of a word for some of the eye-catching pieces that draw you in, and make you stare for a few long moments. Mr. Lusk tends to showcase artists from all over that see more than a canvas full of lilies. Like the July featured artist, Tim Crowder, who paints snowmen in the middle of a green, grassy field in summer. The colors are rich and contrast-y. Almost cartoon-ish, but not quite. Some other artists represented include Maysey Craddock, Linda Disney, Colin McLain, Anne Siems, and more. It's a must-see.
