Ask the Community - T Clifton Art

Hi, I am staying close to Graceland, I would like to know if there is an antique mall around the area that sales antique or vintage linen. I would like to visit tomorrow Saturday AM before I leave town? THANK YOU!

Welcome to Memphis! Check with Found Memphis. They feature vintage items, so they might have vintage linen. They are located on Hollywood near Broad. BTW - the shops along Broad/Hollywood are all open until 8pm tonight for First Friday. Come…

They know their products and it enthusiastically shines through. They can always be counted on for exceptional 1950's glassware and unique period ashtrays. They have stunning quintessential 60's lamps, unique furnishings, bitchin' gifts and collectibles and even fabulous retro clothing. My husband recently found a perfectly fitting Halston suede jacket for $45.00. I've seen the most beautiful, classic Mad Men bars, art nouveau desks and lounge chairs with fantastic fabric. Most recently I bought a solid shelving unit for my den. I've seen vintage stereo player/furniture contraptions, and fun banquette seating options along with sensational nesting tables in perfect condition. They always have great serving pieces from bygone eras whether your looking for a funny Art Deco paella dish or a more recent 70's Fondue set. I found a velvet cape several years ago from the 50's that I continue to wear every chance I get. They also have great gifts from funny cards to unique conversation starters. There are always things to enjoy at Flashback including their nutty window displays which are the best in town. I am always so happy that they continue to bring their fun to Midtown Memphis. Definitely one of my favorite stores in Memphis!

The store is jam-packed, but mysteriously doesn't carry certain items that it seems like they would. Customer serivce is non-existent, and I think one of these days I'm going to die of old age in the check-out line. I have had some very unpleasant experiences with the pharmacy, to the point that I now use the CVS up the street for my few pharmacy needs. I stop in here for the ATM more than anything else. That being said, this is the place for when I need some random item (eggs for breakfast, tape, etc.) and don't want to actually get in my car and go somewhere. I have fortunately not encountered any panhandlers, though the customers definitely get sketchier-looking after dark. Bottom line, it's a not particularly new Walgreens -- what can you really expect?

Just waited on the phone for 45 minutes. Someone picked up briefly to say hold and never returned. The phone rang about 20 more times before disconnecting. Called back and had to get in line behind "more than 3 callers" all over again. This treatment of customers who need sometimes life saving medications is unconscionable and so very disrespectful. Not certain why corporate has not gotten involved but planning on finding out.

I've been inside this Sherwin Williams now more times than I can count. We are decorating a…read morenursery and have a bad case of indecision in the B. household. On our first trip here, we thought we wanted wallpaper. So, we sat and rifled through book after book until we found the most stellar pattern ever- so stellar in fact it would cost $575 bucks to finish just one wall of the baby's room. We were on the fence about paying that much money, and really wanted to take it home and get it in the room with the furniture and everything before we made a decision. Apparently taking home the wallpaper books is not a common occurrence at Sherwin Williams. Or perhaps just not this particular book. Carlos took all of our information (including drivers license numbers) and allowed us to take the book home provided I bring it back the next morning. Such an awesome gesture, especially given the fact that it looked horrible in the room after all. I returned here numerous times after looking at paint samples, as I knew that I wanted to give them my business because of what great customer service we received our first trip here. Finally went back this evening and purchased 4 gallons of paint. Carlos and Fred were working and could not have been more helpful, friendly or knowledgeable on what exactly I needed. I'm not going to pretend I understand the difference in flats verses semi glosses. However, these guys do and steered me in the right direction without allowing me to spend an arm and a leg. I've not once received this kind of attention at a Home Depot or a Lowe's. When I made my purchase, they gave me a 25% discount and carried the cans out to my trunk despite my insistence I could do it myself. Though this paint is much more expensive, it is a higher quality as well. I know I will be making the rest of my painting purchases here, there's no reason for me to give my business to anyone else.

Lee'Allen and his staff have given us invaluable information about each step of the process. My husband and I want to especially give a shout-out to Surframe. We needed an extra gallon of a paint color not available immediately at this store. He actually stopped by a branch store on his way home from work and picked it up for us that day. Such service is a dying art and we are truly grateful. My husband and I both work in the building materials/millwork business and we will both wholeheartedly recommend Sherwin Williams, Lee'Allen and Surframe.
