First, I'll say I really like Mike. He's very involved in the business and he was always there to chat me up whenever I'd stop in so that's a huge plus. On the downside was the actual laundry/pressing service they provide. I'm a new customer and on my second batch of dress shirts I dropped off I found two of them damaged when I picked the order up. One had actual burn holes through the fabric (iron was too hot and/or left on too long) and another shirt had brown scorch marks on the sleeve and back. For the first one he asked me what the shirt was worth and put a credit on my customer account for it; with the second shirt he said he thought it was detergent so he sent it through again and, in fairness, it came back fine. A month and a half later I dropped off an order with a different set of shirts. This time (again, white shirt) I got back with blue stains all over the cuffs and a few other areas. Mike said he thought it was maybe dye transfer from laundering it with colored garments so he ran it through again. I got it back and it looked like it had come out but as soon as I got it home under good, bright lighting the blue was still there. At this point I've now had issues with three shirts on two separate orders so I decided it's time to call it a day with this place and I took it to Dean's cleaners in Westport. Not only did they turn it around same day but they got all the blue stains out. Look, I'm sure these guys try to do a great job and they obviously care about their business so I'll give them 2-stars instead of one but the quality speaks for itself and for that reason I'd avoid using them. read more

I'd give Michael's Cleaners 10 stars if I could. Small business, fantastic reliable service, the owner is always onsite and wonderfully friendly. I've used them for several years for wool blankets and sweaters, down comforters, and delicate clothing. I live in Wilton, and Michael's Cleaners is not really in my normal traffic pattern; however, I would never consider taking my items anywhere else for dry cleaning services. Absolutely the best dry cleaning service I have ever used. They really know and appreciate their customers. I wish every small business had such a customer-centric focus. read more

Michael and his staff are incredibly kind, service oriented, and knowledgeable. I have been the victim of some of my nicer clothing items falling apart and Michael has somehow made them look brand new. They are a family-run shop and treat their customers as such. I recently dropped about ten terms off to repair. The seamstress wasn't sure what I needed done with one of the shirts, so she didn't touch it. When I picked up my other items, Michael and I reviewed what needed to be done and said he would have the shirt for me early the following week at no charge. More businesses need to run like this one. read more

My husband & I are big fans. Michael is an expert cleaner, he is a resourceful & a clever stain specialist. A favorite designer dress had been splattered with beer, and I thought, irreparably damaged. Michael worked his magic, (after an expensive competing dry-cleaner had failed). I never review business of yelp, but this place is so horrible I need to share. Avoid at all costs, literally drive anywhere else in Norwalk. I dropped off several expensive items, to be dry cleaned, and received several items back damaged. An evening gown had visible rips in it, what looked almost like burn holes. A cashmere Burberry scarf completely ruined, which Michael claims is because it's "old," and a Michael Kors winter coat which is completely unwearable because it is so stiff and the fabric is completely worn out. And no this does not happen because items are old, or because there are rips in the pocket. Costly items and well made garments don't have expiration dates of a few years. I won't claim to know the first thing about dry cleaning clothes, but neither should this place. read more

This was the first time Yelp let me down. This place is to be avoided at all costs. They were late on my suits and then dry cleaned a valuable new unworn white formal dress I explicitly said to press only and then it came back full of black marks and a stain that might be blood or coffee and this dress was flawless fresh from the maker. We had to carefully spot each mark. Over priced, poor quality. Luckily we got the many dirt spots off the new white floor length dress. Nice people. Terrible work. read more

Found this place thanks to a Groupon. Family-owned and run business and very friendly (including a dog to greet you at the door). I had a ton of tailoring and some dry cleaning and they got all 9 pieces hemmed and cleaned in a few days! Nothing was out of order. Will defn be doing all my dry cleaning/tailoring here from now on. One wish would be a few bucks cheaper on the tailoring...it's a bit pricey. Also, posting your prices on the website would be helpful. read more

My family has always used Michael's cleaners. They are friendly, professional, and they are always willing to go the extra step to help if you need something cleaned or mended right away. I can always trust them to take care of my nicer pieces of clothing. For example, I have a beautiful shearling lined suede coat that was custom made for me about 10 years ago. When I took it out for the winter I realized there were some issues with the seams & pockets from time and wear. The leather shop that made it for me quoted several hundred dollars plus shipping to take care of it, not to mention the 4-6 week turnaround. I took it to Mike and he reassured me that they could take care of it. Within a week I had the coat back and for $45 it looks perfect. I was thrilled & mentioned that since it was finally cold enough to wear it and I was headed out to a dinner that night I'd love to wear it and Mike immediately offered to bring it to my house on his way home for no extra charge (and I'm not even a delivery customer!) he said, "it's no problem, it's on my way." That's the kind of exceptional service you get when you patronize local "mom & pop" businesses like Michael's. read more

Michael is an expert and loves what he does. I took my wedding dress there to be cleaned and afterwards, I was so happy I found him. He treated my dress like it was worth a million dollars. He explained to me the process of how a dry cleaner should properly clean a dress, and he was very detailed in his approach and the process. I've never met someone who gets excited about cleaning wedding dresses, but he does. The best part is that he is very affordable! read more
