The customer service here is excellent!! Well, at least one Cashier. I don't like using self-check out, and other workers there were trying to get me to use it. The cashier, Joann brought me over to her register and rang up all my items. I bought so much Grad stuff and arts and crafts for my granddaughter who's graduating. Joann recommended a sign up to be a member. I don't usually come here, and honestly I would've said no to signing up but I was really impressed with her customer service so I figured why not? She was personable and really down to earth. Nothing felt forced or pushed at all with Joann. She made my experience very comfortable and now I'm a member so I'll definitely be back to buy some more floral stuff. They have a HUGE floral section. It's all over the store. My only note to store is get rid of those self-check outs, give us more Joanns... and some price checkers wouldn't hurt either! :) read more

I have say every time I visit this store I've found some great buys!! And Discounts on a frame 70% off is a great plus. And Noah was very patient with me because I'm going with the color scheme in the wall I'm doing of all our vacations over the years.. So 2 weeks I got from our last big vacation. I can't wait!! It painted in acrylic paint with thick medium. The cashier was great she took her time with my frames I bought and one wrapped by Noah so she help me with that too. Ordered online for pickup at this store. Recieived a notification that the order was partially filled because they were short 1 item. That's fine. I received a notification shortly after that my order was picked up! How could that be? Both me and my wife were still at work! I called and the lady said it was gone. They do "self pickup" so that means ANYONE can just walk in and take your stuff without the workers checking. They have no more of the items that I ordered, so now I have to call customer care for a refund and go to a totally different store to find the same item! With the amount of homeless in this area, you would think they would have safety measures against this, but she seemed pretty used to it. Now I have to wait 3-5 days for a refund and still have to pay again for the same items right now. What an unfortunate waste of time. read more

Alejandra was absolutely fantastic and extremely patient with me as I came in with a couple of prints to get framed. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and I don't think the prints would come out as perfect if she was not there that day. I can't stress enough, she was so so patient and willing to help me, it was enlightening to experience decent and above-and-beyond customer service, where I feel a lot of stores just don't value it as much as before. Signed up for the kids ornament making event. When we got there, a staff member told us it was only being held at fashion valley because "the manager said we don't have time for that today". I'm not a regular shopper at Michaels, but I have come here a few times this year.. they offer a good amount of crafts and decor.. lots of products in every aisle. I have a passion planner and their planner supplies (stickers and washi tape) is what brought me here. They have a huge selection. One thing I learned, is that they always come out with pretty good sales and coupons that really slash prices, so never pay full price! For instance, they had a sale for 60% off outdoor and holiday decor, and a coupon for 20% off entire purchase (sale items included!).. Ive never had a problem with customer service, and I've found them to be quite helpful. In an earlier visit while at the register to pay, they asked if I had a coupon, I said no.. she showed me how to go online to their website to get a coupon she can scan which ended up saving me a bit... this most recent visit, I saw there was sign in the aisle for 40% off all planners and accessories, but it wasn't honored when I paid. I asked an employee who told me that the sale ended the day before. But the fact that the sign was still up in the aisle, they have to honor it and she took the time to reimburse me. She even apologized to me for the inconvenience. I wouldn't hesitate to come back for any crafting/school project needs! read more

No wonder the store looks lonely all the time I went into the store because i needed to pick up a ups package (it was supposed to ship to my house i dont know why they made me pick up) I went in store ive done pick ups at walgreens or cvs i go in and out FAST!!! When i went in i nicely said i was there to pick up a ups package the girl told me i had to make a line in order for them to take my name ( she was just sorting things in carts) i went made a line 2 people infront of me took over 20 min making a line Yay i was exited it was my turn well the guy just sent me with the girl i talked to yeah! The one that sent me to make a line! Well the person in back of me also was there for a pick up and she first went ahead and assist the other girl then me i was frustrated by then .... She went to the back "to look for the packages" well she just returned with the other person's package and she told me she couldnt find mine (2 days before i talked to ups and they told me i had until specific date before returning and i went before that day) well she went back to "look" again she really took her time looking for my package and yeah after an hour in store she found it ...... I dont recommend coming here to buy even if the have an item i could just imagine how much i will need to wait to pay for an item read more

Ordered two items for pick up from here. Following the emails instructions, I called when I got there and parked at the closest spot possible. I Couldn't park right up in front with other cars in the loading area and a giant line of people waiting to get into target (yes in front of the michaels store it was a long line). Told the associate I was RIGHT next to the store. I see him come out and give the order to another car so I'm waving him down but he doesn't see me. No problem, I'll make a u turn and squeeze my way in so he can't miss me. He comes up to my car less than a minute later and my niece rolls down the window for the bag, and he tosses it in past her so it lands at her feet then proceeded to scold me for being 5 mins away and causing confusion. For some reason on the phone he also assumed I was "5 mins away" after telling him I was at the store. When he's done scolding me I try explaining myself "oh I was here it's just-" and then he walked away before I could finish :) I get it, things are hectic at this time. But there's a difference between stress and just being a straight up ass. I was going to just let it go, but that was the worst michaels experience. Emails and instructions need to be clearer. I'm getting told different ways via email and phone for drive pick- up and still end up getting shitted on. read more

I went to the store for craft supplies and picture frames. Staff were incredibly rude! Asked for assistance on a specific item, and the staff person in frame's did not even look up. Just pointed her finger and said "It's over there." It was several aisles away and she just pointed in a general direction. At checkout, the clerk acted as though i was interrupting her text chat. I was definitely made to feel like an inconvenience to their day! 100% would NOT recommend this store read more

Really discouraged by this michaels! It's smaller than many I've been to in LA, and runs short on supplies. They do not carry fabric!!! Store must've been going through inventory when I went cause it was very unorganized!! Also they carry fabric but Only in bandana size samples! Lines are also ridiculously long on weekday!! Unfortunately they just don't stock much for advanced artists. Not if your looking for plain old sketch pads this is the place. They have everything from canvas paper to water color pads. This Michaels is usually okay. I mean they all are, at least all the ones I've shopped at. I think because of covid they spread out the aisles and have huge empty space up front where there's usually seasonal item. Also. I always have to wait forever for check out. They give the majority of customers a really hard time with returns. I don't think I've needed to return anything but I've seen them pretty much accuse people of stealing the product they're returning and made me feel uncomfortable . Or like, answer the phone and completely forget about the person in front of then they're supposed to be ringing up. Or call for back up or to answer the phones inquiry but then make casual unprofessional conversation in front of me while waiting to check out. I would suggest maybe making customer service priority then hang out and joke around once you've taken care of the customers checking out or waiting in line. read more

I came to Michael's to return the flower girl basket I never used. My daughter didn't need a basket but instead was provided with a rose to walk down my cousin's wedding with. I wish my cousin would have told me sooner. Anyway, returning the basket was easy. All I had to give the cashier was my receipt and the credit card I used to purchase it. She printed out a receipt saying the money would be taken out of my card showing as a negative number. I will have to check the status of when the money will be reimbursed. As for the store, if you're into arts and crafts, this store is for you. I'm not too much into arts and crafts but I know my daughter will be once she's in school. This place has all you need from decorations, stickers, paints, and wedding stuff. The store was organized and a nice lady helped me when I got the basket to begin with. Wow, hadn't shopped at this Michael's location since before Covid, such a disappointment! The selection and layout of merchandise is quite bleak compared to Hobby Lobby, I only stopped at Michael's because I was in the area and went to Smart & Final next door as well. The employees I saw throughout the store weren't friendly and sure didn't look happy to even be there. No smiles or even a simple "Hello" unless I, as a customer, initiated it. I didn't stay long, found a few items I could use, and was ready to skidaddle on out of there. That was the least amount of time I've spent at a craft store, and as an artist, I enjoy wandering the aisles, seeing new crafting ideas- I didn't feel inspired whatsoever in this store. Total bummer. At the register line, only one customer was ahead of me & already being helped by the cashier. Nobody was even waiting behind me, but the young employee stated "You can use the "Self-Pay" if you're paying by card". Maybe she was anxious for her break time or simply didn't want to be bothered with assisting another customer? Who knows, but the overall experience yesterday at their store confirms for me, I won't be back. I'll only purchase from Hobby Lobby for my artwork supplies, which has a better shopping environment and motivated employees. read more

This store is for the birds. There are always homeless people hanging around out front, which isn't necessarily the business's fault, but there it is. The shopping carts are super wobbly and pieces of crap. There is always a VERY long, unnecessarily slow line of people trying to get checked out and often only one checker. They are always understaffed and it takes an hour to make your purchase. Whoever makes the schedule is sadistic. If you must shop here I recommend shopping online so that the experience is less painful. And the coupons never apply to anything namebrand so don't bother. The manager is super rude, I had the occasion to speak with her about a package I had waiting for me there and she was extremely rude and I have never had someone be so rude to me. It was totally random. I feel sorry for the people who work there. I will avoid this place and head to Hobby Lobby. read more

I came here to purchase items for scrapbooking. The aisles are small and the store is overall outdated. There were MANY people in line waiting to check out, but only two cashiers which made for a long wait - this is why I'm deducting a star. A variety of paints and brushes, various types of glue and glue guns, wood objects, feathers and fake flowers, stencils, chalk and Styrofoam balls of various sizes and shapes. Framing supplies, book scrapping supplies, baskets and more. In most cases you are not greeted when you enter, and there is rarely any one providing customer service on the sales floor, but the register employees are friendly and Michaels offers a mailing list for additional discounts. read more

Trying to purchase one item and I was using my card and she said I have to do self check out even though I was the next person in line for her. She refused to check me out at her register, and was having me wait for self check out even though I was the first person in line. Asking all others if they were paying with check or cash. I used to love coming to this store, until the last year. There was a girl, Gabby, who had the worst attitude about the coupons. I spoke to the manager twice about my issue with her, but it didn't really leave me with anything positive. I stopped shopping here for a while because I hadn't had the best experience and the line is always long. I went back a couple of days ago, for 1 item. It rung up higher than what I remembered seeing. The cashier was no help, so I went back to look for something similar, less expensive. Turns out, the item was ringing up at a higher price than what was showing on the display. I made sure to take a picture of the price and sku, to show the cashier. Of course, when I get back to the front, the line is long and there's only 2 cashiers. I get to a different cashier this time and same thing, it rings up at a higher price. I showed Carmen the picture of the price and she did a price adjustment - great! I then showed her my 40% off coupon and it wouldn't work. She kept telling me that it's not taking the coupon like it's my problem. When she called over the manager she was a bit huffy about it, which made me feel like I was the problem. I thanked her once everything was settled, but she didn't say anything back - whatever. At this point, nothing surprises me with this staff anymore. I like Michaels stores but management really needs to train their staff in customer service. I was there Friday/Feb 15 to get one item. There was one register opened and Gaby was helping a customer at the time. I made a mistake of not standing behind the sign and she blurted "Stand behind the line!" I was surprised at the tone and the disrespectfulness. Gaby proceeded to chat with her customer while the line behind me grew.
