Need some craft items, holiday items, or maybe some yarn or fabric, this one has it. It's a good size craft store, we've stopped here on many occasions. It's usually clean. We stopped during the Christmas rush, and it was still well maintained. Have to hand it to the staff for ding a good job and keeping the entire store presentable when the shopping public is in full Christmas buy-in mode and making a big mess. Hats off. We went to look for yard this day for a project my wife was doing for her friends. They have a decent selection, tho as with all of the stores it seems to be dwindling down to a few rows of shelves, when 10 years ago there were several shelves full of various yarns. Prices are good, especially when they are on sale, except today, the yarn she needed was $10 per skein! OUCH! 5-6 years ago it was $4 ish. The holiday stuff took up a LOT of space today, for the most part it was 2 sides of the store, part of the front and all of the right side. Now this location isn't really as big as others, so it's a lot of stuff packed into small spaces. Good deals not the Christmas stuff tho. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Daughter worked there for over a year. Her purse was stolen out of the breakroom that was supposed to be locked. They never gave her a locked locker to put her stuff in. Her purse, credit cards, and car were stolen....out of a breakroom that should have been locked to protect their employees belongings. We got her a new car and she called to say she was ready to work again. Well....she was fired for missing work... after they knew her car was stolen and loss prevention told us they were taking her off the schedule. If you don't want a headache, don't send your kid to work there. Also....they have only one bad camera at the front that did not show who came in and stole her belongings. ONE CAMERA ONLY! read more

This is my go-to location. Conveniently located. Staff is super nice and store is always clean and stocked.

This location seems to be very busy all the time YET floor staff is never visible and they will only have one cashier at the checkout station until they call for backup. Either they are understaffed or the management and customer service org chart needs to be changed. Coming from a retail background there should be at least a few zone leaders visible at all times but as many times I've been there I've had to hunt for someone or the sole person on the floor is so busy trying to help a waitlist of people it's ridiculous. read more

I use to come here to find all of my daughters supplies when she had projects at school..... They always would hit the spot on my craft needs. Lately I have been going here for some flowers to take to my mothers & brothers grave. I like to change them out due to the season. The selection is always limited but you will run across some here and there. I try to make sure it is is a good sale going on to help save some money. I did find a few things for my wedding that was really convenient. I also like the Christmas selection they have when I am able to get there before the rush. Today I was looking for some waist beads..... I knew they sold beads so was taking a chance on seeing if they carried some. Well they did not so I guess I will be looking else where. read more

Michaels in Cedar Hill is just the right size. It's not too big or small. They stock the shelves with just about everything you can imagine for your crafting needs. Since the store is smaller the selection is limited. I usually come here to peruse the seasonal sale items. They are usually cheaper than Hobby Lobby. The store is clean and well kept. Check out is usually fast too. No complaints from me. read more

Usually Michaels is dead but the day after Christmas is a different story. I was in search of a fake flower bouquet for a mini crafting project I've undertaken and while driving by I noticed Michaels. Plus, Michaels did have the flowers (although the selection was quite scarce). Minus, the line was super duper long, thanks to an older lady at register 1 who gave the cashier hell and made the line move even more slowly. In my opinion, the manager should've taken over that transaction and gotten that rude customer out of there. But no, I stood in line for a ridiculous amount of time for a couple of clearance items and two bouquets of fake flowers. Womp womp. I'll make sure to come on a non-holiday weekend next time. I really like this Michaels. It is conveniently located, and easy to get to. They have a wide variety of craft supplies, but no fabric. This location has great sales after a holiday. If you want to stock up on supplies for next Halloween or Christmas, this is definitely the place for you. My only real complaint is that this location is always hot inside, and fairly cramped. They've got a lot of stock in a fairly small area. Why they can't control the temp in the store though, is beyond me. If you need craft supplies, this is a great store. This is a terrible store with even worse customer service. I asked the lady behind the custom framing counter if they did custom mattes. She replied that no, she was pretty sure they didn't. I've asked at other Michaels stores and have been told they do in fact. Then when I asked her where I could find a specific product, she didn't really know, but clearly couldn't be bothered enough to get off of her stool and help me. She just randomly pointed me down some nearby isle, which, not to my surprise, didn't have what I was looking for. I left with nothing in the end. This Michaels is horrible. All other locations such as Arlington and Mansfield, I have never had a problem. At this location every time the sales associate and managers don't ever know how to do anything. It's always call customer service or we don't know. Then you call customer service, and the sales associate in the store still can't help. If you want great customer service and associates who know what they're doing go across the freeway to Hobby Lobby or drive further out to another location. read more

I have been to this location several times since moving to this area and they usually have what I am looking for. Customer service seems to be absent here however. For example, the cashier I encountered yesterday was the absolute worst. No eye contact. No smile. No personality. In fact she came across like a robot. It was like she was being forced against her will to be there. Since when does your negative attitude become my problem when I am spending money in your establishment? I love Michael's! Great prices and great selection. My experience at this particular store is never the best. I have been here multiple times and have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt every time - This will be our last time. The cashier "Edie" was very rude and impersonal. She questioned our form of payment after our total being $4.86 for two Mason jars. We handed her a $5 dollar bill, she took it, held it up to the light and said she had reason to believe it was fake. Which is fine, that's your job! She then asked for another form of payment, so we handed her a $20 dollar bill. She questioned the $20 dollar bill also and responded "ugh I'll just take the $5" We took this offensively because for one, she told us our bills needed to be checked by the bank. For two, we saw her glance at my boyfriend's wallet where there were clearly other bills... Why would we give her a fake $5? That doesn't make sense. If we were to use a fake bill, wouldn't we try the $20 instead to get back "real" change? Not to make it a race thing, but she was very unfriendly for some reason from the get-go. I love this Michaels location! They are never busy and always have everything I need and more. And I would rather go to Michaels over Hobby Lobby any day! I am big on crafting, scrapbooking, and baking, so this is my one-stop-shop for all those needs. I find myself coming in here at least once or twice a month. If I lived closer I'd probably be here once or twice a week. And it doesn't help that Target is right next door! There's tons of bargain bins outside the Michaels entrance that are always loaded with goodies. Most of the bins are discounted items that have been reduced or are seasonal, but it's worth having a look. There's more bargain bins set up next to the cash registers and other various departments as well. The best finds are stamps, ink pads (Studio G brand is inexpensive and works great), embellishments and decorative note cards and post-its. Michaels is the absolute best place for seasonal items too! I especially love their Halloween and Christmas merchandise. They stock ahead of time, so you'll see Easter items debut in February and Christmas items in October. I recommend checking online to see what weekly deals are being offered before coming in. Some weeks they have scrapbook paper going for 25 cents a sheet, and other weeks it's buy one get one half off stamps. Their floral and frames departments almost always have a weekly special as well. Another thing I have to mention are the weekly coupons and specials. Every week the Sunday newspaper also has a coupon that's good for 40% off one full price item. It's best to put the 40% off coupon toward expensive items, like large frames and decorative art pieces. They also accept coupons from your smartphone and coupons printed online, and also offer coupons at the register good for the following week. I've also never had bad customer service here, which is why I keep coming back. The employees are nice and are happy to help if needed. Lines are never long, and if they do get busy all of the registers stay open. Why would I go anywhere else for my crafting needs? read more

I bought a frame in another Michaels store that did not work with the canvas I wanted to frame. I returned it at the Cedar Hill store and asked the framing department for help. Mark showed me an open back frame that worked great and put it all together with mounts and wire. Awesome job with great customer service!! read more

I do not recommend using the curbside service they have put in place due to the pandemic. Most curbside services will process the order same day if you place the order before a specific time. I did and over 24 hours later still no notification. I tried calling the store and an associate continuous picked up the phone and hung it up. This happened 5 times. Finally, I became so frustrated and decided to drive over to pick up the order myself which again defeated the purpose of curbside service. I walked into a not so busy store and was told they were 48 hours behind. You just opened up curbside service and I didn't see long times of people waiting to pick up supplies. I went to the store shelf and got my items to purchase but also asked if I could cancel the order. The person wrote the information down but I very skeptical if it will get cancelled and they have already charged my card. She told me that she would do the cancellation later and besides if I just don't come pick it up, it will cancel itself. Okay....never doing curbside again and will likely find another location that will answer the phone. If they are hanging up on customers, rather than politely asking them to hold, they are too busy for my business. read more
