I usually enjoy this store, they have lots of things in stock and a great clearance section. My issues with them lately is they do not have floor staff available to ask questions or assist customers. Literally spent 20 minutes looking for a sales associate other than the ones on the register. I finally found the assistant manager who was in plain clothes but wearing a badge, I think her name was Betty, older woman with blonde or white hair, she was looking at some stock on the picture aisle. I asked her if they sold "straw or raffia" -- she replies "what is that?" I'm baffled someone who works in a craft store doesn't know what that is, it's a basically basket stuffing or looks like loose decorative hay. She was still very confused. She said well sometimes they have decorative hay during seasonal displays but doesn't think they carry it. She then says it may be some on the party aisle and to holler at her if I find it. Umm... how about you show great customer service and assist your customer and help them find their item instead of allowing them to go on a wild goose chase! Very unsatisfied and didn't feel appreciated as a customer. read more

I arrived right before closing (didn't realize the time) to make a return, and the woman who I assume was the supervisor, yelled rudely at me. She had a blond wig on. I wasn't expecting her to check me out or process my return but she didn't have to be rude to me. I was not rude to her, even after she was rude to me. Also, the girl at the register laughed at me. So in general the staff here obviously needs customer service training. I get it, people want to go to go home but the way you treat people is important. You a tell yourself customers without be disrespectful. read more

I always go to hobby lobby at Presidio mostly for flowers and paintings and people were helpful specially younger new people, but I have to say that many ladies not that young are not that helpful when you as a question and they even get bother if you need something and interrupt their conversation with another employee or get bother when they are restocking.....Do they know that the main purpose is to assist the customers?....A friend of mine start shopping in another location for the same reason. Attitude and care at work is important...my son just fired 2 employees because of that. read more

OMG goodness, this is my favorite location. It's huge and I mean it has to be one of the biggest locations. They have everything you can think of here times two! And a huge clearance section of all outdoor patio décor and decorating ideas. If you are in the area, you must stop by here and you will not walk out empty handed. I just LOVE this Place! It is like a second Home to me.... This might have something to do with the fact I feel I have some serious decorating skills.:) Well this is what my friends and family tell me of course. This is were I come for decorating needs I have for the different seansonal holidays. Also this place has EVERYTHING put in order and organized so it is very easy to find and work your way thru the store. My Hubby even enjoys coming here and he likes to go to the area were they have the mobile airplanes, trains, and cars. They even offer classes for some of everything. One day we were there and it was a class going on were stained glass was being made and decorated. The floral section is AWESOME! Let's Not to mention the Artwork & Frames that they offer. They even have a section for Man Cave's..... Wow! I even saw these sections. Wait for it ;)....... Sections for making jewery, scrapbooks, decorating weddings, crafts, sewing, you just name it you will find it. We'll at least they can order it if you can't find it there. Let's not talk about the HUGE sales they have. As much as 70% off on certain items. This is truly the place to go if you are on a budget. This Hobby Lobby has gone down hill in the last few months. I think it has to do with the manager Donna Halls. On my most recent visit, a cashier was extremely rude to me over a deceptive sale sign (see my tip). When I asked to speak to the manager, Donna Halls, she was even ruder than the cashier! Ms. Halls argued with me, and proceeded to call me stupid. This is an UNACCEPTABLE level of customer service. When I asked the cashier what the manager's name was, she refused to tell me. I had to ask another cashier who was all to happy to even spell it for me. She insinuated that my original cashier and the manager were too close, and the manager had problems with other customers and staff as well. I am writing to the home office about this dreadful experience. read more

If you're on a budget and out of ideas, Hobby Lobby is your GO TO place for inspiration with a friendly price tag. I'm currently in the middle of wedding planning and this store gives me LIFE! LOL! They have arts & crafts, a huge floral section, household decorations, sewing materials and supplies...I mean EVERYTHING. No seriously, just go in, walk around, if they don't have it or can't order it...then you just wanted too much :-) AND on top of that, their sales are AWESOME! I'm not sure how often they update/rotate/change sales, but good Lord, 50% off this, an additional 25% of that....*throws money in the air and makes it rain* LOLOL, I love hobby lobby :-) read more

This review is strictly for the yarn section, as I intentionally put blinders on for everything else and went straight there, aided by a helpful employee in front. The aisle was perfectly organized and well stocked and I was able to find exactly what I was looking for and run out before anything else could catch my eye and hold me captive. I like Hobby Lobby because they have just about every craft supply anyone could ever need. My main craft is cross-stitch, which leads to my only complaint. There's only a narrow selection of patterns: adorable animals, religiously inspirational, or proudly patriotic. We have been shopping this store since it opened, but in the past few months something has changed. There are definitely few employees on the floor and it's difficult to find someone to help you. When you do, the employees seem sad/quiet/stressed. Don't expect them to approach you. You need to approach them if you have a question or need help (and they do seem happy to help when you do). Yesterday I saw the manager yell at a customer for getting in line at a newly opened register (only one was open and I was in line for it). The manager was yelling at the woman to stop because she had promised another customer, in my line at the far end, that she could go first. How is that professional? I thought she was going to go start a fight with that customer when she didn't reply. The woman seemed surprised and confused by the manager's behavior. It was surprising to me and embarrassing to see how that manager was acting. I'll bet this manager is what is wrong with that store and the employee moods. This is the second negative experience in a row and, honestly, it's just gotten weird at Hobby Lobby if this is how managers act. read more

I have been in many Hobby Lobby stores. This one has pleasant workers, and they are very accessible. I asked questions in 3 different departments for three different items. Each worker was friendly, and helpful. The restrooms could use more attention. read more

It's a nice craft store with good sales promotions, although management of the store is lackluster in performance at times. They tend to have ego problems and if your wife is pretty you're in trouble because they're not and they're jealous and will treat you badly if you question their pricing and/or their sales literature. read more

This is the first time I have been here, my mom always raves about this store.I was pleasantly surprised to see they had sooo much stuff in this store for all of your crafting needs.What I liked most was that the prices were lower than other crafts stores, and they had such a wider variety of products and exactly what I needed. Great hobby store! They have everything you can think of and more:) it's always clean and the associates are always willing to help you find what you are looking for. The only think I will say needs improvement is the length of their lines... They have a bunch of registers but only ever have two or three people ringing. Other than that, great place! read more

I had ordered some candle holders for a wedding from this store and was told that they would be in on Tuesday 7-22-14 and that they would call me. Well I stopped by on 7-23-14, Wednesday around 6 pm. When I walked in the store two managers were standing in the front of the store talking with 3 of the cashiers, none of them even knowledge me. I gave my receipt to one of the cashiers an she then handed it to another girl, and while this girl was gone looking for my order, the man manager stated to Donna that he noticed that the item was discontinued when he was looking on his computer on Tuesday. Well, why the heck was I not called on Tuesday and told this, or even on Wednesday. This store has the worse customer service that I ever experienced. I will not ever shop this store again. Michael's and JoAnn's will be getting my money from this day forward. read more

This message is long overdue. I'm taking the time to compliment one of your associates, Bob Sharp, of the framing department at your store in Cedar Hill, Texas. He is an outstanding representative of customer service and corporate/community loyalty. He is the most consumate professional and works without ceasing to do whatever he can to assist the office of Texas State Senator Royce West to recognize constituents and community leaders in good times as well as bad. Most often, our requests are last minute because you don't know when tragedy will befall a family and you need a memorial resolution, or when a governmental or community contact is going to want to recognize an individual and you need a congratulatory or retirement proclamation. No matter what, Bob stands ready to be of service. Because of his steadfastness and that of Jon, Adrienne and Gaylord (present and past), we only utilize Hobby Lobby. There are other stores that are bigger, but none better in our books. He comes in early and stays late to get the job done and in between greets every customer that interrupts his work product with a smile and the best suggestions he can give. We recommend anyone that needs matting and framing, professionally and personally, to go to Hobby Lobbyin Cedar Hill and ask for Bob or your framing crew before going to anyone else. As the Chief of Staff supervising 13 staffers in four offices and in two cities, you hear complaints much more than compliments. People expect you to do well but they don't often stop to compliment you when you actually do. I tell Bob and the staff "thank you" every time, I work with them but I hadn't make the higher ups aware of this extraordinary young man and your team. They all deserve accolades and whatever merit plan you have in place, Bob needs to be at the top, followed closely by the members of the framing team at the Cedar Hill store. He has created some pieces that have had our office the envy of the Capitol and at most of the events when the Senator presents these matted and framed masterpieces. I can recall one for UNTD retiring president, Dr. John Price, that had the other Senate staffers and even the Lt. Governor's office asking "where did you get that done" and "do they do that in Austin or the store in the city their member serves". I replied "I don't know" but take a picture and go to the Hobby Lobby and ask." I also remember him helping to put together a piece that was very emotional when one of our staffers, who had been a Senate staffer, for 30 plus years died. He created a piece that featured pictures of the staffer. Everybody just stared at it, touched it and some cried. His mother and wife said that it was beautiful and they couldn't wait to get it home because it was all they had left. I hope that Bob gets this and can share it with his peers and other associates. Have you ever shopped somewhere and really needed that item so bad that you just dealt with the bad service? Well...I did. I really needed this pigment for my paint and Hobby Lobby was the only Arts and Craft store that carried it. I was already mad because I had to drive nearly 15 miles to get to this ONE Hobby Lobby on this side of town. I get there and the sales clerks were very unhelpful. If I, a customer, ask where an item is... don't stand at the front of the store and give me yahoo (very bad) map directions of where I MIGHT find it!!??? With the driest attitude! LOL...That was just a portion of the horrible experience. Noone knew Anything! I paid my money but will never go to THIS particular store again. I'll go to Michael's across the way. I love Hobby Lobby! The Preston/Beltline store rocks! Always friendly and willing to help. Just make sure @ 5 minutes til closing...you are in line to check out! LOL read more

I usually don't make complaints but this hobby lobby is the worst in the metroplex when it comes to customer service! Their customer service has to be the worst in the retail industry. I frequent this hobby lobby often as it is close by, however I NEVER receive any customer service in this location. I will seriously walk by dozens of associates and not even get a smile, a hello, how are you doing, can I help you find anything....nothing! Instead all you get is associates talking about customers rudely while they are stocking, associates acting like you are a burden on their stocking when you need something down that particular aisle. And don't even think they would be willing to MOVE anything out of your way to shop. It's like they hate customers and dealing with the people the pay their paycheck. Seriously this hobby lobby really needs to look at management and their entire team because overall they suck and I will go to Michael's, joanns, or Kirkland's before stepping into this location ever again! read more

I just got home from going to this particular store. I forgot my debit card and only had a check to pay for $22.47. I bought christmas stockings for my dogs......I get to the register and realize I only brought a check....no big deal right? Checks are still printed and the bank still accepts them? I wrote the check and gave it to the cashier, she looked at it and called someone over. They looked at my drivers lic. and wrote my phone number down along with my birthdate....no problem. They put in the information and then get the phone out and proceed to make a phone call after standing there waiting for over 15 min. she says they can't take my check. I was like what? I asked why and they said it was a code 2....after checking with the head cashier he came over and wouldn't even look me in the face. I asked what a code 2 was and they said it could be just that THEIR systems could be down. I asked them to call my bank and verify that the funds were there. They refused, after wasting over an hour I walked out of the store with nothing. Don't waste your time at this store!!! and if you do go......write a check and make them work for your money! read more
