Almost exclusively credit/debit only self checkout, with one register for cash. It was PAINFUL. The line was long. The system isn't user friendly. not enough info for some things. I tried to buy a gift card. The register machine was telling me to swipe it to load funds. Tried and tried. It didn't work. Then the employee told me you can't buy gift cards on those transactions. I understand this might be a result of not having enough employees; however, I'll be doing all of my Michaels purchases online from now on. I've been to this location a few times. The latest was to buy a picture for a new piece of art I just purchased. This location has a good overall selection of frames to choose from. While I was waiting in line for the cashier, my items were pre-scanned so I just had to have a single barcode scanned when it was my turn. Great idea and it kept the lines moving! Also, being a member of their free rewards program is worth it. I usually get at least 40% off on something I am purchasing. And then you usually get another 50% off coupon for your next visit. Great craft store. They have almost anything you would need here for any craft project or for other special moments/holidays. I been here to find things to for my wedding, graduation, birthdays, pictures, glue, fabric, and they have a great rustic selection. Some things you can find at wal-mart for half the price but other things you would only find here like wine corks I bought to make place card holders. Or drink a ton of wine! What a terrible experience today at this store! The store was busy, no one was around for help. When we finally found someone it felt like we had to chase her through the store to answer a question. She finally stopped and barked at us "I'm needed at the register but I can answer a quick question". Fair enough "where are your ceramic Christmas trees with the little lights?" Her response was "I don't know" as she stormed away. Thanks for breaking my 5 year olds heart and displaying kindness!! Merry Christmas! Can't believe this happened in the afternoon on a weekday. I went around 2:30 on 9/29 to find a large, but standard size frame. I found it quickly myself. I had a question, so I waited ten minutes for the previous customer in the framing section. No problem, a short haired girl was training another employee. I finally asked my question and was given the answer. I then said "ok, now you can check me out?" The short haired girl said "no." I thought she was kidding so I asked "you mean you won't check me out?" Again a no as she walked away. Wow. I really am perplexed by this rude behavior. So I carry the thing to the front and wait a few minutes at that checkout. The cashier there was quite a bit different than the prima donna in framing. Very nice and reminded me of the coupon. I've had framing done here a few times without issue, but I definitely think it is time to try some of the new framng stores in town. I will be needing this service a lot in the next few months. I went today to return markers that were fabric ones which was not the right ones needed for a project as well as extra unopened stickers. The manager showed me a hidden paper to the right of their area. Employees should verbally tell customers a d have it posted in eyesight on their plexi-plastic. I just ran in after dinner, at 6:40 to look for strong lights. The woman who greeted us was kind but definitely made sure we knew we had fifteen minutes. I was paying by 6:50 and the girl at the cash register seemed very ready to leave. She rang up our items and then took a phone call...so we waited. When she came back she asked why I didn't pay yet....I let her know I would like to use my educator discount. She huffed and gave me the discount. I paid and she immediately went to the outgoing doors to make sure we left...not sure... so she never gave me my bag. I leaned over past the plexiglass screen so I could bring home what I bought. I mainly support them still because if there is something I know I need form there, I get it with a coupon because they always have coupons! I saw a wreath idea for Halloween on Pinterest and knew I had to make it. I went on my lunch break to Michael's in Crossroads with my supply list in hand. Of course, the store is a mess and never organized. They had at least 4 areas where basic wreaths were. I asked 3 people for help and neither of them knew where to lead me. For one, it's impossible to find things in this store. I have some supplies that I need to re-up weekly, and bounce between a few stores. This Michael's loves to move things around, and employees have no idea where anything is. Even their website is wrong. Second, hugely understaffed and it'll take out 10-15 minutes just to check out. Third, I bought two jugs of pouring medium, just for the price on each to be $10 MORE than what the sticker on the shelf said. The woman wearing the large plastic face mask was rude and said "you should've paid attention" and then REFUSED to honor my coupons saying "they're longer barcodes" and that I can't use my phone? PSA IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR TEDDY BEAR STICKERS DO NOT COME HERE. I am looking for cute little teddy bear stickers. Walmart doesn't have them, A.C. Moore doesn't have them, and neither does Michaels. Do bear stickers exist? Is someone trying to play some rude prank on me? I just want bear stickers! Bear stamps! Bear punchers! Anything! This is ridiculous. I have been in countless stores trying to find bear stickers, and Michaels was the last straw. MICHAELS IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE KING OF STICKERS. If they do not have them, there is no hope. They had a couple pandas, some Whinnie the Pooh, some other types of bears, but no cute little teddy bears. Such a let down. I asked a worker to help me find some, and to her surprise, there were none. She did not realize they did not sell teddy bear stickers either. I looked in the baby shower section as well, and it was pitiful. The whole section was about two feet wide, they barely sold anything. There WAS *ONE* sticker sheet with bears that were *kind of* what I was looking for (not really) but there were only 8 stickers in the whole $4 pack. Fifty cents for each sticker? No thanks. I needed at least 50 stickers and have a small budget, and way more important things to buy than ugly expensive stickers. To whoever is in charge of what stickers craft stores sell, do me a huge favor and put some good teddy bears out. I can't be the only one. read more

This is a very poorly run store. The signs marking sale prices are deceptive, making shopping here, for me, a total waste of time. If a sign marks a sale item and that item does not scan at the sale price, the management should honor the sale. There once was an employee I approached who was of the elderly variety. I asked here where something was. She shrugged and vaguely pointed in a direction. I thought, "Ok. She's old. She shouldn't have to remember everything." I came back to the store a month or so later, asked a young person where something was and she said, "I have no idea. I'm sorry." So I thought, "Ok. She's young. She's ignorant to the world and its ways." I searched for someone else and found a hispanic lady who did not understand what I was saying, an asian woman who pointed vaguely, and an african american lady who told me that where I was looking for was definately on X isle. So I went to X isle, and on the way there, I PASSED the item in question. It was on the other side of the store from where she said it would be. Frustrated at this point, I went to go stand in line where the old lady was doing check out. And it took 15 minutes. Michael's. I want to give you my money. I really do. But I can't do it if you consistently present me with incompetence every single time I come into your store. You are a proverbial "it's a small world after all" ride of ignorance. I could find the shit I'm looking for myself if only you had LABELS on your isles to tell me WHERE THE HELL STUFF IS. Please, for the love of Jesus and his Mom..train your employees. Michaels is michaels. I have low expectations to begin with. I expect there to be no one in the aisles to help out. I don't expect high quality anything. But I do expect them to have things to buy! I've been to this location multiple times for multiple projects and they never have any stock. I always end up having to go to a second michaels further away which actually stocks their shelves. We aren't talking crazy underused items. I'm talking basic things that should never be out like paint brushes or food colors in the primary colors. The other day I took the time to hunt down someone to help and when they scanned the barcode of something that was out they said they should have 24 in stock (no kidding) but had no idea where to look "in the back" for it. I waited until I lost patience and then gave up. I need to learn to just drive further down the road because it's a waste of time having to go to two locations anyway. read more

There's a pretty good selection of basic art supplies here, and the prices are quite good. If you need to fill a supply list for an art class or the like, this is probably a good place to come first. If they don't have the more specialized or higher quality paints, pastels, or pencils, then you can always go to a specialty art supply store, but at least you can save money on the basics. Absolutely LOVE this store. It is always fully stocked. I love the way the end caps give great ideas for projects and this particular Michaels has a better selection than most. I always find what I am looking for and if I have a question, have always found an employee to help!
