Fabric for masks and elastic bands
    Beth M.

I went to the store looking for some fabric to make masks with. The selection was just what I did not find at other stores. High quality, fun prints. The shop owner was so helpful and gave me tips on what I might need. Hand sanitizer and employees wore masks the whole time, all with a great sense of humor and stress free. Great shopping experience!

What a cute store! I took the soy candle making class and it was a delight. The instructor had so much energy and was so excited about soy candles and sharing her knowledge. The store is in a shopping center near downtown - I'm sure it's on the brink of revitalization because there is construction everywhere. The store is bright and inviting. They gave us snackies before class - we gathered our materials and picked our scents and colors then mixed them with hot wax and waited for the wax to get to 145 degrees and then we poured it into our jars and while it cooled I made some other fun stuff at stations - made designs in lids, gift tags and tassels. I decided to make lavender/vanilla candles. What a fun gift for the holidays!! I would definitely sign up for another class here. I loved the hands on help and the friendly smiles and guidance. I loved that I was given a thank you note on my way out! I, frankly, almost forgot about a sad thing that happened today. It seemed like I was entering a world of sweet crafting and calm time.

I used to stop by Mills Outlet all the time and always loved the experience. It's been a few years…read moresince my last visit, so I decided to make time to visit today. I've always enjoyed walking the fabric aisles to admire the vibrant colors and unique upholstery designs. They usually have great remnants at good prices, but today, I have to say, I was very disappointed--and this will likely be my last visit. While browsing the precut remnants, I noticed an employee staring at me. I moved to another section of the table, but the same employee "coincidentally" hovered near me again. I ignored it and kept looking, determined to find a piece for a special project I had in mind. As soon as I found something I liked, I turned around to see her standing nearby, pivoted toward me, and she commented, "I see you found something." After a long day at work, I was simply looking for a quick, creative outlet to pick up some fabric for my design project. Instead, I felt scrutinized and uncomfortable. As an avid fabric purchaser who regularly shops in fabric stores from Raleigh to High Point and NYC, this was a disheartening experience. Most stores I frequent are welcoming and allow me to browse freely without unnecessary oversight. Mills Outlet, please do better. Your customers come to you for inspiration, not judgment. You never who could be shopping in your store.

I live just outside Raleigh, NC and only discovered this place about a year ago when I got back…read moreinto making art. Almost immediately it became my go-to shop for art supplies - and framing supplies as well. I do a bit of framing on the side for myself, family, and friends, and they carry a great selection of mat boards and backer/mounting boards, including archival products. I can't really speak to their in-store frame selection since I've only needed mat board and mounting supplies since I started shopping here. Their art supply selection is huge, and they carry just about anything you could need. The customer service has always been excellent - everyone I've interacted with has been friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. And if someone wasn't personally familiar with what I needed help with, they were always quick to find another associate who was. Their prices are also very fair, especially considering the excellent selection and customer service you get in return. I would absolutely recommend this Jerry's to anyone. If you've never shopped there before, I think you'll be very happy once you do!
