She pointed to another area out of the way, so we moved without arguing. A few moments later, a manager dressed in black walked over and, in a harsh and disrespectful tone, said, "There is NO SITTING IN CHAIRS ALLOWED. Get up now!" I was stunned. These were chairs being sold to customers, yet we were treated as though we were doing something wrong simply by testing them. If customers aren't allowed to sit in furniture that's for sale, that policy should be clearly posted. More importantly, there is absolutely no excuse for speaking to customers, especially in front of their children, in such an aggressive and demeaning manner. The issue wasn't just the policy. It was the complete lack of professionalism, courtesy, and basic respect. My son witnessed a manager treating his father like an inconvenience rather than a paying customer. I expect a response from store management or Five Below corporate explaining whether this is actually company policy. If it is, it needs to be clearly communicated. If it isn't, then this manager needs coaching on how to speak to customers respectfully. This experience was embarrassing, unnecessary, and completely unacceptable. A great friend of mine brought me here last month as I was about to leave to go back home, and she showed me some of the fidget toys she had bought for herself. I instantly had to have a few of them and fortunately, they had them in stock. There is something so amazing about picking up what you think you wish to purchase and be able to hold that item in your hand and the Toy Tree is one such place to have this connection. DONT DO BUSINESS HERE…read more Sellers, beware. You can have a lot of items, in good condition, clean, barely used. They will give you jack shit money wise. I had two full totes of good condition, clothing, blankets, and a few play toys, and they gave me nine dollars total. They offer you the option to wait in store for them to price your items and you are allowed to decline the sale if you'd like, but the typical wait time is estimated to be 45 minutes to an hour of just walking around the store waiting for them to look through your stuff. The other option is to leave your items and they will text you when they're finished, but you don't have the option to decline the sale after that, you can take what they won't buy home or they will "helpfully" donate them for you. In reality it actually took them 4 hours to send me a price, which I now can't decline, and my two full totes of items became $9 cash, BUT DONT WORRY you have the option to instead do store credit, a whopping 20% on top of the cash price and put your money back into the hands of the crooks who robbed you in the first place. They basically scare you out of waiting for them to price out, so that way you have no option but to leave and can't back out. Sell your items elsewhere or you're basically just giving them away, hell for the price they give you might as well actually just donate your used items.

I repeated what she said, then told her that " I won't be shopping here again because I don't work here, she does. She apologized, but scanned my items. Why in the world is this a thing now? I believe there were 4 staff members there at the time. 3 were talk to each other and another must have been in the back as I saw her stocking earlier. I like the products, but will not shop there again for the reason I stated earlier. Unacceptable in my opinion. I also don't scan my items in Wal-Mart, or grocery stores for the same reason.
