We've lived in the Monkey Junction area fir 30 years. Michaelangelos has always bern our go to pizza place.

Michelangelo's on Carolina Beach Road has really gone downhill lately. My family used to eat here every couple of weeks, but after tonight, we're done with this location. We usually aren't in town during the week, but stopped by tonight and the pizza case was almost empty. There was basically one pepperoni slice, a few cheese slices, and some pineapple pizza sitting there. We asked if they were making anything else and got told pepperoni and cheese were all they planned on making for the rest of the night. Meanwhile, while we were eating, the place actually started getting busy, so it's not like there wasn't business coming in. Then I asked for a side of marinara like I always do and got told it was $1.20 for one little cup. That's already crazy enough, but what really makes no sense is a garlic knot with marinara is only $1.25. So somehow the marinara is worth $1.20 and the garlic knot itself is worth 5 cents? The thing is, the only reason I even wanted extra marinara is because this location hardly puts any sauce on the pizza anymore. The pizza here is always dry now, so you pretty much have to get extra sauce. The location near Kohl's doesn't have that problem at all. After I paid for the marinara, I went to pick up my food and they asked where my sauce was, then questioned whether I had even paid for it. The cashier said she thought I took it off the order. I literally had to go get my receipt and show them I paid for it before they finally apologized. On top of all that, there wasn't a single clean table in the place. Crumbs and mess everywhere. Service just felt disorganized and sloppy, and my cheese pizza was burned too. There honestly just wasn't much good about this visit. The Michelangelo's near Kohl's is way better -- better pizza, better service, cleaner, and overall just a better experience. We'll just drive across town from now on because this location isn't worth it anymore. read more

Nice place for a quick slice of pizza, variety of flavors to choose from, at a reasonable price. Welcomed as soon as you walk in the door and food given to you minutes after you order. Especially great if you're in a hurry. Parking available right out front the Monkey Junction location! read more

Restaurant dining area dirty and we ordered salad and was given one small ranch dressing for a huge salad and when ask for more was charged a dollar per cup. Not even homemade ranch dressing came from a bottle. Pizza by the slice mediocre at best Stromboli was good. . Much better pizza at the one located at Carolina beach. I sent my husband to pick up a cheese pizza from their Monkey Junction location. Upon checkout, the credit card machine asked if he wanted to leave a tip. He put $0 because he was just picking up a pizza. He wasn't being served in their dining room. The girl who checked him out said sarcastically, "thanks for leaving a generous tip sir." She was a teenage girl speaking to a senior this way. Plus, the last two times we've been here, the pizza crust was paper thin, the sauce was like canned tomato sauce and the cheese was lacking. This location used to be our "go to" for pizza but something has definitely changed. And, now to top it off with the rudeness from the cashier, we will never be back. read more

We stopped in to pick up a humongous meat pizza on Super bowl Sunday along with two Stromboli's and we were not disappointed at ALL. I love Michaelangelos and this was my first time at this location. I will definitely be back to sit down for this in house experience! The staff was super friendly as they were really busy making tons of pizza, breadsticks, Stromboli's and more. The glass case up front was filled with lots of choices and they all looked so good. I recommend getting the pizza double cut, there was lots of toppings still on each slice, it was so filling and I feel like I ate less LOL. Our go to in Monkey Junction. Always fast, hot, fresh and extremely delicious. Don't sleep on the Stromboli, they are the best in town!

Ordered a large pizza and the taste was good but it was paper thin. Not sure what happened but I was very disappointed. It's been a while since I've been to this location. I like a little more cheese and sauce on my pie. I ate the whole large pie easy and usually I have 2-3 slices left because I'm full. read more

I ordered a pepperoni and sausage pizza online. The pizza was ready when I arrived and it was some of the best pizza in the area. It was cooked perfectly and there was a good amount of toppings. Ordered The Godfather size pizza and it's literally the size of our stovetop. Had to tilt it to get it through the front door. Was great! Also all our sauces arrived and the pizza was delivered right on time. read more

Had high hopes, but was disappointed. Pizza was similar to Papa John's but much more expensive & service sucked: Ordered for pick up one of their standard pizzas well done but swapped one topping for another and on the side. Pizza was NOT cooked well done at all, the topping I asked them to hold was on there (what if I had an allergy???), and the amount of toppings on the side was minuscule. Won't be going back. Ordered for the first time tonight from the CB location to go Pizza, salad n artichoke dip. i got there 35 minutes later to find out the order had not been started. Now it's been over an hour pizza was cold and not even sliced, very little bread with dip. The pizza had no flavor, salad was wilted. I don't recommend this place. read more

My family has enjoyed the pizza from here a few times. Thin crust style, the traditional toppings and a few specialty. The 24" Godfather size is convenient for parties and gatherings, slices are big , the kind you fold in half while eating. I like that they also have pre-made slices so you can grab yourself a slice of something without committing to a whole pizza. They also have lots of other menu choices I haven't yet tried. As with many of the other pizza places in the area, they can get pretty backed up around dinner time, so be sure to call early if you need your pizza on a schedule. read more

The Ricotta and Meatball pie is one of our favorites, and the kids love the classic pepperoni. The crust is really good, and compared to the other local "brick oven" pizza, Michaelangelo's is the way to go. I definitely recommend picking up vs delivery, the handful of times we had delivery it was never as good as pick up and must be attributed to the time in the driver's car. First time at Michaelangelo's. Must say that I was pleasantly surprised. Food was excellent, prepared to perfection. The only thing missing was the oregano. I'm hoping that I missed it because in my opinion, this makes a pizza. The one thing that really makes this pizza stand out is not just taste but the size of a ultra pizza. It's huge enough to cover the table and I mean the whole table. Waitress was attentive. Would highly recommend. read more

A cold, rainy Noreaster Saturday at the beach, who wants to go out in that mess! Lucky for us the Michaelangelo's delivery guy did!! New York style, thin crust full of yummy sauce and cheese sounded like just the ticket. 6 of us, not sure how hungry everyone was I went for the Godfather! I added a Calzone and a Stromboli just in case, and to be honest I can never remember the difference between the two so had to get one of each! Everything was super delicious! Never again. I'd give it zero stars if I could. I have given this place a number of chances. Every single time there has been an issue with my order. EVERY SINGLE TIME! Order online and the wait time is off by 45 minutes. Order by phone, very specific (and not that hard to comprehend...what don't you understand about No Mayo) -- wait time wrong again (add another 40 minutes) and the entire order was wrong. 3 simple steaks, not one even slightly right. Their chicken parm sandwich is made with frozen tenders that they chop in to cubes. Bread is not toasted, barely any sauce, really bad. I would have given a 1-star for the sub and would like to give a 5-star for the pizza (which is awesome), but unfortunately, you have to grade the whole place, not just certain menu items. read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE. Do NOT RECOMMEND. I had to call twice after being put on hold for 10 minutes , but when I was told my food would be ready in 45 minutes, so I made my way there because that was fine. And that was at 6:45 when i placed my order. I didn't receive my food until 8:05. And then I was only offered a 20% discount after the fact that I had mentioned my frustration.
