Nunzio's is the BEST NY style pie we've had in the South. We came up from Chucktown to visit our friends in Wilmington. In CHS, we're constantly complaining about our lack of authentic Lowcountry pizza options. Our friend, Josh, another northern transplant ordered Nunzio's without hesitation. Chewy, slightly charred crust. Sweet, basily red sauce. Mozz that's premium enough to hold together, but also greasy enough to enjoy. And of course....the fold. Ah, the fold. Perhaps the most impressive thing about Nunzio's is how well it keeps and presents when delivered. This is where most pizza places fail. Great in house...but there's a slip when delivered. We enjoyed the HELL out of our Nunzio's delivery. We got a few Nunzio pies, but the best by far was the pepperoni. Just the right amount of spices, sweetness, and chewiness. If John's (on Bleeker) is 100 and Pizza Time (Ft. Lauderdale) is a 95.....then Nunzio's is at LEAST a 91. Can't wait to get the EXACT same pie the next time we're in Wilmington. Pizza molto deliziosa! Torneremo presto!

They are now my go to pizza place and they even deliver! The Margherita pizza is my favorite. Typically I order a small one of these and a calzone to split with my husband. It's plenty for the both of us! Everything I've had from their menu has been enjoyable. Food always arrives hot and in a timely manor. Just a tip- they only offer takeout or delivery. There is no dining inside.

We got a large pizza 18" about $20 bucks. Good yeast flavor and not too salty. This is a review of the basic large cheese but I would eat their pizza over most any other place in Hampstead! But if you're looking for sit down and/or atmosphere this isn't for you. As for the crispy pizza and the regular I didn't notice a major difference. They were pretty similar other than the size of the pizzas. I'm giving 5 stars because it's good and a great value.

Ordered two pizzas- sausage and mushroom and pepperoni. Thin crust. Also Caesar and garden salad. Pizza was delivered hot and timely. They didn't have Parmesan or crushed peppers unless you ask in advance. Suggest they carry that for any delivery. Food was fresh and tasty. Driver was courteous. read more

We recently tried the pizza and admittedly it's some of the better pizza you can find in the Sneads Ferry - Holly Ridge area. All the other pizzerias are a joke compared to this place. There are at least 8-10 other pizzerias in that combined area, and this place takes the lead. Is it the best we have had - not by a longshot..... but those other places are making this place rise to the top. My only issue is the cheese that this place is using. It's not common. It doesn't melt properly and when re-heated doesn't melt at all. Hmmmmmmm? What is this issue about. Would I go back.... Yes because it's closer than Wilmington. Would I consider it authentic? Not really sure. read more

Pizza was VERY large, I was full after 2 pieces. We got delivery but the deliverer was very nice. We also had garlic knots which were okay. It wasn't the best pizza I've ever had because it was also kind of dry but pizza is pizza so read more

Recently moved to the area, and iso of the best pizza for our family. We have pizza every Friday so THIS is important. Surprisingly, there are not a lot of well rated pizzerias in the area but we tried Nunzio's first. They don't deliver to Surf City, so it's a drive and you'll pass other pizzerias to get there. It's also the kind of place where you walk up to a counter, pay your money and leave. The counter staff was super friendly. When I ordered I was told there are personal pizza sizes and large. I got two larges and they are HUGE. The slices are HUGE. Like two slices is enough for one meal. BUT everyone loved their pizza. I got extra cheese. The crust was really good. At first bite I thought this is kind of salty - and it probably was - but you get used to it or maybe it's not that bad. Can't tell. Either way, everyone in the family voted to eat there again. I'm from the south, so I don't know from NY-style, Chicago-style, etc. it's just good pizza. Very pleased. read more

Food quality, service and price are fine. The reason for the four stars is that when placing our order, we ordered several items and when we went to pick it up three out of the four items they said they were out of. They did not communicate this when placing the order and never called us back to tell us so we were disappointed on two occasions. How does a pizza place run out of garlic rolls? Soda? We have tried their cheese, pepperoni and mozzarella/Margherita pizzas. Every single one was delicious. The crust is crunchy but not too thin or doughy; ingredients are fresh; sauce has no sugar (sorry not sorry to all of you franchise pizza fans). The garlic knots were also excellent. 100% recommend. Closest pizza you will get to NY style pizza. This spot blows any other local Hampstead/Surf City/Topsail joint out of the water. Best pizza in this area. Period. read more

I lived in NYC so I have been disappointed in NC pizza until now! From the minute I placed the pizza in my car I teared up . My dad , before he passed , had an Italian restaurant so I was spoiled with good pizza Nunzio's did not disappoint! It's the best pizza I've had in NC a true slice of NY pizza! We order pizza and calzone from here regularly but have noticed the prices have gone up and the quality has gone down - they have been very miserly with the pepperoni topping lately, averaging only 1 or 2 pepperonis per giant slice on the large. Taste is good however, so worth a try! read more

I gave up all hope of ever finding good pizza within an hour of Surf City...until I stumbled upon this slice of heaven! In one small shopping center you have some of the best pizza and bagels Wilmington area has to offer! Both were authentic and service was excellent. Sorry to slight the bagel place - but try them both when you visit Nunzio's. Though I'm not a New Yorker, I do appreciate their pizza and bagels and these places are spot on! read more

If I could leave 10 stars I would! This is the best pizza I've had since moving here from out of state. My boyfriend is from the east part of PA near New York and I'm from the Midwest. We're both picky about pizza and both love this place. The crust is a thin, crunchy with some garlic taste. The margarita pizza and buffalo chicken pizza is what we got and they were delicious! The cheesy bread is to die for. We did carry out and the cheese sticks didn't even make it home. Haha! I live in Wilmington and my boyfriend lives in Jacksonville so it's a great in between spot for us. This will definitely be our new regular pizza place! read more

We stopped by on way toward Southport from Swansboro and picked up a pepperoni pizza. It was AWESOME! I think it's the best pizza I've had outside of New York City. Even though it's an hour away, we will be back. read more

I wanted to try something different but, honestly, I should have gotten Pizza Hut or Dominos. My family didn't like the pizza. It smelled off (I think it was the sun dried tomatoes I had them add to the Sicilian pizza) and the toppings slid right off the Margherita pizza. Neither was very flavorful. The people working there were nice. read more

The pizzas come only in 12" sizes. We ordered a plain cheese pizza, a margherita pizza and a spinach feta bread. We were told that the pizzas would be ready in 20 minutes; it was packed to go in 15. The spinach feta bread was ordered later and took almost as long as the pizzas to be ready. I realized why after I saw it. It looked like a pizza pie: round, same 12" size but cut into many smaller pieces - the pizzas were cut into 8 slices each. The margherita pizza is plain cheese pizza with tomatoes and sprinkles of crushed vegetables. The taste left much to be desired. The important thing is that it fed us. The feta bread is plain cheese pizza with way too much cheese, and the spinach not evenly spread across the pie. Why even called it "bread" when it was made like pizza? There was plenty left for tomorrow's dinner, meaning that we liked it enough to not throw them away. The staff are college-aged young except for one guy who appeared to be in his 70s. There are a limited number of tables for dine-in, but the limited space don't make it dine-in friendly. While Wildfire Pizza is one place we will not be returning to.

I appreciated the thorough review from the first to review Yelper! So I'll get right to it. The parking had initially scared me until I arrived yesterday. There was a nice gentleman directing cars/trucks to spots or to overflow lots. Super helpful! The main bar is smack dab in the middle with Wilmywood on the one side and the stage and bottle shop on the other side. The building is like an old airplane hangar which is super cool. To get a beer or wine, be patient. It's a bustling bar and they'll get to you! I'm not a big beer drinker but I tried 2 on my friend's suggestion. We used the QR code to order from the food truck. We got the hand tossed because the kids would like it better. I wish I had brought some wipes or something because the napkins weren't enough to put your slice of pizza on and then wipe your hands or face. Good, flavorful pizza and they were quick!! Looking forward to going back!

I have no basis of comparison with regards to quality or price compared to other places in the Wilmington area, but $24 for a simple pizza without toppings seemed a bit expensive. Both items were decent, but wouldn't compete with the quality of pizza ingredients I'm used to in the NJ/NY/PA area. The pizza was cooked well with a great undercarriage, albeit a bit oily, but the cheese, sauce, and crust didn't compare to the great pizza I'm spoiled with back home. That said, nothing was particularly bad, so grading on a regional curve, I'd rate Brooklyn Pizza Company a 3.5/5, which I'm happy to round up since all the employees were friendly, and it was a decent dinner overall.
