We visited Wildfire Pizza on Jun 21, 2026 for a takeout order. Although it was a 4-minute walking distance from where we were staying, we drove there anyway. The pizzas come only in 12" sizes. We ordered a plain cheese pizza, a margherita pizza and a spinach feta bread. We were told that the pizzas would be ready in 20 minutes; it was packed to go in 15. The spinach feta bread was ordered later and took almost as long as the pizzas to be ready. I realized why after I saw it. It looked like a pizza pie: round, same 12" size but cut into many smaller pieces - the pizzas were cut into 8 slices each. The margherita pizza is plain cheese pizza with tomatoes and sprinkles of crushed vegetables. The taste left much to be desired. The important thing is that it fed us. The feta bread is plain cheese pizza with way too much cheese, and the spinach not evenly spread across the pie. Why even called it "bread" when it was made like pizza? There was plenty left for tomorrow's dinner, meaning that we liked it enough to not throw them away. The staff are college-aged young except for one guy who appeared to be in his 70s. There are a limited number of tables for dine-in, but the limited space don't make it dine-in friendly. While Wildfire Pizza is one place we will not be returning to. read more

This is based off of two separate take out orders, the first was back in April when we moved to the neighborhood and we ordered delivery- they had initially forgotten one of our items and the delivery driver was extremely apologetic and brought the missing order in record time. On both the April order and our most recent order we had gotten pizzas and cheesy bread. The first time both the pizza and cheesy bread tasted amazing. On the second order one of the pizzas had a very large hair in the crust, and the order arrived extremely cold. In all fairness the coldness was in part to us using a third party delivery system as opposed to from the restaurant itself. The hair in our second order definitely was off puting and I don't know if we will risk it again. read more

Wildly mid pizza It was good for what it was, though it really just depends on what you get. You can't go wrong with pepperoni, but most other items will leave you with soup on top of the crust (not an understatement ); however the crust is pretty good so it does try to even itself out. They were out of a lot since it was late on a nice Saturday. But we got plenty: cheesy bread for K, pepp for Sweetie, meat for me (the "landlubber" or something.) They were out of sausage so my meats were pepp and meatballs. All pizzas were good. (The cheesy bread is pretty much a cheese pizza.) Ordered online, was texted back order was ready 7:03pm. I get there and my order was not ready but they're working on it. I wait for 20 minutes and check on my order and they say again they're working on it. After an hour of waiting the order is ready. Get home and the order is wrong but editable. The issue was pizzas not as ordered, White pie with garlic and basil, we received a red pie with way too much raw garlic, raw onion and no basil, pepperoni pie had very little pepperoni, cheese pie was the better of the 3. Y'all need a better system, a small tip from a pizza guy, you press your dough it works but if you know you're going to be busy par bake a dozen or so crusts it doesn't hurt the quality and it would speed up the process. If you par bake too many you can refrigerate them again it does not hurt the quality. And par bake means about 3/4 baked or they will keep rising. Par-baking addresses several common pizza-making problems. Raw dough can become gummy or soggy under heavy, moist toppings. It also ensures the crust cooks evenly with the toppings, preventing the undesirable scenario of a charred crust and undercooked filling. This pre-emptive baking step effectively creates a stable foundation, leading to a superior final product. read more

As a local, we have given this place every possible chance. As I'm sitting here almost 2 hours after ordering our 2 pizzas "made in 184 seconds" (false advertising), it will without a doubt be the last time. Even on the slowest day as the only customer, your pizza won't be ready in that amount of time. The staff here are clearly directionless, and that's due to the apparent lack of leadership. These team members need proper training. You walk in and no one says a word, and the flow of ordering is unclear. On many occasions our order is lost or forgotten. They are always out of ingredients- today it was shredded cheese and last time it was whole wheat crust. The website is also not up to date. I fear they will get utterly destroyed this summer due to poor service and extreme disorganization. The only thing consistent about this place is the negative experience. Go elsewhere. read more

For the price, the pizza is small, undercooked in our opinion, and just not that impressive. This is one of the best pizzas, if not THE best, I've had in many years. The crust was perfectly crispy, the cheese melty, and the pepperoni was cupped the way it does in the really hot, wood fired ovens. They only make 12" pizzas and we each got a different one. There are only 3 SMALL tables inside but we put the boxes in our laps and each ate 1/2 of our respective pizzas right there. It was wonderful! My gluten intolerant friend got the cauliflower crust and gave me a bite; I was pleasantly surprised. I might even order that next time so I can claim I ate my veggies! Since my review we've ordered several pizzas and not nearly as good as the first. The last pizza was ordered well done. It was so raw the dough wasn't cooked. Let's start with the bad. All though there was some bad it was somewhat out weighed by the good. There main problem was organization . They were not wearing hair nets. They complained about potential customers who walked by wich makes me wonder what they said about me and my wife. Finally the food. It's looks overall we're pretty good. And tasted even better! Although it tasted good it was not cut. I had to "man Handel" my pizza to get a cubicle not even a slice it would come out as a block of cheese and dough. But overall it had a mysterious ambiance which led me to check the bathroom. It was a middle of the road experience in the bathroom it was clean with a terrible layout but otherwise fine. The place is an assembly line/build your own pizza joint. It smelled like a subway sandwich shop. There were no high chairs so we had to take it to go. The associate wasn't so friendly either. Could see the sausage wheel in the store they cut from and asked for Jalepenos and you could tell they were not from a jar. Had a good punch to them and still had the seeds in them. Crust is dense, but very good and held up to the several toppings I ordered. No flop. Not sure if I was talking to the owner or manager, but was very friendly, as were the other staff and took good care of me. I wish them well in business and we will repeat customers every time we are in town. Added bonus: you can order online for pickup. Not an option at most places in surf city. Great concept. Poor execution. They, claim pizza will cook in 186 seconds. Maybe if yours is the only one in line. Called 20 mins before pickoup. Pies were in the oven along with others when we arrived. Took another 10 mins before they were ready to go. "Homemade" Crust was very dense to the point it was hard to cut and not crisp on the bottom. Very hard to chew. Toppings were ok albeit they were precut and sitting in individual containers. Set up like an assembly line. First person uses a press to flatten a wad of dough to the right size and thickness. Next person puts on toppings you choose from the line up of containers. Third person puts them in the gas fired oven til their done then packages them to go and collects payment. On a scale of one to ten with ten being "best I've ever had" it rates a three. On the plus side it is very clean and the checkout person was friendly and courteous. Lastly we are from the northeast and use to excellent pizza so our standards are pretty high. read more

The cash register ran out of paper and that stumped one of them. The next one looked at the bin of pepperoni slices and after consulting another teen worker decided it was too old so they threw it out. Ok, didn't argue with that decision. Surf City did not need a Subway style pizza place. Only one size pizza and you have to move down a line picking toppings. Once you get the pizza it comes in a box and the only place to sit are tables way too small to hold the pizza box, plates and drinks. Pizza slices were not cut all the way through because they cut it in the box and with that small a table you really cannot cut them easily. Also the menu screens were impossible to read with the light coming in from the windows in the front. And just like Subway, Chipotle, QDoba, Salsaritas and Burrito Shak the food must have MSG because we almost did not make it home for the sickness. Owner may need to rethink this concept. read more
