Date of experience: Saturday, July 19, 2025 Location: Domino's, 204 N. New River Dr., Surf City, NC I just tried to place an order at this Domino's location. I placed my order over an hour before I called to check in on my pizza because the app said they hadn't even put it in the oven -- it was still listed as "prepping." This is the third time I've had to call and check on my food from this location, and each time I've been met with a nasty, rude attitude, blaming the volume of customer orders for their inability to keep up. I have no choice but to order from this location for delivery -- and they consistently fail to deliver (literally and figuratively). I have given them grace three times, but all they ever give are excuses. And again today, I was told my pizza still hadn't been made over an hour after placing the order. For the record, I know how to talk to people. I've had years of experience in customer service and communication. In my experience, I would have been fired immediately if I ever spoke to a customer the way this staff has spoken to me -- not once, not twice, but three separate times. I will be leaving this review here, on Google, on Yelp, and I'm considering posting on our local Facebook community page. If I have to take it to social media to be heard, then I will. And to top it off? They canceled my order because I got an attitude back with them -- so now not only have I waited an hour and a half for food I'm not getting, but there's also a $30+ charge on my card that I won't get refunded for days. Late night last minute dominos order to the rescue! We only wished we would have ordered more.. this was a great dominos order and the first time from this store. We usually love dominos and this one did not disappoint! We ordered 2 large specialty pizzas and the pepperoni was my favorite. It was so cheesy. My family mentioned that it was too greasy but my experience with ordering pizza is that is what you get! Greasy pizza is not a bad thing to me and I enjoyed every bite! This Domino's location makes an excellent pizza. In the past two weeks we have ordered twice from them to make entertaining family easy. First experience we ordered a large hand tossed pepperoni, beef & bacon pizza and a large hand tossed cheese pizza. The pizza was ready promptly. When we opened it up to take slices from the boxes the pizzas seemed to have much more toppings than I'm accustomed to. I thought it was a fluke but enjoyed each bite. I could tell the rest of the family enjoyed the pizza as it was devoured. Prior to New Year's Eve we decided to order the same two pizzas. I figured they would not have the same generous toppings. I was wrong. This second order was every bit as good as the first order. We'll be back for more pizzas in the future. I wish all Domino's made pizzas this good! read more

Terrible experience. Closing 35 minutes before closing time and refusing to take a customer shouldn't happen. I can understand if you're busy, but they were not. I ordered in the app and it said my order was out for delivery and he cancelled it because he said I didn't call him back and I called twice. Then he said it was out of his delivery area and wasn't going to deliver it. I asked to speak to someone higher and he said there wasn't anyone there and he was the manger and he never called twice I called him twice. He called once. He's a liar and I waited over an hour for it to even be made and then it was cancelled. Called the store to try to order one medium pizza. I was placed on hold after 5 minutes of the phone ringing with no answer. The man did not even give me a chance to speak before putting me on hold. I then tried ordering online. Order went through right away and they were very quick to charge my card and take my money. An hour after I placed my order there was no pizza and no update so I tried calling again. Same story with nobody available to answer the phone. After 20 minutes on hold the employee told me my pizza was about 5 orders away from being prepared (25-30 min before it goes in the oven). If you can't turn out a pizza in less than 2 hours DO NOT continue to take orders and money from customers hoping to get your shitty pizza in a timely manner. read more

When the pizza didn't arrive still at 7:15, I called to inquire to where the pizza was and was met with a rude employee who was short and very unprofessional. It made me so angry, I tried to voice my frustration that the online tracker said my pizza was ready at 6:45 but was sitting and waiting for someone to deliver. I ordered online delivery last night, July 11, 2020, and after waiting for 2 hours I called the store. I was told by the "manager" (who would not tell me his name saying he was not at liberty to share his name) it would be another 2 hours. The young man who took my order was obviously new to the job as I had to repeat my order several times. He told me that it would be an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes before I received the order. After two hours waiting for the orderI called the store and ask if there was a problem with my order, the young man who answered the phone said that there was no problem and that it would be leaving the store in a little while and hung up on me! If I had not already paid for the food I would have called back and told them to keep it but they had my money! Ordered on line for delivery from Surf City location. It took an 1 hour and 3 minutes to N. Topsail (3 miles away). Following the Domino's tracker it sat in "quality check" for 28 freaking minutes! Go to the Publix on the mainland and get Red Baron. You'll get it home and baked in the oven in less time and about the same quality for a fraction of the money. read more

You have to order early and pizza will be ready in 20 minutes. I never have it delivered. If you order by 5:30 you will be okay. If you wait until 6 it is questionable. It is not their fault. They are the only pizza on the island worth a damn and thousands of tourist are ordering at the same time. There are a couple of other places but they are $20 pizzas.
