Very capable doctor and micro-surgeon! He is a no nonsense guy who will tell you everything straight up. I do not understand the negative reviews. As a trained biochemist who has been seeing Dr Woodbury for 13 years, I cannot imagine a physician who is more focused and communicative. In my most recent visit, I needed a basal cell carcinoma removed from my nose. I remained in the office for 4 and a half hours as he carefully removed sections over and over so as to minimize disfigurement. I don't believe any other physician being as patient. Yes, he tells it like it is. In the South, it is expected that someone should blow sunshine up your skirt. That is not his modus operandi, and I appreciate it. read more

Went to doctor Woodbury because I had a facial mole that I had tried to remove myself (yeah, I know, stupid). He not only removed it but did such a neat and clean job. I've had so much trouble getting doctors in the North East to remove the mole I thought no doctor wanted to deal with it. He not only fixed up my botched job but he sent it out for a biopsy. He was very helpful when I asked him about some other skin issues I was having. I was given a lot of information about post-surgical care and even though I had majorly hacked at my face there isn't much of a scar. (um, post surgical care is my job, I don't bring the doc home with me). His staff was helpful and friendly and not once did I get a lecture about my little self surgery. read more

This is the bottom of the barrel of doctors. He knows nothing except "everything is a rash". The nurse/office manager is the clinical definition of the slang "Karen". The staff is weird and vicious, except the Chinese secretary. She was wonderful. The entire interaction was disturbing. They tried to act dismissive to my issue and it may work with some people but not me. I knew something was wrong when all dermatologists in Memphis are booked a month out and these people had next day opening and an empty parking lot but I was desperate to get relief. Guess what? Still desperate. This place was no help. I would have had better chances of being helped by the homeless guy at the corner. Never waste time here because this is a circus act. read more

I simply can't recommend this office. The admin was rude when I called to schedule the appt. but I didn't want to judge the experience on this alone. The office is a bit dated but clean. I brought my 7 year old in to look at a very common skin problem and Dr. Woodbury was not helpful. He didn't seem confident in making any recommendations - I had to bluntly ask what he recommended twice as I really couldn't tell what he suggested we do. Even when asking he would simply reply "It's really whatever you think"- With insurance, I paid over $100 for this visit up-front - to leave feeling like I needed to get a 2nd opinion or do my research on the internet to get any sort of reassurance about what's best to do for my daughter. read more

I was excited to find a dermatologist so close to home in Collierville. Dr. Woodbury is excellent! I had several lesions to remove/cut/burn off and he patiently took care of each, always taking care to ask if it hurt or I was comfortable. I've been to a lot of dermatologists over the years and I am picky. Dr. Woodbury is eminently qualified (degrees from Columbia and Harvard), straight forward and direct in his approach, right on time and very efficient! I went to Dr Woodbury to have my moles mapped and ended up having something unnecessarily removed because he assured me that it would not leave a large scar. Due to shotty surgical skills and a lack of post-operation care, I have a large scar on my chest now. I would highly recommend choosing a different dermatologist, and would go so far to say, if you have seen Dr Woodbury; it would be best to get a second opinion. Hope this helps read more

Took my daughter here for a Keloid on her ear. His treatment of both of us was unforgivable. My daughter was very nervous and he made the matters worse. He barely acknowledged my daughter and only talked to me and treated me as if I was wasting his time. He then gave me the name of a doctor for a second opinion because we weren't ready for the treatment he recommended (really I just was very unhappy with how he was treating us) and the name he gave us didn't have anything to do with keloids. When I called back to see if we got the wrong name by mistake, I was told that they didn't have a name to give me. No wonder there were no patients in the waiting room. He's obviously very smart based on the Ivy League diplomas on his wall, but that does not a good clinician make. There's a reason this guy's got open appointments. My daughter and I were very pleased with Dr. Woodbury and his staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful. After reading these reviews we expected the worst, so you can imagine how delighted we were when everything went so well. Dr. Woodbury may not be the most personable doctor I've ever been to, but he was pleasant and had a good bedside manner. He seems quiet and maybe a little shy. Perhaps people are mistaking that for rudeness. He listened to us and was patient with us. Our prescriptions each had several refills. I've been to Dr. Woodbury a few times for different things - to get a mole checked out and removed (didn't end up being a problem), foot fungs, etc. I'm a bit paranoid about skin things. I'm totally comfortable with him and trust his approach. The girls in the office are nice to work with as well, for appointments and such. I have been going to the offices of The Woodbury family for years. At least 10+, I have been to George and Michael. I have very bad skin and need prescriptions quite often. George Woodbury, is very intelligent, and makes me feel knowleable, he is through and I like seeing him. Michael is mediocre, and although I'm sure he is just as smart, he doesn't spend as much time with me as a patient. Now here it Is, The one main reason I will NEVER step foot back in ANY of their offices, is their staff. I always say I will never go back because of their lack of customer service. They are sooo Rude, their attitudes are nasty. I am sure they are just following by rules and regulations sometimes, but seriously there is no excuse to have such a horrible attitude. Another thing is that George will give u multiple refills, Michael will not. He just wants more office visits. If other doctors can give me up to at least 6 refills, why must Michael give one, when he knows it will not last me a month? Yeah exactly! read more
