For someone that doesn't have insurance, I was hesitant to even make an appointment to get my skin checked in the first place. Luckily after visiting my primary physician, I was referred here! Dr. Turner was nice and very helpful with choosing the best plan for me. The nurse provided my service quickly, and I was on my way back to work in under 20 minutes.They also give 30% off to uninsured customers, which makes a huge difference for those paying out of pocket. Wait time is ALWAYS and unapologetically well over an hour, which is strange since they spend little time with each patient. Jeannie Lewis, PA talks so fast and in so much detail, it's hard to follow or remember all she's saying. The assistant who's supposedly taking notes doesn't take any for you, so there's no way to review your care. And since they don't offer a patient portal with ability to email your treating physician /PA, you're pretty much on your own to research any questions or concerns. I generally avoid going bcz of their lackluster service and considered canceling my last appt, but it was a follow up to some serious lesions I'd been concerned about for months. After the now-expected lengthy wait, I was done with their disrespect of my time and left. There are other dermatologists out there, and hopefully I can find one that's both respectful and competent. read more

***WARNING*** This doctor's office will charge you a $225.00 new patient / office visit even if you're not a new patient. I WAS an existing patient with Mid-South Dermatology however, it has been 3 years since I have been in the office. I was not informed of this fee until I received my bill in the mail...SURPRISE! Now their new office is extremely nice and I hope you're willing to pay for it! The Office Manager would not remove this fee even though I have been a patient for over 10 years. I had one growth burned off of my head and was charged $361.00 so if you're looking to be gouged in a really nice office...this is the place for you! read more

I've been coming here since I was in HS and I've seen a couple of doctors @ this practice, one has since left! I request to see Dr. Turner because he knows his stuff! He is straight forward and to the point and that doesn't bother me at all because I'm also in the medical field and I'd rather see a doctor who knows what he is doing than one who was chatty Cathy! They are the ones who finally gave me a diagnosis of my Hidradenitis suppurativa, which was extremely painful when I would get outbreaks! So, I will continue to come here! My sister even came BACK here after going to a well-known dermatologist in the are who was doing multiple biopsies on her for no reason! read more

I saw Dr. Turner for hair loss. He took about 2 minutes to exam my scalp before prescribing me the drug Propecia. He did not mention any major side effects. However, after doing my own research I found that this drug carries very serious side effects that may persist after ceasing to take the medication. Dr. Turner acted recklessly in prescribing me this drug. I do not recommend this doctor or this facility. read more

ABBY is a very impolite assistant that lacks empathy and does little to acknowledge you. She is good at manhandling her elderly patients. Bedside manner appears to be lacking in this office. So much for southern hospitality. They do not need our business nor yours! read more

The worst dermatology office I have been too. My patient profile was mixed with another patients profile. I do not recommend this dermatology office because my profile was mixed with another patients profile. I lost my insurance and continued to request a bill but they did not send a bill. Their excuse was "the insurance is paying all telehealth visits" after I repeatedly told them my insurance was inactive. After 2 months, they finally informed me that my profile was sent to collections. When I was never notified how much I owed, nor ever received statements. Their only notification that was sent over via email to a patient portal I cannot access was "We are sorry, we have been showing and billing the wrong insurance in your profile but now you have 5 days before you are turned into collections." Very unethical place, as well as my patient record being mixed with another patients record. Out of all means I do not recommend this place. Avoid this place by all means. read more

Dr. Turner is one of the most unconcern physicians I've been to. He's doesn't explain the medicine he prescribes. It's like he wants you out of his office real quick. Don't waste your time because my condition has worsened going to this doctor. read more

I recently consulted with Dr. Turner for the first time with concern about some sores that had appeared on my arms, as well as some questionable moles. The sores had healed by the time I finally was able to see him, although I knew they would be and showed him photographs. He really had no comment about the sores. As for the moles, he visualized them while standing across the room from me and concluded they were harmless. Despite the fact that my brother had a malignant melanoma at the time he died in a car accident, Dr. Turner made no effort to conduct an exam of my body to determine if there were other areas that might need attention. As I cannot see what is on my back or head or ears, the least he could have done was to have done a hands-on exam to look for other areas. He showed very little concern for me and preferred, instead, to talk about my deceased brother who died 30 years ago in a car accdent. Although my brother had a malignant melanoma which probably would not have turned out well, that was not even the cause of his death. I was a bit puzzled about Dr. Turner's interest in my deceased brother, rather than me. I've never consulted with any doctor during my almost 66 years who made no effort to do a hands on exam. I would actually be interested to see his billing record so that I could know what fees he filed with my Medicare. Will I go back to him? No. Will I recommend him? No. In addition to the poor exam I received, I also had to wait about 1-1/2 hours to see him. read more

I made an appointment with Dr. Turner, I arrived at the early time for a new patient. I waited about an hour and a half to finally be called back. I get in a room and was told I needed to see the physician assistant. The way it was explained to me led me to believe I was going to see the assistant to start my exam and then Dr. Turner would come in and agree/disagree with the findings and go from there. Boy was I wrong, once you see the physician assistant you are their patient (is what I was told after I questioned if Dr. Turner would be doing the surgeries if my biopsies were confirmed skin cancer)!! I had several biopsies done, when I received the call with lab results. After receiving the news all were cancer, I simply asked what my options were...to only be told in a very condensing manner..ma'am we cut them out. I asked about MOHS procedure, and I was laughed at and was advised that MOHS was only done if I had cancer on my face. Needless to say, I did not go back and went elsewhere that was able to perform MOHS on more than half of my skin cancers! read more

When in for a scalp condition. Dr. Turner was recommended so I waited 2 weeks for an appointment to see him. Waited for almost an hour once I completed the paperwork and when I was called back, Dr. Turner didn't see me, but an assistant. She didn't examine my scalp and only noticed things once I asked her to look. She said that if I had a problem with the pharmacy to give her a call and she would prescribe something else. When I called, I had to leave a message and no one called back. Amazing the amount of money we pay to see doctors and can't even get them to spend 5 mins with you to examine and explain. But they are sure to get the copay upfront and then bill insurance companies for a thorough examination. read more

Terrible place! The front seat didn't acknowledge my presence for an hour, when I approched them! I had sat there in a terribly cramped waiting room without so much as filling out any paperwork when I decided to go ask. The girl at the desk acted as if I inconvenienced her by inquiring about the wait time. When I asked her about paper work she sighed and started to collect the forms while telling me there were still 3 patients in front of me! So I was looking at another 1-2hour wait! NOPE... Called to make an appt. wanting the first appt of the day. I did not care which doctor I was going to see, I just wanted the first appt of the day. They scheduled me 4 weeks out, I did not mind that. I arrived early and I see tons of people waiting, really? I filled out the paperwork before my scheduled time. 20 mins later, they call me to the front desk and I asked how much longer, its past my appt time? I get no apology just excuses about having to put the info in the database and I said understand, that is why I arrived early. Another 15 mins later just to have a five min talk with the doctor which did not resolve anything but to give me basically an over the counter cream. The skin issue on my legs hasn't gone away in two months and this is all you have to offer? What, is it so it won't work and I have to come back? read more

I took my 5 year old grandson to mid south dermatology for psoriasis. His insurance was not accepted there so I was going to pay cash. I did tell them we would be self pay before we went. When I got there they refused to treat him because they said they do not take cash payment's. What kind of business turns away a 5 year old for treatment because they don't want to accept cash/credit card payment?. I had been going there for years but will not take anyone in my family there again. They don't care about people. I would not recommend anyone to them they are difficult to deal with and don't care what your problem is. I give them no stars the only reason I did was I had to for this post to take. read more
