Don't be fooled by those imposing America's Best Trainers videos of Daryl wrestling with ferocious looking, killer guard dogs, he is a gentle and caring human with ability to foster instantaneous trust and obedience.
My 11-lb., 6-year old YorkyTerrier mix, out of state rescue pup, had a rap sheet on both coasts!
I knew all about his previous antics before adopting him. He had been given up again, third time returned to yhe no kill shelter in Maryland.
Because it was a family member who sadly returned him the last time, I decided to bring him to California.big have reduced numerous cats and dogs over the years. Never have I encountered a situation like this.
From the very first day, Skipper held my household in fear.
His snarling, attacking and biting were terrifying. My two resident rescues had to be boarded while I acclimated Skipper to his new "forever" home. Little did I know...
Quickly, we were banned by my regular vet after he viciously attacked the vet and two techs. He would run up, bite legs or feet, clamp down and rip! Really a scary dog.
I was advised to consider putting him down, giving him back or risk being sued. I just couldn't accept giving up.
I called several highly recommended trainers, but
upon disclosure of Skipper's behavior, no one wanted the job. Even a big name pet store "animal psychologist" refused to work with him. Vets, groomers, no one would help me.
Finally, a friend's son gave me Daryl's number.
I checked him out on the internet. He was highly rated on all websites. However, while watching action videos of Daryl wrestling with huge, nasty, killer- looking attack dogs, I wondered how or if he would even relate to my tiny 11- lb Kujo.
Desperate, I called Daryl, America's Best Trainer, described the problem, fully expecting rejection.
Without hesitation or any questions, Daryl said, "bring him over." I was euphoric! Someone clearly not frightened by the rap sheet.
We drove up and jumped out of the car. With veiled amusement, Daryl watched as my terrified daughter and I cautiously struggled to cajole Skipper out of the car, obviously terrified of being attacked.
Daryl smiled, and took hold of the the leash. True to form, Skipper went for Daryl's steel toed shoes, but this arrogant doggie that respected no one, stopped short at the sound of Daryl's firm but soft command.
Skipper looked up at Big Daryl and his entire body language immediately slumped into submission and exbibited no signs of fear or anxt. Pure R E S P E C T.
It was almost like a spiritual connection had taken place before our shocked eyes.
In less than 5 minutes, we saw a different animal.
Daryl recognized and brought forth Skipper's well concealed (from us ) prior training and had him obediently responding to commands.
We were stunned. With incredulity, we watched as this vicious little reprobate stood with his tail between his legs, reverantly looking up at Big Daryl. And Daryl never once used the word, "NO."
It was awesome! None the less, because we were still intimidated by this little Kujo, and so impressed with Daryl, we decided to leave Skipper in Daryl's capable hands for training.
Skipper returned home the little gentleman Daryl saw him to be. He was a more relaxed, better behaved pet. The biting, snarling and attacks were over and done.
Having been abandonef by his family of origen, adopted and returned to the No-Kill shelter 3 times before I adopted him -- knowing he was troubled, I now truly believe 6-year old Skipper was suffering from PTSD.
Daryl was able to get him to trust and behave. This was not going to happen without professional help, and Daryl was the only one willing to take him on.
Skipper is today a loving trusted pet and I credit the gentle giant, Daryl Young and his crew for saving our sweet Skipper and all of my family from a very sad fate.
Additionally, Daryl provided the best professional resources for vet, grooming and boarding.
There are not enough stars for the rating deserved by Daryl Young and America's Best Trainers.
