At the advice of my regular dentist we needed to get a root canal. We went to one consult which did not go well. The Endodontist informed me in order for my son to have a root canal he needed sedation. I did not agree as he is really calm and compliant. He does have epilepsy and cognitive delay but I felt he would do ok as long as he was numbed correctly and he felt comfortable. I honestly got the impression he just did not want to do it. So I spent the next week trying to find another option. I decided to go with Dr. Dianat based on my conversation with his staff and patient reviews. Dr. Dianat was absolutely amazing with my special needs child during a root canal procedure. From the moment we arrived, he showed incredible patience, kindness, and understanding, which immediately helped put both my child and me at ease. He took the time to explain everything clearly, worked gently, and made sure my child felt comfortable throughout the entire visit. I am beyond grateful we found Dr. Dianat and he exceeded all my expectations. The procedure went smoothly, and the care and professionalism we received were outstanding. Kim from his office called me today (next day after procedure) to check on him. I'm so grateful for the positive experience and would highly recommend Dr. Dianat to any parent looking for an exceptional endodontist.

I have extreme sensitivity in a tooth with a 10-year-old pulp cap. Last May, I bit into an RX date…read morebar (I've had these many times) and felt sharp pain in tooth #4. For six months I dealt with sensitivity, mainly triggered by hot and cold. I could eat and chew just fine as long as I started chewing on my left side first. Last May, I spoke with my dentist, had X-rays taken, and he told me I'd eventually need a root canal. He didn't give me any other solutions, so I just waited to see if things would get worse. Six months later, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Gharib's office because the sensitivity was getting to me (even though it was on and off), and I started feeling pain up my cheek. I was worried about potentially having an infection or, even worse, an abscess. Christine at the front desk was so kind and accommodating. It was easy to schedule an appointment. She told me that Dr. Gharib is very conservative and only recommends procedures when absolutely necessary. I figured that was just something she said to everyone. At my appointment, I had X-rays done and reviewed them with Dr. Gharib. He was very kind, soft-spoken, and answered my many (many) questions while listening intently to my concerns. I did not feel rushed at all--I felt like I was actually being heard. After his examination, he didn't see any infection on the X-ray, but it did show a slight fracture in the pulp cap filling, which could be the cause of the heightened sensitivity. He didn't pressure me to do a cone beam scan or even suggest it; I personally requested it because I wanted to be absolutely sure there wasn't an infection at the root, since that would make a root canal necessary. The cone beam scan confirmed I had no infection whatsoever--thank goodness. He sat with me for a long while discussing what I could do to help the sensitivity and the slight fracture. He said it might be as simple as replacing the filling with an inlay or onlay, but since my pulp cap is very close to the nerve, that carries the risk of needing a root canal if it fails. He suggested trying Sensodyne for a few weeks and then having my dentist check whether an inlay or onlay, to replace the filling, is an option. There's a chance that might fix the problem. After my appointment, I felt so much more at ease. I was relieved that I didn't have an infection and grateful that I actually had options before committing to a root canal. Dr. Gharib even wrote me a long email afterward, reiterating everything we talked about. That, right there, is a dentist who truly cares. If and when I ever need a root canal, I'll be going to Dr. Gharib. He is professional, honest, thorough, and welcomes ALL questions. All the positive reviews you've read are true. Not every dentist cares like this!

Doctor Park is nothing short of incredible. I have always had a lot of anxiety around dentistry and…read moremy fear caused me to neglect my teeth for decades. Now in my 30's that neglect was really beginning to catch up with me and I knew I had to bite the bullet and go in. The first dentist I went to told me I needed a root canal and 4 crowns. I left in tears, I couldn't believe how badly I'd messed up in my younger years. I read through the treatment plan and noticed that the root canal in question was for a cavity that had not reached the pulp, but was close. I started researching to see if a root canal could be avoided. I went to another dentist for a second opinion, who told me I needed a root canal and two crowns. I went to a third dentist that basically said the same. It looked like I wasn't getting out of this without having a root canal - nobody could save my tooth. Then I found Doctor Park. In late January she squeezed me in for a late afternoon appointment to evaluate me. She listened to my concerns and told me that it is definitely possible that a root canal would be needed - she wouldn't know until she got in there to see how bad the infection was, but that she would try to save the tooth if it was a possibility. Aside from that, I needed one other crown and the rest could be standard fillings. She gently told me that I have a lot of work to be done, and she provided me with a treatment plan. She was the first dentist who was willing to look at my situation inquisitively to see what could be done for me, and that day I decided this would be my new dentist. My first appointment for the potential root canal and crown I was so anxious. Literally shaking and twitching in the chair. Doctor Park was so gentle with me. She spoke soothingly and assured me throughout the entirety of the procedure. I left that day with two crowns. She saved my tooth from needing a root canal when nobody else could. She was also able to save me from needing 3 to 5 crowns like the other dentists had recommended. From then on I had an appointment every few weeks to work on other quadrants of my mouth. Each appointment I became less and less anxious, knowing I was in good hands. After a few appointments I began having a TMJ flare up simply due to keeping my mouth open so frequently for the work. I expressed this to her and for my final appointment she checked in with me often and had me close my mouth any time she didn't need it open wide. I still left with TMJ pain but that's just what happens with TMJ, and is no fault of the dentist whatsoever. I ended up getting a script from my primary care physician to relax the tense muscles and now a few days after my last procedure I am good as new and no longer need medications. At my last appointment Doctor Park smiled, high fived me, and exclaimed "we're done!" When I decided in January that I needed to bite the bullet and get my dental work handled after all these years, I never dreamed that by early April I'd be a new woman with a fresh smile. I would recommend Doctor Park to anyone. My husband, who has a similar past dental situation and dental anxiety to me, will be heading to her soon now that he's seen what a positive experience I've had. Doctor Park saved my tooth, and helped me through years of dental anxiety. Go see her, you won't regret it.

My dentist recommended going to get consultation at Pasadena Endodontix. I read some negative reviews on Yelp and Google but my experience with Dr. Safa was nothing but professionalism and expert care and treatment. I would give more stars if Yelp allowed it. I only felt a tiny bit of discomfort at the initial injection but after that, no pain since. I've had other root canals at other dentist offices a long time ago and they took over an hour to finish and it was painful. I would recommend my family and friends to see Dr. Safa if they need an Endodontist. I hope I don't need another root canal, but if I do, I'm happy to come back here. Is it a bit pricey? Yes, but in my humble opinion, you're paying for expertise and quality care. My tooth is pain free, my blister is gone, and I can't believe I tolerated the discomfort and occasional pain related to the condition of my tooth for as long as I did before Dr. Safa treated it. The office staff and assistants are also top notch and professional. Thank you Pasadena Endodontix!
