WOW! It's been a while since I've visited Michael's nail spa but I will only be getting my pedicures from them from now on! Just enjoyed the BEST I've had in at least a year from them! The salon is also newly redecorated and looks fresh, bright and fantastic! Attention to detail is paramount here! From a long hot soak, exfoliating scrub and delightful paraffin wax treatment to the heavenly massage, enormous color selection and beautiful shiny and smooth execution of my pedicure, I am definitely going to be returning here for all my nail service needs! THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH FOR A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!

Friendly and welcoming business. I like to come get a gel manicure and regular pedicure. I've been lucky to get Tony. He does a very nice foot massage. I like to see Tony, but all the staff are good. Today Linda took care of my manicure. I was very happy with her technique especially her massage at the end. They have nice new salon massage chairs. Place is always tidy and clean. Thank you for a relaxing experience!

Angela, Tiffani, and the gentleman at the front are the whole experience (for me personally). I am sure there are other nail techs that are wonderful. But these 3 are who are keeping us regular. My daughter is 9, and they treat her like she is just as important as any other paying customer! Please watch out for a nail tech named "Jenny" (might be Joy as she was referred to by both names). She was so rude to me and my daughter. I tried to explain what my daughter wanted to do long-term for her nails (grow them out) and she snapped at me twice "I know how to do nails." My daughter said she was rough with her hands and hurt her fingers. Then once she was finished she removed her apron and walked away. My daughter had no idea if she had done something wrong or if her service was finished. Once we let the front desk know, they quickly moved into action, apologized to us, treated her like an actual customer, and resolved the whole experience. But I don't feel right about not telling people to avoid her. It is apparently not the first complaint. Had I not had the resolution I had, or the previous experiences with the 3 I mentioned, I would have never come back. Ask for Tiffani or Angela for a great experience! Thank you Michael's Nails for treating us with incredible customer service. read more

The manicure and pedicure I got were decent, however the prices listed on the main screen did not reflect what I was charged. The screen said $60 for a basic manicure/pedicure which is what I got and then $10 extra for gel. So it should have been $80 and I was charged $92. Not a big deal, but when I asked for the explanation of the difference, I wasn't given one. So I paid it and tipped but I didn't feel like their customer service was very good. Definitely prefer other salons compared to my experience here. read more

This salon is very clean. So many salons now do not look like they would pass inspection by the board. I wonder if the board even comes around anymore. But Michael's is clean. Vincent does a phenomenal job. Hands down, the most meticulous acrylic fill I've ever had. It's an art form and he has it down. He's very quiet so maybe bring ear buds lol read more

Manicurist Kimmy scolds you for lightly wiping off the powders in ur hand and nails while using d tool for taking off d old polish or cuticles . Kimmy told me to stop it , in an angry way. Next time she told me to bend my fingers . Just because she's not even have a conversation with me . It feels like every time she says something to me angrily was like scolding. I had an unpleasant experience when I went for a pedicure with my daughter. The young worker was rude and abrasive in the way she handled my foot and spoke to me. I felt like I was inconveniencing her by the way she was moving my foot like I was a problem. The entire pedicure was half ass. She didn't massage me or put warm towels. Everything about my pedicure was rushed . She rushed and I didn't feel relaxed at all. I kept stressing about how she was going to move me next. I couldn't wait to be done and get out of there. My feelings were solidified about the atmosphere and the workers attitude when I saw her greet and speak kindly to a customer after me. I saw her actually give a shit about the customer after me. It made no sense. Like you're only kind to your "regulars"? You don't extend the same kindness to walk-ins? It's bizarre because you would think their point is for their walk in customers to be return customers, correct? So why treat walk in customers like shit? I did not feel welcome at all. Such a disappointing experience. I will never be back. read more

Don't go here. ****Go to polished nail studio in cayucos *****I paid $106 for a pedicure and a set. They bubbled up the next day and Michael refused to refund money. I just went to cayucos and Polished salon fixed them for $37 and they look amazing. She even added butterflies. I'm begging you to please save your money and go elsewhere. This place is a hit or miss every time. The times i've came here was because everywhere else was busy. The owner Michael is extremely abrasive & almost intimidating. The workers are all pretty friendly, though & do a good job of making sure you like your nails. Unfortunately, this last time I went in for a pedicure they up charged me to remove the dead skin off the bottom of my feet.... Like, shouldn't that be included?? By the time we were seated it was pushing 3:20. One person started working on my feet, while the person I was there with just sat in the chair. Another 20 minutes goes by and no one had even come over to help. The person doing my toes went off to help someone with a transaction. In that time 3 more people came in for appointments, still with no one to help them. At that point we decided to cut our losses and leave. So we spent 40 minutes doing nothing. I got my toe nail polish off and toenails trimmed, that's it. The person I went with had no service done at all. No one really seemed to care that we weren't being helped or that we walked out. The person doing my toes did apologize but otherwise it felt like they didn't care and they had put us in the chairs only to keep us there not to serve us. I'm incredibly disappointed as I've had great experiences here before, but being treated that way, with an appointment is unacceptable. If you didn't have enough people to serve us, tell us that. I would have happily come later in the day or at a different time instead of being treated like that. Unfortunately we won't be returning.

I then decided as I was sitting in the chair for my feet that I would just go ahead and ask if I could get a full set on my nails. Why not? I'm on vacation. When i mentioned my change in plans I was told there was only 1 person that could do a full set. And she was booked for the next 2 hours. Maybe I could come back in 2-3 hours or tomorrow? Uh. N O ... This was disappointing. So now I sit in the chair knowing I'm only going to get half of what I really want. I'm a tad annoyed, but try to enjoy my pedicure. My big toe has a tip and acrylic on it as I wear boots for work and the nail was halfway through the process of growing back from falling off. I asked the tech if she could file it and fill it and she chose to do what she wanted to do, file it and paint it. There was no fill. What the....?? Anyways, my nails are now drying and in comes 4 more people. More pedicures and more waiting. 45 minutes later I'm still sitting there apparently waiting for my nails to dry and nothing being done to my fingernails as there aren't any additional techs to do it. Finally I apologize for interrupting my neighbor's services and tell the tech I am done sitting there and express that surely my nails are more than dry. I get up, pay for my services and am asked if I have cash.... No. I don't carry cash, most people don't carry cash and a lot of places outside of nail salons don't want cash. Oh and by the way, i'm tipping on the card. Just ring me up so I can leave. This event that was supposed to be relaxing has turned out to be more of an annoyance than anything. I was not fully satisfied with my service and I don't think I'll go to this establishment again. Needless to say, I went to Rite Aid next door and bought a nail file, nail clippers, fingernail polish and did my own damn nails. With that said, I will give myself 5 stars for keeping my cool, rolling with what cards I have been dealt and possibly saving myself $50.

Another 20 minutes goes by and no one had even come over to help. The person doing my toes went off to help someone with a transaction. In that time 3 more people came in for appointments, still with no one to help them. At that point we decided to cut our losses and leave. So we spent 40 minutes doing nothing. I got my toe nail polish off and toenails trimmed, that's it. The person I went with had no service done at all. No one really seemed to care that we weren't being helped or that we walked out. The person doing my toes did apologize but otherwise it felt like they didn't care and they had put us in the chairs only to keep us there not to serve us. I'm incredibly disappointed as I've had great experiences here before, but being treated that way, with an appointment is unacceptable. If you didn't have enough people to serve us, tell us that. I would have happily come later in the day or at a different time instead of being treated like that. Unfortunately we won't be returning.

Unfortunately I won't be taking my business here anymore. 3 reasons: 1) eye brow wax left me with a wound - she used wax that was too harsh on my skin. I never had issues there before but she changed her wax and didn't inform me. 2) I'm always told 5-10 minutes for a wait and it ends up being more like 20-25 minutes because they sit me in a chair with my feet soaking until someone gets to me after 20-25 minutes. It would be better if they were more realistic with their wait time so I can budget my time (I have an infant at home so time is precious!) 3) I was scolded by the woman doing my pedicure that I didn't tell her soon enough that I preferred to have my mani at the same time at my pedi. And then her colleague decided to tell me the same thing in case I didn't understand the 1st time. I seriously thought there was a hidden camera somewhere. They wouldn't let go of it. It was so unprofessional. I feel caddy even writing this review, but for those of you where you want a great beauty experience, this isn't the place. :/ read more

I was in desperate need of a mani on a Sunday night, and they stayed open 2 hours past closing time, and were very accommodating to let me get a gel mani with no wait time. I had Tiffany do the french mani and she was amazing! The level of detail and perfection she put into making sure every nail was cut the same shape and length, and made sure to keep checking in to make sure I liked how they looked. The end result was the best french mani I've ever had! She probably spent 1+1/2 hours on the whole this, not to mention an amazing hand/arm massage. She was a very nice woman and I will definitely be requesting her everyone I go back! And it was only $30 for a Gel French Mani! read more

Broken next day after a fill. Having them repair the nail was so awkward. Bad attitudes and very condescending workers. Nothing worse than employees talking smack in their native language. I don't speak theirs but I am human and can read body language and facial expressions and tones. Why do they think they can act this way and expect a returning customer. Over priced, low quality work, and hygiene lacking. After they repaired my nails had to go home and file them myself. read more

Absolutely the worse nail place I have ever been to ... I paid $55 dollars for brush marks and to have partially covered nails and jagged edges. When I went back to show them that I was not happy the nail tech argued with me about there being a problem and he tried to blame it on me. I asked for my money back which they refused. I'm literally embarrassed to be walking around with nails that look like this! read more

I've been here twice and both times were very pleasant. They will let you know if something will be expansive on the nails you want and do a very great job of replicating a design you want if you show them examples.The times I've went I always left with a smile on my face, and while they did my nails I had a nice time chatting.
