For two years, I have tried to schedule an appointment with my doctor, but every time I call, she abruptly tells me the earliest date is four to five months away. When I explained my urgent need, she became defensive, told me to find another doctor, and hung up--something she has also done to other patients. Her behavior has repeatedly prevented me from seeing my doctor, as she shows no willingness to accommodate earlier appointments. This receptionist not only lacks basic manners and empathy but also displays a combative attitude and poor interpersonal skills, making her unfit for a role requiring patient care and respect. I am not alone in this experience--multiple Yelp reviews report similar incidents. Below is a summary of eight reviewers' comments showing how this one receptionist has damaged the clinic's reputation in the East Bay community. Unfortunately I had to change my Doctor whom I liked very much. Here are some highlights from reviews posted on this Yelp page: Kenneth O. "Just spoke to staff that was completely rude unreasonable and unwilling to schedule my wife's appointment " " In all of my years as a Blue Shield patient have I been so disrespectfully treated" "Horrible customer service" Topden T., "Rude as others have reported before me, she immediately started scolding me. " "She blamed me for rescheduling appointments with Dr. Robinson." "hung up without trying to resolve the issue " "As others before me have warned: this place is shady, unsanitary, crowded, claustrophobic, and their interactions with new patients are based on lying and cheating." "one of the worst experiences with medical providers I've had in my life." "their interactions with new patients are based on lying and cheating" Xuxu A. "The billing clerk (Her name is May )is extremely rude and arrogant, she was yelling at me over the phone" "If you are a patient, please read my horrible experience. Don't waste your time and money on this place!!!!You will be treated poorly and rudely" "After that, endless mails and rude phone calls have never ended." "After this conversation, I understood where May's rudeness come from? When your doctor doesn't care about their patient, the quality of their job, how can a clerk care?" " So far, I didn't hear any apologies for their poor management and rude attitude. "What a drama and shady place! " Margaret c. I would clarify every time the type of visit and code you are getting from this shady office clerk. Jackson H "The conversation went exactly as other reviewers experienced - unprofessional, rude, combative. " "she has not felt more bullied and humiliated by a service provider" Jimpers N. "Astoundingly rude and ignorant receptionist" "Hung up on me as I was trying to figure out insurance information. Hung up again on my insurance provider as they were trying to communicate" H Takehiro S. "horrible, horrible, horrible" Cassey H. "The office deserve zero stars. Very inefficient, rude and stupid receptionist" "This scum of a receptionist suddenly said this wasn't working out and abruptly hung up on my face! " " That stupid receptionist has no customer service skills and who is she to decide the call is not working out?! she is suppose to help and figure things out not hang up! I don't know how scum like her keep their job having 0 customer service skills!"

Fortunately there was…read morenothing scary about Dr. Raskin and his kind assistant when they showed up to do on-site flu shots for our law firm. Our regular company had gone out of business and we received (a great) recommendation for this Doctor. The process of arranging for his two-person team to come at a time convenient to us was as painless as his shot. I was very anxious as the stick time grew nearer, but when it was my turn to sit down he calmly asked me about work and I hardly knew he was done. I'm not kidding - painless! He accepted a business check for payment of our 19 shots ($25 each) and now our office (and a couple others on our floor) are flu-safe. Shots are also given at his El Sobrante office so give them a call if that's your area! They'd be happy to stick a needle in your arm. And I promise it's the least amount of suffering possible.

Hours of calls to my insurer yielded no results. I searched for another doctor in my plan and called Dr. Berman. His assistant Laura walked me through the precise steps (what to say and to whom) with my insurer to be certain that my urgent care visit would be covered. She then helped me enroll with Dr. Berman as my PCP so he could make the referral. All went well on that occasion and ever since. Dr. Berman listens well and takes the time to get to know his patients. His advice has been invaluable. He is wise as well as smart, is very responsive, and follows up with patients to be sure they are doing well. He even directed me to what has become my favorite hiking trail! If you want a doctor who cares about keeping you healthy instead of just treating symptoms look no farther. Dr. Berman is the best!

There was an initial visit to talk through the procedure, go through any questions I had. Worth noting, Dr. Kogan was booked out for several months. After the office visit, I went to get the laxative prep. It's now in pill form which I have heard is much better than the liquid form. Prep involved not eating certain foods 4 days in advance. 6 PM the night before the procedure is when laxatives and water is consumed. This is repeated 5 hours before the procedure. Day of procedure, went in at 8:30 and was out by 11:00. The procedure itself took less than 15 minutes. All in all, I had a little anxiety going in, but Dr. Kogan and staff comforted me with their professionalism and empathy throughout the process.
