However, she is scattered and disorganized to the point to where I became concerned that her carelessness could be harmful. During my first appointment, Dr. Jones asked me to write down a list of my current medications, and then asked that I highlight what needed to be refilled, and requested that I write down what medications I've had bad reactions to. I carefully listed each medication into the correct category, we discussed the list, and she agreed to refill what was under the "refill" section. When I got to the pharmacy to pick up the prescriptions, I saw that Dr. Jones had called in prescriptions for the medication that I'd had bad reactions to, and refilled medication that I did not need refilled; which of course my insurance didn't cover. She had mixed up the lists, and what is worse is that she insisted that it was the pharmacy's mistake. On another occasion, she wrote me a prescription for a specific ailment that I was suffering from, and when I came for my follow up appointment, she read from her notes that she had put me on a completely different medication for an ailment that I have never had in my life. When I explained that her information was incorrect, she insisted that I was mistaken and my memory was bad. Perhaps I caught Dr. Jones during a difficult time period as she had just moved offices, but good organization is important in medicine, and I hope that she has improved her practice.

She also goes above and beyond for her patients...I was in a pickle at this year because I found out my ob/gyn practice didn't accept doulas (they hadn't informed me, and I was 3 weeks away from delivering). Unfortunately most of the other practices were already booked and not accepting new patients. Dr Dijkstra empathized with my predicament, made a few calls and found me a solution. I saw her recently for cardiac symptoms that I was experiencing (as a young and athletic female, I'm not exactly your typical patient who has heart troubles). Dr. Tagliaferri listened to my concerns, asked key questions, and then thoughtfully explained potential diagnoses...it was easy to speak to her and I could clearly understand what she was thinking. I really appreciated that she did not dismiss my concerns because I am an atypical patient; she was very thorough. I am so, so glad I went to see her because I was referred (very quickly due to Dr. Tagliaferri's perseverance - she got my appointment moved up by a week and a half!) to a top-notch cardiologist who is very concerned about ruling out a serious issue. She even told me questions that I should ask the cardiologist! Dr. Tagliaferri really took the time to listen, investigate and understand what I was experiencing and I am truly grateful for her knowledge, compassion, and attentiveness.
