Although I did not purchase anything during my visit to the store, I had very lovely interactions with Taryn and Loretta. I received a watch as a gift and needed to have it sized. Even though Jim G. did not purchase it in this store, they were more than willing to size it for me anyway. Taryn was very patient, as I asked her to change the size a few times. While she was doing that, Loretta and I chatted about bags, clothes, watches, etc., and she showed me one of their new bags that I couldn't stop looking at. I'm still thinking about the bag and I can't seem to find it online (always my preferred mode of shopping for things other than clothes). I really hate coming into this store. The only reason I come in here is to look at the collection or to feel the product before I purchase it online. The problem is with this store is that NO ONE GREETS YOU and when they do they only target people who have money or look like they have money. It's like the staff are professional GOLD DIGGERS!! Where is the etiquette?? It's your job as a customer service sales rep to greet ALL customers whether they're browsing or buying. It's not rocket science to do your job. I just feel that the staff get lost in working for MK because they get a 50% discount for themselves and that's cool but boo boo you're attitude is not on MK's level so you should knock it down a couple notches and be courteous to everyone. This is the main reason why I prefer to shop and buy at Henri Bendel because the customer service is on point and friendly. IF I COULD GIVE THIS STORE 0 STARS I WOULD. On 12/01 I came into the store looking to purchase a pair of pumps. I had looked at a few styles online, but I always find it best to go into the store (especially since sizing in pumps tend to differ). I asked associate Ryan if they had the Kekes (in any color or size) in the store so that I can at least look at them and then ordered what I needed to be shipped to me. She then proceeded to ask ME what shoes those were. I told her they were pumps. Long story short, she said she was a new associate but she just knew that they didn't have them. She said that without taking a look in the back nor at any part of the store. I then asked her what pumps they did have in the store. She proceeded to GRAB HER IPAD to show me pictures online. I told her I had already done that, I wanted to see what they had in stock. She said she did not have ANY PUMPS IN ANY SIZE NOR ANY COLOR IN THE STORE. Hard to believe. She honestly just did not want to help me. I drove to the Sherman Oaks store the next day and was treated very well. The ladies at the Sherman Oaks store are nice, attentive, and helpful. I bought 2 pairs. Honestly note to the topanga store: A customer is not going to drive to your store so that you can show a selection of what you carry with an ipad, walk the extra 10 steps and show them in the show room. Isiah is hands down the most arrogant person i've met how are you a sales person with an attitude towards paying customers. Didn't acknowledge me because I didn't come dressed up. I walked over to the wallet section and the young man working at the time approached me to offer his services. He was very polite. Went there for Christmas Eve and I got a gift card for my friend. Well it turns out that my friend doesn't like Michael Kors. So I called 2 weeks later and one of the girls told me that I can return the gift card and get my money back. So I drove all the way from Panorama City to Canoga Park and then the one of the lady didn't even know how to do it. So then I had to wait for the manager to finish her lame conversation with a friend. I am like come on lady hurry up so then she was like this is my first time doing this. I am like ok... My 8yr old daughter recently received a clutch and wanted to purchase charms to add to it. To be honest, I wasn't expecting full service as the purchase wouldn't be more than $40. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Britney, who gave her full attention to my daughter. Asked her questions and helped her find just the right charms. As Britney rang us up, a gentleman assisted in placing her charms in a cute drawstring pouch, tucked neatly in tissue paper and placed in the a Michael Kors store bag. My experience at this particular location was awful. I sent my mom in for me to return an item, and they told her she was unable to due to the fact she didn't have my card. I called shortly after and let them know I do not have that card number anymore due to fraud, and that I would be getting a new one. The store manager on duty told me it's there policy and they can't do anything but give me store credit. Are you kidding me? A store policy? For a customer that spends thousands of dollars here you are going to tell me it's "just your policy". She then tried to blame it on her system and say the system will only recognize that same card. Yeah okay, I've worked retail as well and we all know that is not true. Hello. I actually do not even want to give this place 1 star. Not because of the product but because of the staff there that was there today 10-20-13 @ 1300. Staff there today could have been a little nicer. In fact, they could have been ALOT nicer. I won't name them by name... But very rude girls... Ya'll ain't all that. It was like a scene from Pretty Woman. Not quite sure why they had to be so bi*chy, but they were. They made the experience EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE. If you have the option to go visit another location, I would advise you do that. I was looking for boots and stop by the store more then two times to try the same pairs until I got the catalog home and saw a pairs that might work for me. I got to the store and ask about the boots in the catalog that was not available, Laila was so nice and helpful we looked online in all the pictures and she offered to order them with shipping directly to my home. I can be incredibly indecisive when it comes to gifts, but the staff is endlessly patient with me and goes above and beyond to help me find the right thing every time. The moment you enter this store the staff has this phony sales person energy, who has their noses in the air making customers feel like they are beneath them, reality check you are just a sales person not a rocket scientist, or Jeff Bezo, like a previous customer mentioned in the review you have to dress up in order to be treated as an equal. I asked one person are you the manager, she said yes we are all managers here, what a bunch of B.S, another sales person or so called manager gave me the hardest time purchasing a bag I had on hold, lied that he didn't have one that was wrapped up, after I showed him the scratches on the bag, only then he magically found a new bag from the bag. He then was forcing me to purchase this bag as a final sale, because they were price matching it with their own website. Horrible customer service, he made me feel like he was giving me the bag for free and was doing me this giant favor. After almost 40 min dealing with this horrible person , Ana came through and rang me up. At first unwillingly, then as I thanked her , her demeanor changed. But a customer should not go through loop holes just to make a purchase. I will never go to a Michael Kors store again. Their website is the same, sells bags that are sold out then you get an email that your order was canceled, mean while the bag still shows on their website for purchase. This is a great store. The employees are all very friendly and helpful and what I love is that they are trained very well. I know that Michael Kors is a designer brand and very on point with trend but I'm too busy to really know all of those details...However, what I love is that the employees are trained to know all of those details which makes it easy for me to shop. Daniel S. is one of their employees and is my absolute favorite! He knows all about "Michael" and what his brand is all about and loves to style and pick things out for people. WOW! What an amazing experience. I have been to several MK locations across the country (I'm from Texas and travel a lot for work) and this store has by far the BEST STAFF and best selection. From the store manager down to the associates, they were all beautiful (it's LA so of course they were) helpful, genuine, I had the best time. Once I started getting comfortable they offered me wine and I told them I would come to them for happy hour from now on! Because of my terrible experience at this particular MK, I was considering never purchasing and MK ever again. I have several bags and wallets from here, and was a big fan. I received a gift from a friend and was trying to exchange it for something more expensive, since the gift wasn't my style. The Manager Kristina exchanged the bag but not the wallet... So I ended up spending out of pocket... which was fine... I understood that it was guidelines... however... I called a different store, and was told by their representative that the exchange is not a problem at all! I took the wallet same day and she exchanged it in a matter of seconds, she was extremely pleasant and professional... Kristina was rude, and she did not want to go out of her way to help a long time customer..She seemed unprofessional and inexperienced... because of this.. I will never step foot in Topangas MK again. Because of my extremely pleasant shopping experience at the other store I visited... I will continue to shop from MK, just that same day I ended up purchasing another bag, and another wallet... I don't understand how this girl is an employee, let alone a manager. In addition, the bag that I wanted apparently came in two different chain colors, those were not showed to me, and I got gold instead of silver... when I prefer silver, and Kristina stamped final sale on my receipt so now I can't get the silver even though the bag is completely untouched. read more
