Had a bumper replaced on a 2017 Toyota Prius here a few months ago (August 2025) and I have no complaints. The paint has held up perfectly so far, and the parking sensors along with the other systems that use the bumper's equipment all work exactly the same as before. I actually had a small delay in the replacement process, but Hung called me to let me know. He also disclosed why there was a delay, which was because he saw imperfections in the paint, which I really appreciated. There is an Enterprise close by to this location, which made getting into a rental car very easy; they called Enterprise for a shuttle, and it was a quick ride to their building. Overall, I would definitely recommend based on the quality of their work and the whole experience. Not sure how competitive their pricing is; I didn't compare quotes because the costs were covered by insurance in my case. This repair came out to be $2400, so make of that what you will. read more

Brought my car in for damage to my rear tail lights. The cost was fair, and didn't take long I was in and out of the shop same morning. They also wash your car which was a nice touch. So we have found the best car repair place in San Jose. Michael J's Collision Center. The guy who helped us is Keaton Singer. My daughter has a well loved 7 year old car w 92K and it had a few small non-mechanical issues. (Gas cap kept getting stuck closed, weather stripping on sun roof was coming off, license plate light had come loose and was dangling) At the Kia dealer they quoted her $2000 to fix these minor repairs. We just happened to drive by this shop and on a whim stopped in and checked to see if they could give us a quote. They not only did that but fixed all three items on the spot for basically nothing! Do you love your vehicle? I do! Do you find yourself parking far away from other vehicles in a parking lot in hopes that no one parks next to you? I do! Would you be so sad if someone crashed into your vehicle? I was! I love, love, love my 4Runner! Just got it a couple of years ago...brand new! I take very good care of it and anyone that has been in the passenger seat would tell you the same thing. My 4Runner recently got t-boned on my front passenger side. There was a lot of damage done to the vehicle. I was upset and sad that my car was damaged, and nervous about repairs. My suspension (and many other components) of my vehicle were all "pushed in". There was visible body damage as well. How would I know what body shop to use since I have never needed one? I got a referral to Michael J's the day of the accident. I called them and had a very reassuring conversation with Jeff regarding the repairs of my 4Runner. He said all of the right things. I could tell that he knew exactly what he was talking about. My 4Runner was at their 4th street shop just a few hours after the accident. From the time my car landed at their shop...all the way until I picked it up (one day shy of 3 weeks) my estimator, Keaton, kept in contact with me in regards to what was going on with my repairs. He sent me an estimate, provided updates as to when parts were ordered, when parts arrived and how my repairs were coming along. I never had to ask for any of those things because he was so fantastic at keeping me in the loop each step of the way. I picked up my 4Runner and it looked like it had never been in an accident. This was my first time ever being in an accident in the 16-ish years I have been driving, so I was not sure what to expect. The staff were very friendly and emphasized my AAA membership benefits. I was pleased that they're also a Toyota certified auto body shop. Hung helped me with the majority of the process. He took the time to explain everything--from the repairs to rental car to warranties--in detail and answered all of my questions. He was communicative, friendly, and professional, as were the other staff. My average wait time was around 2 minutes, which is awesome. I was nervous about my car being unfixable due to the unibody design and location of the damage, but Hung called over the senior auto body specialist who took one look at it and said "no problem!" They certainly delivered on their promises. My car literally looks better than the day I drove it off of the dealership lot. All said and done, it only cost me $500 for my deductible. Evan was able to squeeze me in for the service even though it was clear they were very busy and booked for weeks. The entire job was finished in 1 day but I was skeptical when they told me the car was ready so soon. The color of my car is more specialized so other body shops in the past always took extra days just to get the paint job right, and even then it didn't match well. Although this place may be good, during my visit I witnessed a staff member using profane and boastful language while speaking loudly on speakerphone with a customer or acquaintance. I do not believe in perfection, but my goodness this place might have me rethinking that. I have a matte finish paint and live in the East Bay. My car was hit, which damaged the entire front end, and some of the hood. I found well-established collision shops in my area, but none were comfortable with the specialization required for the Matte finish or they didn't covey confidence they could match the color precisely. I eventually found Michael J's (Jeff - owner). I explained my need, my worry, and the hesitation expressed by other shops. Jeff's reply: "I will have your car looking like a new, matte isn't a problem". We chatted a few times before bringing it in, but again, after not finding shops I trusted within an hour of my location. I decided to invest in the 65-mile drive. My Toyota Highlander was hit with a falling branch as I was driving on Pine Avenue, San Jose. The windshield was cracked, sunroof was shattered and the hood and roof were dented. I experienced a hit and run mid December, but unfortunately with the holidays being in the same month, my insurance didn't allow me to get my vehicle into the shop into Michael J's until January 3rd. My car was towed in through my insurance and I didn't receive my vehicle back until today, February 10th. Evans, who was in charge of my vehicle told me in the beginning that my damages looked like it would only take a week to a week and a half. However, Evans informed me that my vehicle suffered internal damage which extended my pick up date. I didn't have a rental the whole two months because I'm under 21 and my insurance wouldn't cover the whole time period I would need it. One thing I would suggest to the shop is to communicate better and give updates at least every end of the week. I did express to the manager Jeff, that I always had to be the one to call the shop or get in touch with Evans to ask how soon will I receive my car back and how much progress has been made. As a full time student who also works full time, it was extremely stressful and difficult not knowing when I would have my vehicle back. I do appreciate all the damages being taken care of and my car being given back to me as if it never got hit, today is a good day! read more
