I have tried other trainers in the past for my 8 month old maltipoo, and I have only seen results with Michaels guidance. When we got our 8 week old Vizsla puppy, as first time dog owners we greatly underestimated how challenging crate training was going to be. Every night the first couple of weeks we had him he shrieked, howled, and cried in his crate, making it impossible for us to sleep while causing us great anxiety as we live in an apartment building with poor insulation, and we knew it was disrupting our neighbors. You could hear the noise from down the street that's how bad it was. Desperate, my partner and I searched for any solution - thunder jackets, padding the room his crate was in with blankets/cardboard/foam, CBD treats, but ultimately nothing seemed to help. I then realized we really needed someone professional to help with crate training - we kept caving in at night because the barking was so severe, and we knew it could jeopardize our relationship with our landlord/neighbors. That's when I discovered the stellar reviews for Michael, who offers "board and train" for a week (or more if you want) as one of his many services. While it was definitely a monetary commitment for us after already getting a designer breed, I felt instant relief when Michael took my phone call and walked me through his services, what we could expect, etc. We finally committed to the program and Michael met our puppy who istantly took to him and became calm. He really is a dog whisperer! He then took our puppy for the week and provided us 3-5 text updates a day (with many cute photos) outlining our rascal's progress. Every day he would inform us of how our dog "Beans" adjusted to the crate, and it seemingly got better and better. A big benefit to working with Michael is that he has his own single family home in Studio City with no shared walls, so he'll allow your dog to bark itself out to the point of exhaustion, which is what we needed. Additionally, he has other dogs staying there (including his own), which worked extremely well to quickly socialize our unvaccinated puppy in a safe, parvo-free environment. He has also has a huge, gorgeous 100% enclosed backyard which again, allowed our puppy safe exercise and activity that we couldn't provide in our more urban environment. When Beans came back, it was NIGHT AND DAY compared to how he'd been. After a week with Michael, he could handle being crate trained every night with little protest, and he now no longer shrieks or moans when being put inside. 4 months later, he's an extremely well adjusted dog. He loves all humans/dogs, and I think it's largely due to the early socialization he experienced at 10 weeks old. All in all, I can't recommend Michael enough - like I said, a week of board and train is an investment for most people, but truly pays off.
