    Bailey + Tess (dog)
    Tess Q.

When I adopted my dog Tess she was super sweet and seemed like she would be great with people, other dogs and kids. She didn't display any aggression or negative behaviors. About a month in, she started randomly going after men on the street. At first, I thought it was just a phase or fluke accident and then I realized as time went on it was more people and sometimes women and kids. It all came to a head when she lunged after a man who then got really aggressive towards me, I was so upset about the incident and decided it was finally time to do something about it. I had heard great things about David from one of my good friends and so I reached out to David to set up an evaluation. Best decision ever! When I started with David, Tess had a decent amount of obedience that I had taught her myself, but the one thing we were missing (that I didn't know at the time) was clear communication. I could feel Tess getting annoyed and frustrated at times. David was able to explain to me how important it is to have clear communication with your dog and once you establish it training becomes a whole lot easier. From the very first session I felt that Tess and I's relationship was stronger. I was getting more engagement from her and she was visibly less frustrated with me. I loved being able to go back to basics and sort of start over with her. Throughout the program we were able to address so much more than just her aggression, her leash walking is phenomenal now, I feel she's more confident, and we have more trust and respect for each other than I ever thought we would. One of my favorite parts about working with David was the way he was able to explain the psychology behind Tess's actions. Not only did he explain it to me, I learned to read physical signs she was giving me to know when she was stressed, scared, etc. Now I know how she's going to react to things before she even sees them, setting us up for success in preventing any issues. By the end of the program, I felt like I had a different dog. Walks were so much less stressful, I looked forward to taking her on walks and working with her. Working with David gave me and Tess clear goals to work towards each week and it was nice to focus on one or two things at a time. Tess and I were even able to fly home together without incident, something I literally never thought I would be able to do. I truly feel like I'm prepared for all scenarios thanks to this program. The most rewarding part of training Tess is being able to see her progress over time. I'm so proud of the dog she is today and I'm so grateful that she's smart and willing to work when I ask her to. Our relationship and bond is so much stronger than it was before we met David and I can't ever thank him enough for that. I love that she's a challenge dog and I have to work hard with her. I've never taken one of my dog's to training and I can honestly say it's the best decision I've ever made. I have so much fun training her and I look forward to continuing training for the rest of her life. I will never not use David for any of my dogs in the future. I don't think I'd ever trust someone as much! He not only was great with Tess and helping her become the dog she is today, but he helped me to become a better handler. Not only that, he makes training so much fun and never makes you feel dumb for your mistakes or your lack of knowledge. I will tell everyone I meet, whether they have a puppy or an aggressive dog you HAVE to work with David. Not only will he give you the tools to work with your dog, but he'll also give you the relationship with your dog you've always wanted. David, I can't thank you enough! Sounds dramatic, but working with you has been life changing and I feel more confident as a dog owner and I'm ready for any dog I will have in the future (maybe even a mal )! THANK YOU!!

I had a FANTASTIC session with David and his team. Genuinely caring, great listeners and so educated on what your fur baby's needs are. They offer a great step-by-step building system for how to effectively address your dogs needs, and help the human with how to build a stronger relationship with your fur baby.

I reached out to David about two days ago to help me and my best friend, Nala. She is a 4 year old lovable pit bull that has dog aggression. I have to say I am very impressed with how well she responded to his technique during the evaluation. I have always struggled walking her and so far she pays more attention to where I am going and walks next to me verses pulling me during the walk. David is very profession and get straight to the point. I am confident that with his continued help, Nala and I will develop a better method of communication and understanding. Modifying her behavior will take effort from both of us and I am sure we can get her to where she needs to be I highly recommend David!

Thanks for teaching me how to play with my puppy, David.

David is a dog trainer with an extensive amount of experience working with different kinds of dogs in a variety of settings (working dogs, pets, movie dogs, etcetera...). His experiences have clearly allowed him to communicate effectively with dogs by evaluating their needs and motivation. David specializes in building an appropriate level of confidence in dogs especially puppies. Speaking with David about different dog training topics has served me and my working line puppy well and his demonstrations will help any dog owner with day-to-day interactions long after training classes are over. Highly recommended.

Recently boarded my puppy for two weeks with Jaz while out of the country. I specifically chose to have my very impressionable and confident boy hang out with the folks @ I work dogs because I knew Jaz would use their experience and expertise to be honest about problem areas and what to look out for as he continues to develop. As expected Jaz gave me an honest review of my pup . She gave me some specifics to work on with him and was clear and communicative about what his specific needs are. She's helped me search for sporting places that would fit his needs and drive, and was more then happy to share her experience with such. She also immediately let me know when he wasn't feeling well (due to no fault of her own) and kept me posted about his health following. She even went so far as to help me tape my little dudes ears despite me not providing additional supplies for such. He came back a more confident pup, who had been amply socialized in my absence (a key reason for me choosing to board him) with clear cues for new behaviors and obviously well cared for. He was seriously so soft and definitely smelled better then when I dropped him off. Can't thank Jaz enough for taking such good care of him, and keeping my Mali-mutt working while I was gone.

    Sit...says our 6 year old...et voila, it's that easy :)

Unfortunately, this place was a HUGE disappointment and had a huge negative impact on our pup. Long story short -- Everything here is a sales grab. The few girls care for the animals but the "managers" and men there are just there for the commission of your packages. I had a whole conversation about their unethical sales pitching with the employee while picking up my dog lol. It's "how they keep the place open" - the employee's words, not mine. Astounding. Said employee also asked what I did for a living because I questioned their sales pitch tactics -- I'm in sales. Also, If you need their VIP services for your unspayed or neutered pup, please spend your money elsewhere!! Before committing to a membership, we did a trial day and spent hundreds on drop in days, grooming, and overnight boarding to see if it was a good fit for our high energy pup. Our dog is not neutered and we don't plan on getting him neutered so we chose their VIP rooms. His breed is also extremely high energy and they promised they could accommodate. I also inquired about training multiple times and they kept saying the trainer would contact me. Everything went great after those few visits, they seemed caring and said he was a great fit for a membership so we end up signing up. Then everything went downhill. Upon the first day of the membership, our dog all of a sudden had behavior issues and needed to be picked up. In the middle of my work day I call the shift manager, and he states that if we want our dog to stay, he needs training ... (from their same trainer that I've inquired 3x about before committing to a membership, still haven't heard back). I asked why this wasn't communicated ever before committing to a membership and they didn't have an answer. I informed them that I would've paid for training before committing to a membership if they would've let me know that there were any issues. Our dog went a couple of more times until they could finally get me in touch with the trainer, 6 visits later. Actually I had lost complete trust at this facility. To add insult to injury, I was able to speak to one of their actual workers that is with the dogs and she let me know that our dog is only let out for about 10 minutes at a time, maybe 3 to 4 times a day during a 12 hour stay. This is their VIP option. So not only is he left in a room for about 12 hours a day, with dogs barking all around him, he's not being stimulated nor played with just being let out to go to the bathroom. Contradicting everything they say that they offer. Their "trainer" is also a joke. He is supposed to be from the Marines and well-versed in the breed of dog that we have. Upon washing him for 5 minutes, as I was told, he said that our dog needed to be neutered before he could be trained because of his energy. Our dog is a Malinois and is not supposed to be neutered before 2 years of age. We've since went elsewhere to get our dog trained from someone who is actually educated on his breed and he's worked on all of his anxiety and reactivity issues that our pup got because of this place.

During that visit, Justine explained the Gold Lifetime program ($1,895) and said she would come to my home about every 2-3 weeks for continued training. Based on that explanation, I decided to purchase the program. However, the first session under the program lasted only about 30 minutes. When I asked about the next visit, Justine said future sessions would be done through FaceTime instead of in-home training. During the initial lesson, I clearly explained that Happy does not pull on the leash. Despite this, Justine brought a metal collar designed to prevent pulling and tried to put it on Happy, which was confusing and disappointing. I also explained that because Happy is a small dog, I wanted to learn proper heel training so he could walk safely beside me. Instead, Justine said it was fine for him to walk behind me. I do not feel this is safe for a small dog, as he could easily pick something up from the ground or encounter larger dogs from behind. As a result, I paid $1,895 but received only one 30-minute in-person session. My request for a partial refund or reassignment to another trainer was denied. I am sharing this experience so that other customers can fully understand the training approach and contract terms before committing. Clarification: The three-hour visit mentioned by the trainer, Justine, refers to the separate $300 initial lesson, which I paid for in advance and which actually lasted about 2.5 hours. The first session under the $1,895 Gold Lifetime program lasted about 30 minutes. Update: The owner responded claiming I "refused to book lessons." Attached are text screenshots proving the opposite. When I requested in-person visits every 2 weeks, the trainer replied: "I don't work that way" and offered only FaceTime instead. I did not refuse -- the trainer refused to provide the service I paid for.

Like any parent and dog owner, we were heartbroken and overwhelmed, not knowing how to move forward safely. After reading so many incredible reviews about Brian across different forums, we decided to reach out--and I'm so grateful we did. Brian helped us understand Hudson (our dog) on a completely different level. He took the time to explain the fears and anxiety driving Hudson's behavior and gave us practical tools to help him feel more secure and confident. Instead of just addressing the behavior itself, Brian helped us see what Hudson was experiencing and how to support him in a way that actually works. Over time, we've seen such meaningful progress. Most importantly, I now feel so much more comfortable and confident with my daughter interacting with Hudson. That peace of mind is something I truly can't put into words. Brian came highly recommended by our trusted vet, and finding him changed everything for our family. When our Miko turned 8 months old last summer, she suddenly began attacking her brother Rufus with no provocation (no food, toys, or attention) and developed territorial behaviors at home. Up until that point, they were best friends, with Rufus patiently playing with her and teaching her dog manners. It was terrifying and heartbreaking, and at our lowest point, we even had to confront the possibility of re-homing Miko after losing our other dog, Luna, suddenly during her spay surgery last year. Since then, my husband and I have been training and exercising them religiously, spending 3-5 hours a day between the two of us, and Brian was there every step of the way. He was endlessly encouraging and validating, especially on the hard days, helping us stay grounded and hopeful when things felt overwhelming. What truly sets Brian apart is how much he genuinely cares and his extensive experience with dog training. He has always been incredibly generous with his time, offering phone consultations during training and even long after sessions ended. You never feel rushed, judged, or dismissed, just fully supported. We're beyond grateful to say that Miko has now reached 6 months with zero aggression, and the two of my dogs play together again both inside and outside of our home. So I understand what it takes to create a smooth and polished coat on a fluffy dog. But sometimes I need someone else to do this job when I get busy or don't feel well. I heard about Seaside from a friend. I live in the area so I called and spoke to Lisa. I guess she's the owner. I mentioned Jinx's nervousness and she told me to come in the next day. She didn't mention that there would be a parade of regulars coming in (about 8 dogs) at that time or that she only accepts cash/checks. I would've come in earlier if I had known so I could've had her undivided attention to go over Jinx's needs. Lisa told me and my husband it would take about 3 hours, so we were surprised when she called us at 2 hours that she was ready. She reported that Jinx handled everything well. And honestly she seemed pretty chill. So that's a plus For her. She doesn't like everyone. At first glance, Jinx looked really cute. She had a cute little neckerchief on. We had to return with a checkbook to pay, as we weren't told about the payment situation. It's displayed on the counter, but it's so uncommon and we were distracted that we missed it. Good communication for first timers is important to establish orientation and trust. Going back home gave us time to evaluate Jinx's groom. I noticed right away there was unevenness on the hair around her face, so I had Lisa correct it. Later, however, after we left, I continued to notice mistakes. Uneven, choppy hair on the top of the head, the sides of the face under the ears, clipper trails marks on the body, and the tail wasn't even touched. While they did a better job on areas like the face and legs than I could ever do, it looked like the job was rushed and not inspected carefully for mistakes. I would normally go back to have things corrected if it was, say, my own hair. But I can't put Jinx through that. She's really a sensitive little dog and doesn't like new situations. So I will correct those things on my own. I'm not sure if I will be going back to Seaside. Maybe for the walk-in nail trim they offer, since they're so close. I really don't like being let down after paying $85 for two 1/2 hours of a basic service, though. I liked you and your cute little store. I just think you're a little overbooked and could do better.
