I usually groom my own 10 pound chi-poo Jinx. She's very fluffy. I'm self taught from years of watching professionals on YouTube. I learned on my first dog, a Bichon Frise. So I understand what it takes to create a smooth and polished coat on a fluffy dog. But sometimes I need someone else to do this job when I get busy or don't feel well. I heard about Seaside from a friend. I live in the area so I called and spoke to Lisa. I guess she's the owner. I mentioned Jinx's nervousness and she told me to come in the next day. She didn't mention that there would be a parade of regulars coming in (about 8 dogs) at that time or that she only accepts cash/checks. I would've come in earlier if I had known so I could've had her undivided attention to go over Jinx's needs. Lisa told me and my husband it would take about 3 hours, so we were surprised when she called us at 2 hours that she was ready. She reported that Jinx handled everything well. And honestly she seemed pretty chill. So that's a plus For her. She doesn't like everyone. At first glance, Jinx looked really cute. She had a cute little neckerchief on. We had to return with a checkbook to pay, as we weren't told about the payment situation. It's displayed on the counter, but it's so uncommon and we were distracted that we missed it. Good communication for first timers is important to establish orientation and trust. Going back home gave us time to evaluate Jinx's groom. I noticed right away there was unevenness on the hair around her face, so I had Lisa correct it. Later, however, after we left, I continued to notice mistakes. Uneven, choppy hair on the top of the head, the sides of the face under the ears, clipper trails marks on the body, and the tail wasn't even touched. While they did a better job on areas like the face and legs than I could ever do, it looked like the job was rushed and not inspected carefully for mistakes. I would normally go back to have things corrected if it was, say, my own hair. But I can't put Jinx through that. She's really a sensitive little dog and doesn't like new situations. So I will correct those things on my own. I'm not sure if I will be going back to Seaside. Maybe for the walk-in nail trim they offer, since they're so close. I really don't like being let down after paying $85 for two 1/2 hours of a basic service, though. While I realize that I am not easy to please And that I'm a perfectionist, I still expect professionals to know their job and perform basic quality control over their service. I would think they'd put their best foot forward for a new potential long term client. You don't get a second chance to make a good first impression. Sorry, Lisa. I liked you and your cute little store. I just think you're a little overbooked and could do better. read more

Our dogs love this place! They're kind and fast. And we will go here again and again.

The best. They are so good and totally fair!! Easy to get to. Easy to park. Friendly. Their work is precise.

Lisa is AWESOME!! It's so hard to find a place you trust to take your babies to and does a great job! Today was my first time coming in and I was so happy with the customer service and final results of my kitty when I picked him up. He was happy and playful. Didn't seemed stressed or anything! And he looked so handsome and fluffy. Will definitely make this my go to grooming spot! Also her prices are GREAT!! read more

This place is amazing. I have a cat who is not easy to groom--she won't let me brush her or trim her nails. Seaside Grooming is able to bathe her and give her an adorable lion cut with ease! I can't recommend this place enough. So grateful to have found them! read more

Best pet salon in Southern California. Really been taking my puppy there for 14 years. Never a sad visit always great.

Lisa and Jamie do a great job with my mini Poodle. He is not great with strangers, but He always is happy to see them.

Excellent!! Lisa groomed my cat and she did amazing! She has so much experience, made my kitty feel safe and comfortable. Thanks Lisa

Love this cute little neighborhood place. My dog always looks great. They are pretty fast and affordable.

They are the best, always so kind and good with the animals. I have always had a pleasant experience.

Love Lisa and her team!!! They really get the work in and do it well! She listens and does what you ask.

Although the service and quality of the job remains solid, the costs has skyrocketed. My 39 lb dog now cost $125 (plus tip) for bath and cut... I can get the same job done at PetSmart for $82. read more

I've always enjoyed DIY projects, so when I attempted to give my standard poodle a summer cut at home for the first time I (naively) thought, "it's just a shave down, how hard can it be?" I was wrong. Halfway through attempting to groom him myself at home, I realized my poodle's DIY haircut looked less like a masterpiece, and more like a kindergarten art project. A huge thank you to Seaside Grooming, especially Lisa, who graciously took me as a walk-in at 8am on a busy Saturday morning-- and skillfully fixed my haphazard attempt at self-grooming my dog. Now, my pup, Mo, looks fresh and clean in his low-maintenance summer haircut, and is ready for fun outdoor adventures of swimming in the ocean and hiking in the mountains. (And I have a newfound appreciation for the talent required to groom dogs!) Thank you so much Seaside Grooming, for the great groom and accommodating team! read more

Love this place! I take my hairless cat there once a month for a bath & nail trim. They are super nice and can tell they love animals!

We love this little "ma & pa" grooming shop in Playa Del Rey. I can only speak to getting our cat's nails trimmed...but every time we go in they are so friendly and helpful. My cat is absolutely TERRIFIED of getting her nails cut but they do it as quickly (about 1-2 mins) as possible. They normally don't even take her back just do it right there in the front. They are very personable and friendly there. Oh! And they usually have little mini candies on the counter to take which I appreciate :) read more

After moving out of the area and having some horrible grooming experiences elsewhere, I felt the need to write a glowing review for our past (and greatest) groomer, Lisa, from Seaside Grooming. You don't know what you've got til it's gone! We've had nothing but great experiences here. Our 10lb Shih Tzu pup comes home very happy and always looks amazing. Lisa simply has a way with animals and it definitely shows. If you're in the area and in search of a groomer, your search stops here! read more

Lisa is amazing! We took our puppy here for her first grooming appointment. Lisa took extra time to make sure she was comfortable with everything. She said she was committed to making sure our puppy would have a lifelong positive experience with grooming. She did a fantastic job! Our puppy didn't want to leave when it was time to pick her up, and the grooming itself was perfect. Her pricing was extremely reasonable as well. read more

Took our pup Otis to Seaside Grooming for the first time yesterday and LOVED it! As a medium/large Goldendoodle, cuts can be quite expensive and quite lengthy. The last place we took him ended up being a 6 hour cut that cost us an arm and a leg. Seaside Grooming did the consultation, paper work, and full groom in under 3 hours, all at a very competitive rate! Thanks so much for the fabulous cut, I think we found our new groomer!! read more

WOW my best Yelp discovery ever!! I would give 10 stars if I could. Found this little gem of a grooming facility right around the corner from my house which is fantastic! Little history first here: Called Marina Vet (my Vet for about a year now) for simple nail clipping. They tell me both my cats must get annual checkup, to which I say fine, but I need those little claws clipped asap. NOPE, they refuse saying I have to get them both examined prior, and the doc is out doing procedures, nothing till next week! Ok so now I gotta spend $150 for exams AND my usual $56 for nail trimming. RIPOFF WHAT?? Cat Practice in MDR wanted rabies shots and exams prior to nail trimming before I went to Marina Vet, another Ripoff artist! So I do my Yelp search, and lo and behold I find Lisa at Seaside Grooming. I call her, and she says sure, bring them in right now. So I'm there in 10 mins, she takes them both right in, even let's me "assist" her in holding my little rascals. She was gentle, highly proficient, and as nurturing as you could ever hope for. And cost...........$6 bucks each...........compared to $28 at the Vet each! I even had her do a brushout which the Vets never bother with. My only regret is not finding Lisa much sooner. She is amazing, and clearly loves these animals! I found my new groomer and HIGHLY recommend Seaside Grooming!! read more

We've been taking our long haired cats to Seaside Grooming for years! I had three Himalayan's who grew old and passed. Then we got two more and that was 13 years ago! We highly recommend Seaside Grooming! I need to add that one of my cats was a real spitfire and combative when being groomed. Lisa was able to handle him and that was not easy! read more

Went to Seaside Grooming for the first time today and it was GREAT! I have heard great things from clients at my work. So I decided to book and appointment for my dog Fred who is a white cocker spaniel. I dropped him off at 10:30 and he was done by 2:30. I'm so happy I found a place that does an AMAZING job and they were so nice and even gave me some advice for my dogs skin allergies. I will never take my dog anywhere else from now on! read more

I have been coming to Seaside grooming for over 10 years. I have had several cats given Lion's cuts from Lisa, the owner. She is just fantastic! I love her temperament with customers as well as with my kitties! She is a gentle, loving groomer. I have a lot of respect for what she does. She is always polite, accommodating and very sweet. I just love the shop and I highly recommend this business in Playa Del Rey. read more

Lisa is an angel sent from heaven above. Most groomers don't handle cats, let alone give them lion cuts, but Lisa does and she's amazing at it! I have a sassy Maine Coon kitty and her fur needs to be shaved every few months and Lisa takes care of her every time! I drop off my cat in the afternoon and she's usually done within 3-5 hours. She always looks great and I have no idea how Lisa does it because my cat does not like being touched by strangers. So grateful for this place! read more

Such a great experience at Seaside Grooming! I usually take my cat to the vet to get her nails trimmed, but Lucy hates it and it's expensive and far. I drove down the street to Seaside Groomiing where they took my cat as a drop in appointment. I've never had a better experience! The staff trimmed her nails in less than one minute and let me hold her as they trimmed. It was quick, easy, and affordable! Love supporting this local biz! I'll be back for sure! read more

These people are DIFFICULT! I made an appointment based on the great reviews. I was told by Lisa to bring a copy of my dog's parvo shots- easy! Day of the appt, brought the dogs and was told our vet records were insufficient. So, I asked if I could fax over all the shots records, which they said was ok, but they wouldn't take my dogs in until the records were in front of them. What an inconvenience?! I don't see why I would have to book another appointment if they allow a faxed copy? This just made me so mad and what a waste of my time! These people are not "dog people." I'd rather pay double at a place where customer service is at the top priority. Next! read more

First time visitor here with my dog. The cut was uneven which was a little disappointing considering it cost $70. I will give them another try but I'm on the fence about making them my new go-to groomer. My dog did return happy though so that's definitely a plus. read more

WOW. Color me thoroughly impressed. I came here because I needed to get my cat's nails trimmed. She's normally a difficult kitty (it takes a few vet techs to hold her down when she gets her nails clipped there) but Lisa's other reviews were amazing so I figured I'd give it a go. I called in advance and Lisa told me I could stop by whenever. She had me hold my cat in the waiting area since there was a yippy dog in the back. I've never seen someone cut my cat's claws so gently yet proficiently. She was only out of her carrier for a minute and barely noticed her paws were being touched. Thank you thank you thank you Lisa! I'll definitely return. read more

Our dog needed grooming badly. Not only did Lisa make time for us, she was kind, patient, and nurtured both our dog and ourselves through the process. Her shop is clean, and she has 30 years of experience working with pets, so she's seen it all. Her shop is clean, and the pictures of clients that she keeps on the wall lets you know just how much she cares. I can't wait to take Lennon back there. If you live in the Playa/Westchester/Marina area, you should bring your pet here, because on top of the outstanding service, her prices are more than reasonable. Kudos, Lisa. read more
