I love this place. My puppy is always groomed so well. The receptionist is so nice and always lets you know to have a blessed day before he hangs up. I love how they take their time with the dogs every dog looks so beautiful and clean. I also love that my puppy gets social time with other dogs and when she comes home she is chill for the rest of the day and not as frisky which I appreciate. I also like that I can walk it takes me about a 5 min walk, I have also used them for puppy daycare when needed and it's a blessing. Love it. read more

Great place to get your dog's nails done. Fast and inexpensive. Or any other grooming needs.

Very inconsistent hours. All door signs and online store hours specifically state that they are open til 4pm but in multiple occasions they close around 2pm for no reason, some days entirely not open at all with any signage posted. This takes time out of my work day to visit and when calls dont get picked up i only can rely on their hours posted on their website. They always allowed for walk in nail trims at any point in the day, not they claim its only from 8am to 12pm. This was never a policy. read more

Made my cute adorable puppy so ugly. She looks awful. Botched all over. Did not follow any of my instructions. Thank goodness the hair will grow back. I am not happy. And they charged me over $100! Also they never asked for her vaccinations. This should have been a big red flag. I do not recommend. This was her first cut and I can't believe what they did to her. Posting before and after pics so you can see how horrific their work is. Ugggh! read more

Groomed my very mated Havenese. Made him look adorable and smelled great. Thanks Jenny Cosmos says thanks

They clipped a mole and it was bleeding. Thought it could happen to anyone. One week later it is still bleeding. ( but better) the worse part about it is that the personell did not even acknowledge or take any responsibility! No stars! read more

I would give Lucky's a trillion stars if I could. My dog is 16 years old and I have been to at least 5 groomers before I found Lucky's. Not only did Jenny give my dog the best haircut ever, but my dog loves her and it made it less stressful for me to leave such an old dog. Also, my dog gets stopped daily and gets compliments, everyone thinks she is a puppy because of the puppy cut Jenny gives her. It's like winning the lottery to find a great groomer who also is caring, gentle, and has a great heart. I feel so grateful to Jenny for all she does to make my dog more beautiful and comfortable. BEST groomer ever!! read more

My favorite groomer in Santa Monica (maybe most of L.A.)... but I haven't tried them all. My dog Maitri, in their featured photo didn't mind coning here as she did a lot of groomers. Dogs get to run around free in fenced-in area at the front of the shop, rather than being caged (unless aggressive). They get to play and frolic with one another. The grommets here have always done a fabulous job with Maitri, and don't price-gauge. Great atmosphere and friendly service. Highly recommend. read more

It's definitely cheaper and very quick however Botched haircut. You get what you pay for..

this place was terrible. my poor dog has areas where it looks like the razor slipped. Uneven and splotchy. they were over an hour late on finishing. Would not recommend at all. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! This might be the worst service I have ever experienced for a place that I had high hopes for. I had walked by the storefront one morning and decided to peek inside. I spoke to the congenial front desk person who gave me a rundown of their services and said that they have a First-Time Customer reduced rate. I called to schedule an appointment for noon. The morning of, I got a call the day of to tell us that they need to move our appointment earlier because the store was closing early that day. We were accommodating and agreed to come earlier. We gave our instructions for how we wanted our miniature poodle's cut to look - A teddy bear cut. Pretty standard for the breed and all groomers should know it. After dropping him off and they started to work on him, they discovered some matting. The front desk person called to ask if they should de-mat under his ears for an additional fee. We said "yes" to the $30 upcharge. I asked for the total with all of the services. This is when I was informed that there was no "first-time customer" discount. They clearly knew who had given out this information, but now are declining to honor it. The best they could offer was $5 off after several phone calls between the "owner who's on vacation" and the store and me. Frustrated by this bait and switch, we accepted the minimum discount. BUT THEN, they brought out our dog. Nothing, I mean NOTHING was completed as instructed or agreed upon. Instead of de-mating under the ears, they shaved it off. The teddy bear cut was absolutely nothing like instructed. An embarrassment. The body was shaved so close as he made no effort to brush him out. The back of his neck was completely crooked (see below). His tail wasn't brushed or sculpted. It was just bluntly chopped at the end like a person who tried to cut their own bangs. HORRIFIC! And to top it off, the groomer (apparently named Tucker) who butchered our dog had already left (mere minutes after he finished as my wife was there immediately after they called). He clearly fled the scene of the crime! No opportunity for touchups or critiques or customer service. Just destroy our dog's look for weeks and take off. CLEARLY, the staff wanted to end the day early which is the reason they moved the appointment forward and rushed through the job. Please note: We dropped our dog off at 9:30 AM and the original appointment was at noon. REGULAR BUSINESS HOURS on a Thursday. After a back and forth with the remaining staff member about the quality of grooming, the staff member kept claiming the owner was on vacation and couldn't be reached, even though earlier she had said the owner was at the store. Everything about this was atrocious. From the rushed hackjob to the misinformation (intentionally misled) to the overall customer service. I would never recommend this company to anyone! Also, my dog too has been scooting a ton since he got home. He rarely does this. read more

Did a great job with our cavachon nephew's grooming. I love that they hang out cage free out front - they're not hiding anything. They were able to squeeze us in during the busy holiday season. Great service and prices are comparable to the area. read more

The initial charge was $90 for everything- $10 for special shampoo ... fine for my 7 lb dog which needed a grooming with the works. When picking up the works was an additional $24 ( not what I was told) and they charged $30 on top of that for the doggy day care. Gouging not appreciated!!!!! I told them I'd be an extra hour , after the one hour grace period for pick up. Not going back.... read more

So far, so good. I've only been to this place once, but the staff was incredibly accommodating, my dog seemed very happy there, and I believe this is my new place. Camille is super helpful and made my pup Xiao Xiao's experience there pretty seamless! The groomer came out in the middle of a puppy client to make sure she understood what I needed and communicated with me. Pricing is really good and the play area helps them to get extra energy out after the bath/cut! Definitely going back again! Thank you! Parking isn't the best but if you time it right you can find metered parking right in front of the building. read more

We took our 7 month old goldendoodle in once and the cut came out well. We tried going again today (now 10 months) and they told us our appointment was not in the system. I looked back in my call logs to confirm that I had the right location and number and it was correct. The lady I spoke with apologized, but said they could not accommodate our dog for grooming, so we would have to reschedule for next week. When I asked if they could offer a discount, or something to make up for us taking time off of work to make this happen, she said no. The dogs all wait in a waiting area despite set appointment times. Many were barking and intimidating to our dog who is extremely sociable and easy going. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I think customer service should be a priority and this didn't feel like the case at Lucky's for us. read more

MY REVIEW TWO WEEKS AFTER MY PUP'S VISITATION. I was so angry with this grooming salon. They shaved my dog even if I told them not to cos we will bring him to a snowy state, IT IS WINTER SEASON and he'll be needing a lot of fur on him! I know my pup is a bit matted (but can still be combed) that's why I asked for their help to untangle some parts. They told me they will check his situation and will call me FIRST before they do anything with him! YES THEY DID CALL ME BUT IT SEEMS LIKE THE RECEPTIONIST KNEW MY DOG WAS SHAVED AF ALREADY. AND HE KEPT SAYING THAT THE LADY GROOMER (JENNY?) WILL TRIM SOME OF THE HAIR ONLY. I KEPT ASKING FOR ASSURANCE THAT THEY WILL NOT SHAVE HIM. But guess what? When we came to pick him up, HE WAS TOTALLY SHAVED. What makes it worse is that the shaving was not even! I was so devastated! Now, he is always freaking cold and shivering that I have to put two jackets/sweaters on him. You guys should have known that it is winter and would not recommend to shave them especially if it is not even needed. You did not even feel sorry for us nor my dog! Instead you blamed us that I don't comb/brush my dog before i give him a bath. (Which is not even true) We are so nice that we paid in full and even gave a tip even if it was not worth it. You guys are not even our regular groomer, and just went to you because our regular groomer was closed that day. So I think this is a lesson learned for me to not trust you ever again and just stick to Sparky's grooming salon. read more

We moved to Santa Monica from West Hollywood last year where we had a good dog groomer, and I think Lucky's was the first place we tried when we moved because it was the closest to our house and had good reviews. I guess we got *lucky* because I truly think they are GREAT. Actually even better than the place we used to goto. My dog's haircuts always look perfect and are exactly what I ask for! They're also pretty fast! Thank you. read more

Love this place! They are always so sweet with my golden doodle and try and keep her hair long if possible. Some groomers will simply shave your dog and not let you know before hand, but not here. There is a little play area with a fake fire hydrant where your dog can wait for you and play with other dogs which is cute. read more

I am a first time dog mom and I needed to get my (5 month old) Yorkipoo puppy groomed. I had no idea where to go or what to expect so I turned to Yelp. I reached out to Luckys and they were really helpful and answered all of my questions. I felt comfortable leaving my puppy in their hands. The staff here was so kind to us and our puppy. When we came to pick her up, she looked perfect! They did exactly what we wanted and our dog was happy. We thought she would be scared since she's not used to being around other dogs and I wasn't sure how she would react to getting groomed. It was a pleasant experience and I definitely plan on bringing my puppy here for all of her grooming needs. read more

Just dropped my Shiba Inu, Hachi, off for a second time for grooming. I am so happy to have found Lucky's. Hachi is a typical Shiba--highly dramatic before anyone even touches him or approaches with nail clippers. We went to Healthy Spot for two and a half years and I was disappointed with the results after the last 2 visits. I believe they use cages as waiting areas for the dogs. Hachi does not like that one bit, so we appreciate the cage-free experience. It is so darn cute to see all the pups in the window, and I'm sure they all love being able to roam and look at passerby. Thank you, Jenny, for consistently good service! read more

So pleased with Lucky's in every category. Great experience from start to finish. Super friendly and personable staff. My dogs were very comfortable and even happy when I left them even though they have never been here before. They got to mingle with the other dogs which they liked. The dogs aren't kept in cages here (unless they are naughty- then they just go into a separate little section.) The groomer/owner came out and we talked about how the cut/style should be. I told her do whatever! My dogs are scruffy terriers. When I came to pick them up they looked AWESOME! She did such a good job. She listened to the few things I did request for their styles. And it is very affordable. This is our new spot for sure! Wish I took a before/after to show just how good of a job she did. read more

I've been taking Scarlett here to get groomed for a few months now. It's super easy to get an appointment, every time I've called they've been able to take her that day or the following one. I have a rescue poodle-terrier mix who must have had some trauma associated with groomers. As my daughter says, "Why get a therapy dog when you can have a dog that needs therapy?" Lucky's was great with our little yorkie! Our dog is probably the type of dog that groomers have nightmares about - stubborn, doesn't get along with other dogs, marks his territory a lot, barks, doesn't sit still. Yet somehow they were able to give me a nice cut, much better than the cheap place we had been using before. The area is clean, open, and looks like the dogs enjoy playing around there. The people working at the check in desk were also very kind. We tried calling to schedule another appointment, but they never called us back from our voicemail. Maybe we're blacklisted haha.
