I absolutely hate to write this review because I am afraid you'll make him your dentist and he'll be harder to get in to, but I feel morally obligated. Honestly the best dental practice. Hands down. McMahon is wildly talented, and isn't afraid to explain anything he's doing. I tend to have a lot of questions because - hey - last time I checked I'm not going to grow another set of teeth. I have been with him through many years and a couple cavities / one crown and the work has consistently been top notch and problem free. read more

Such an incredibly great dentist. I've been going here for years, not because I'm scared to go somewhere else, but because the staff are very nice and extremely knowledgeable. They are a solid group of professionals that are also gentle! The practice is clean and comfortable and I always get good information and understanding of the condition of my teeth and health when I go. Thank you so much! read more

Maybe I'm biased because I used to work here, but Dr. McMahon is the absolute best dentist in San Diego. He is very ethical and also conservative when it comes to his dental work - meaning he won't do a crown or filling if he doesn't have to. His fillings are absolutely perfect, and he will make sure that your tooth looks and feels the same, if not better than before. read more

I am 45 and have had a well established and founded fear of dentists. I didn't go for years and when I tried again in my 30s I was hit with *3 more* dentists that confirmed my dread. When a tooth chipped recently, I was forced to go. On my sister's urging, I went to Dr. McMahon. He and his staff have COMPLETELY cured me of my fear. I no longer start to shake when i walk in! I'm so thankful! read more

My brother in law recommended dr. McMahon to me, and as far as I'm concerned I won't ever see another dentist ever as long as dr. McMahon is around. The girls in there are friendly and professional. And dr.. McMahon is very gentle and willing to work with me. Since this stupid covid has happened I am on a very limited budget, and my tooth was not in that budget . Dr. McMahon has given me alot of options to work with and I didn't get the hard sell that the big name dentist do. I would and will recommend Dr. Macmahon to anyone!! read more

My whole family has been going to Michael McMahon and Kristy for years. They are very friendly and knowledgeable. Kristy is friendly and makes getting a cleaning quick and easy. Michael McMahon really knows what he's doing and he will take good care of you. I remember that I used to have a gap in my front teeth for the longest time and when I switched from my other dentist to McMahon after a cleaning he said, "Do you want me to close that gap?" I thought he was kidding but 20 minutes later the gap was closed. Just goes to show you that he is willing to go above and beyond and the level of confidence and expertise they have. Highly recommended. read more

While it's a reach for me to give 5 stars for something involving having to hold your mouth open for what seems like forever and having a drill rattling in your mouth, Dr. Michael McMahon is as good as it gets. He's smart, very skillful, and attentive to his patients. Kristie has been cleaning my teeth for years and she, too, is first rate. Gentle, kind, and very good at what she does. This is a great place for people like me who dread going to the dentist. They will take good care of you. read more

these guys are it. cleaning and treatment. i love the approach of Dr MacMahon: "we'll do what we have to do, not anything more" -its not a real quote, but that's the idea. always on time, i love the staff. the place is kind of lost at the beginning of Rosecrans but totally worth to go there. no 'deep cleaning', unnecessary crowns ... no crap, just what you need by a very competent Dr. i can't give 5 stars because: who likes to go to the dentist?!?!? read more

Came in for an emergency visit while on a business trip In SD as a filling came out and I was having a lot of pain. They got me in same day I called and took care of the problem. He seems really nice and thorough. If I lived here I would keep coming back! read more

My three daughters and I have been seeing Dr. Mc Mahon and Kristy for five years now, and we are so grateful for them! They have fixed our problems beautifully and taught us a lot about how to care for our teeth. They are great with kids, down to earth, funny, and always dependable. Everyone at this office genuinely cares, and we are so happy we finally found a dentist we can trust! read more

Dr. McMahon is the best! His staff is always nothing but professional and incredibly helpful. Dr. McMahon himself only does procedures that need to be done and takes into consideration the cost to the patient every time. Recently I had my teeth cleaned at his office and the hygienist did a beautiful job. I've also had fillings done at the office and he stands by his work. I've never had an issue with any work completed here and always feel like I am getting my money's worth. You can tell that he cares about the patient and their well being. I would recommend Dr. McMahon and his wonderful staff to anyone looking for quality dental care! read more

Dr. McMahon has been my dentist going on 20 years. He is a gifted dentist. I left him once due to wanting a lower out of pocket but came back ... you get what you pay for. I trust him, he's a perfectionist, his staff is kind, and my hygienist, Emma, is outstanding. read more

Dr. McMahon is the greatest! Wonderful personality and super caring person. I would definitely recommend him to all of my friends and family. My husband and I have been going to Dr. McMahon for awhile now. We absolutely love his hygienist and have both had work done on our teeth by the dentist. We have only positive things to say about the care we've received there. I'm afraid of dentists and Dr. McMahon put me right at ease. He's very gentle and does an exceptional job. Go see him! read more

Great dentist. Really knows his stuff! Meticulous and caring. And he is a really nice person.

My wife and I started going here when we moved to the area from a referral. The Dr. knows what he is doing. He adjusted my bite 3 times, very maticulous yet does not over diagnose. I had a gap, food trap, between my back upper molars which other dentists said nothing could be done. So annoying to always have something caught. He asjusted my bite so that the gap closed on its own. Amazing I tell you. My wife is also scared of the dentist and had nothing but positive things to say. read more

I have been going to dentists for years and much of the dental work that was completed left me with a very uncomfortable, uneven bite. A friend at my garden club suggested that I see Dr. McMahon, D.D.S. He examined my bite, made a mold of my teeth and over the course of many months patiently spent a lot of time adjusting my bite to fit better. He also discovered two old root canals that were not causing me any pain but were destroying the bones in my jaw. He then referred me to a oral surgeon. He takes time to explains everything and is very through. His staff all work together as a team and makes one feel comfortable. I would highly recommend him and his wonderful staff. read more

I can't say enough great things about this office and I wouldn't trust my dentistry to anyone else! I've been seeing Dr. McMahon and Kristy since I moved to California in 2007 and while nobody really loves getting work done on their teeth, these guys truly know what their doing. To date every procedure and cleaning has been seamless and Dr. McMahon does a great job of preparing you for what to expect afterward that would be normal and what to look out for as signs that something needs to be adjusted, corrected etc. My husband was originally seeing a different dentist when we moved here and after having a bad experience with their front desk I finally convinced him to give this office a try and I quote "he only wishes he had taken my word for it sooner...because Dr. McMahon rocks!". :) read more

My being a new patient, the receptionist confirmed that they accept my insurance upon making the appointment. Now, my copay is normally $25. Yet, at the end of the consultation, I was charged then $80. with the statement they were sorry to have mislead me by not explaining that they are not actually on the list. Not happy! read more
