For the past 15 years, I have driven past Miceli's and never been. But I had the opportunity to go and it did NOT disappoint. This is such a classic, old school Italian restaurant. It is pretty cool because all the servers are singers and you will get to enjoy a show. A live piano player and live music. This was a good time. The staff are super kind. We ordered calamari. They were regular. Nothing to brag about. And I ordered the lasagna which was very divine. It was cheesy. Plentiful. Perfectly seasoned. The food is TOO GOOD. We were nearby in NoHo for a play and decided upon Italian for dinner via the AAdvantage program and this place was in their network. I did not see a designated parking lot (just street) but there was plenty of street parking available with no meters on Sunday. The dining experience is cool as it has that old world charm to it with the checkered table cloths in classic Italian style. As for the food, it was just mediocre. We started off with the antipasto salad and that is a total waste of money for what you get (16.95). It was on the smaller side and was not a traditional antipasto salad. It had the salami and cheese on the bottom of the plate (in whole slices) along with some regular lettuce on top with two green onions and some green olives on the side and some red onions (at 1st I thought that our server brought us the wrong salad). As for our entrees, I ordered the spinach lasagna and it was ok. The portion size was small but since lasagna is generally heavy I was able to finish it. BFF ordered the baked mostaccioli with Italian sausage added to it and his was a bigger portion. We had two soft drinks and some water with our meal and the total came to 110.00 incl tip. Ouch! Our server was friendly but not overly and the service was good. I really wanted to like this establishment but the food did not impress me at all. I love this old-school restaurant. The waiters take turns performing and they're all so talented. The service is also excellent. Attentive & thoughtful. The portions are huge. I often share with my coworkers when we come. My favorite is their dessert. They have a cappuccino ice cream. It's incredible. The parking can be tricky. It's primarily street. The inside could use a bit of an update because it's so old school. It's a little dark inside for my eyes and the decoration is starting to get to the gross point of aged. read more

Another awesome meal at Miceli's last Saturday. We made reservations easily online for and arrived at 4:30pm ahead of the final night of Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Night. Our friends and I were able to nab the last parking spaces in their small lot out front. As usual, we were greeted warmly at the door by the owner, Joe. Such a nice fellow and accommodated our request to sit at the booth nearest the bar's TV so we could watch the final Dodgers World Series game. WAY TO GO, DODGERS!! Service is always friendly and fantastic and some of the servers sang beautifully throughout our dinner. We love Miceli's! You don't get this anywhere else in town that I know of! The kids remembered and craved Miceli's rolls from last year's outing to HHN and they're simply delicious and come out nice and warm. Paired with butter, they are truly a guilty pleasure. My family all ordered the 1/2 and 1/2 meat and cheese ravioli ($22.49) with pink sauce or marinara and they were fantastic. I tried both and I think if I had to choose, I'd get the meat ravioli; the flavor was delicious and it had a nice little bite to it (slight spice). Both sauces were fantastic; the tomato marinara was bright and fresh. I also tried our friend's Spaghetti Siciliana ($24.95) with a meatball (2 meatballs are an amazingly reasonable $4.25) and both were delicious. Apparently this dish is Joe's favorite and for good reason. Ambience as afore-mentioned with the singing waiters and amazing old school vibe and decor is exceptional. There are not many places in L.A. that have been around since 1949 and there is a reason this place has stood the test of time. Prices and portions are very fair considering the quality, service, ambience and especially the entertainment. There were, very sadly, recent reports of their closing. PLEASE DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN! Miceli's (both locations), are part of my GOAT series of reviews. While I haven't been for years, it is as classic as could be and offers everything worthwhile: romantic, delicious, and all the classic Italian dishes -- nothing nouveau about it with it's old style red booths, wood carvings, and wine bottles hanging. The staff takes turns occasionally singing, too. Very cool. This location is conveniently located off the 101, and is perfect for before/after Universal Studios, a concert at it, evening at The Greek or The Baked Potato for a little jazz. My favorite dishes: loved the pizzas, chicken parm, and chicken marsala, for sure, but I often ordered a vegetarian dish made with tons of red onion and mushrooms in a thick tomato sauce (I think it's Spaghetti Siciliano, but not 100% certain). read more

Loved the overwrought, hackneyed, trite, pan Italian décor at Micelli on Cahuenga Boulevard. It's the idealized American vision of what an old school Italian restaurant should be. In some ways, it reminded me of the Tam O'Shanter or the late, great Le Petit Chateau in North Hollywood where reality is suspended if only for an evening. Food as expected was just ok. I feel that you come to Miceli to experience the charm of the overlaid layers of kitsch and rococo-like complexity of the décor with hanging woven basket Chianti bottles everywhere. Even more impressive were the singers and singing waiters who would belt out operatic arias, melodies from plays, shows, songs from the American Song book, even a Mexican ranchero all on a Saturday evening. 0) Bread here are golden browned huge rounded rolls warmed from the oven with a slightly leathery exterior. They seem 3/4 baked so the interior is still plush, moist, yeasty almost velvety. Slather butter as well as shaking on some dry Parmesan, and you can almost have a full meal. 1) Calamari Fritti was a good version of small, meaty squid bodies & more fibrous tentacles all covered in fine herbed bread crumbs for a crisper finish. Comes with a slightly tangy, piquant Salsa Marinara. 2 Lasagna comes out like Vesuvius, bubbling, angry red, hot. Mozzarella on top is molten. The flat, thick pasta sheet is interspersed with Ricotta and Romano cheeses and a beefy, tomato Salsa Bolognese. Aunt Angie knew how to make a good lasagna. This may be the best dish in the house. 1-2a) Chianti Sangiovese Villa Antinori IGT Toscana, Italia 2012: Mellow red with light bitter tannins to counter the smooth sweetness. Good acidity for cleansing the palate as well as serving as a gastrique to some of the accompanied foods. Dark berries like blackberry, blueberry, touch cherry. 3) Miceli's proprietary Tiramisù is modified. The top is covered in what seems to be eggy, velvety Crème Anglaise like Mascarpone Mousse with two Savoiardi lady finger biscuits sticking out, scattering of powdered milk chocolate. Hidden under the mousse is the standard soft mixture of Savoiardi soaked in Espresso, Coffee liqueur, whipped Mascarpone cheese. Pleasant variation to this classic Italian Dolce. Just want to point out the charming, thoughtful receptionist (Friday, June 6th 2025) who adds extra warmth & hospitality. Bravo!!! You are an invaluable asset to Miceli. Food here may be closer to 3+ stars, but the entertaining singers and the receptionist nudge out one more star for a 4 star review. I have just left Miceli's with a full belly and a very happy soul that I knew I immediately needed to write a review. Driving by this restaurant so many times on my route to the gym, Miceli's always caught my eye by the decor and I knew I wanted to try it at some point. Today my family finally had the opportunity and I am beyond blown away by my experience. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by our hostess and more staff at the front bar as we walked to our table. Everyone was already so welcoming and nice! Let's also not forget about the ambiance and decor that I'd describe as a cute old fashioned Italian restaurant that transports you to a new place. I instantly fell in love. We ordered a medium sized meat house pizza which was shared among the 3 of us and was actually just enough with one slice left over. The pizza has a thinner crust which is always my personal preference, was extremely cheesy and the meats were all delicious! My mom also decided to order a meat ravioli which was her main dish but we all took a taste and it was also very good! There was a lot of sauce but it tasted perfect and wasn't sweet like most sauces tend to be which I also enjoyed. For dessert we all ordered a cannoli was incredible and authentic, you can't go wrong. Being our first time here, we were all caught off guard but pleasantly surprised when one of the waiters started singing O Sole Mio (one of my absolute favorite Italian songs). It was so much fun! I did notice that as the restaurant started getting busier (we did get here earlier for dinner around 6 pm), more waiters would sing and the frequency of the songs started picking up by 7 pm. A huge shoutout to Bryan and Alana for their incredible voices as well as serving us and being amazing all around. I cannot believe I am only discovering Miceli's now but I am so beyond excited to come back. We came here because it was our twin daughter's birthday and we were told that was the Best place to eat at and have fun while you are eating the most authentic Italian food! It has all the charm of Italy and you forget you're in America because you feel like you are in the real Italy. They let you experience a piece of the Italian Culture. The Italian people are the most beautiful, inspiring and authentic people in the world. The restaurant was packed and it was very diverse and people of all ages enjoying themselves. There were older people smiling at each other while they ate, children dancing to the music while lovers singing along with the singing waitresses or waiters. It's utopia in the heart of Los Angeles. The floors were clean and so were the tables. The food was 10 stars. I tried to figure out all the ingredients but couldn't. This is the best place to eat and enjoy yourself in Ca. Be prepared because the piano playing its drums and singing waiters means it's loud. It's a party there but it adds to the ambience of the place. All the waitresses and waiters were wonderful. I had one of best times of my life. If you come here I guarantee you'll make this place your regular place to eat. There was only one downside to this night. Their bathrooms desperately need an upgrade. The toilets are slow, toilet paper all over and the doors were bad. So I guess you get some bitter with the sweet. And every restaurant I've ever been to have always had the policy of a free ice cream while they sing happy birthday to you. Well we had to pay $8.95 for the girls to eat 1 scoop of ice cream. I thought a little tacky with their prices. But over all it was fun and I am glad we went! We celebrated my daughter's 6th bday at Miceli's on Cahuenga. It was a great experience for us. I was apprehensive about coming on a Monday, but the entertainment was top notch. The servers were talented singers and the piano man kept the whole restaurant rockin'. My wife said this was THE BEST shrimp scampi she ever had. The pizza was also delicious. Great location! They offer valet parking, but if you're there in the afternoon, there's also lots of street parking (but it's only one hour parking). Extremely spacious location. Plenty of seating to go around I would say the only downside is it's a bit too dark for me. Our waitress was very kind and very willing to give her opinion on dishes. Which is always a huge plus for me. We were there to celebrate a coworker's birthday. And this is where she chose to go, I'll be honest I wasn't quite sure at first about all the singing. I had to add this since I thought I had left a positive review over 5 years ago when all restaurants had just opened to patio only from Covid nightmare. I went, remembering all the decades ago that my family and all of us would go to Micelis and even knew some of the wait staff/singers, many of them were in theater with me 50 years ago. Anyway, came here after going to the Hollywood location a few months prior to the Covid shut down. The Hollywood location was such a sad experience. Before Covid, the server was just terrible! She brought me all the wrong orders but never smiled or acknowledged me ONCE.. as if I was putting her out. Never returned after bringing me all the wrong orders. So, I chalked it up to just a very rude and entitled server who can't get her orders straight then abandons me the entire time. I had to flag down the manager to get it all straightened out. So coming to the Studio City location, after Covid shut downs and getting a server named Bryan (with a Y) and out on the patio they made from the parking lot, He more than made up for my Hollywood location experience! Not only that, he stood far away from us to sing so that he wouldn't spread a virus! He sounded Wonderful and Joe was so happy to see customers coming in after that shut down time frame. The linguini and clams were perfectly cooked with the linguini having the right amount of buoyancy with each bite. Flavors were what I remembered all through the decades. My uncle loved coming here when he came to visit, we made it a party every time with our once large family, many have passed away since. This place has character! I came here on a Saturday night with a reservation at 8pm. Right when you step in you get a taste of Italy with the live music, dim lighting, and decor. It was pretty busy at 8pm so we got a drink at the bar which is conveniently placed near the entrance. They had multiple Italian beers that I had never tried. I got the amber and it was great. It took a while to get seated, almost 45 minutes but having the bar and the live music helped pass the time. The service was a little slow but when you realize the servers go up to sing, you're not here for a fast meal, you're here for an experience. The server was very helpful with the menu and recommendations. We got a bottle of wine that was reasonably priced and calamari to start. I wasn't a fan of the calamari. For the entrees we got the Spaghetti Siciliano, recommended by the host, and the creamy pesto fettuccini. They were both really good. The spaghetti was simple yet it had so much flavor. I highly recommend the spaghetti siciliano! Overall it was a fun and unique experience and I will definitely be back. I would recommend a reservation earlier than 8:00 since the peak of the live music seemed to be around that time or a little before. read more

For a person who doesn't really care for tomato based sauces, I surprised myself because I went to town on my spaghetti ravioli. The Pasta is cooked perfectly al dente. Meatballs were huuuge and full of flavor. Bruschetta was garlicky and toasty. My friend ordered the pizzas and they were so good.
