    Interior of Miceli's

Food was just not good plain and simple. On top of that, there was a large group of about 10 year old kids who were running around the restaurant like it was a race car track, and management did absolutely nothing despite how incredibly loud they were. PErhaps the kids were related to management. It was just obnoxious.

Antonio was great!! He was doing everything, host, bartender, server. Ordered a Hemingway Daiquiri and it was so refreshing on a hot day. Food came out steaming hot. We got the Bruschetta as an appetizer. Husband got Angie's Lasagna and got a new frosted glass when he ordered his beer. He ordered 3 beers and got a new frosted glass every time. I got the fettuccine and a side order meatball. We loved the decor and music which was rat pack.

Another awesome meal at Miceli's last Saturday. We made reservations easily online for and arrived at 4:30pm ahead of the final night of Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Night. Our friends and I were able to nab the last parking spaces in their small lot out front. As usual, we were greeted warmly at the door by the owner, Joe. Such a nice fellow and accommodated our request to sit at the booth nearest the bar's TV so we could watch the final Dodgers World Series game. WAY TO GO, DODGERS!! Service is always friendly and fantastic and some of the servers sang beautifully throughout our dinner. We love Miceli's! You don't get this anywhere else in town that I know of! The kids remembered and craved Miceli's rolls from last year's outing to HHN and they're simply delicious and come out nice and warm. Paired with butter, they are truly a guilty pleasure. My family all ordered the 1/2 and 1/2 meat and cheese ravioli ($22.49) with pink sauce or marinara and they were fantastic. I tried both and I think if I had to choose, I'd get the meat ravioli; the flavor was delicious and it had a nice little bite to it (slight spice). Both sauces were fantastic; the tomato marinara was bright and fresh. I also tried our friend's Spaghetti Siciliana ($24.95) with a meatball (2 meatballs are an amazingly reasonable $4.25) and both were delicious. Apparently this dish is Joe's favorite and for good reason. Ambience as afore-mentioned with the singing waiters and amazing old school vibe and decor is exceptional. There are not many places in L.A. that have been around since 1949 and there is a reason this place has stood the test of time. Prices and portions are very fair considering the quality, service, ambience and especially the entertainment. There were, very sadly, recent reports of their closing. PLEASE DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN! If we lived close by, we would definitely visit more...and the bar is awesome, too! HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Archway of old school Chianti bottles looking into the large dining room at Miceli Cahuenga Blvd
    Gary I.

Loved the overwrought, hackneyed, trite, pan Italian décor at Micelli on Cahuenga Boulevard. It's the idealized American vision of what an old school Italian restaurant should be. In some ways, it reminded me of the Tam O'Shanter or the late, great Le Petit Chateau in North Hollywood where reality is suspended if only for an evening. Food as expected was just ok. I feel that you come to Miceli to experience the charm of the overlaid layers of kitsch and rococo-like complexity of the décor with hanging woven basket Chianti bottles everywhere. Even more impressive were the singers and singing waiters who would belt out operatic arias, melodies from plays, shows, songs from the American Song book, even a Mexican ranchero all on a Saturday evening. 0) Bread here are golden browned huge rounded rolls warmed from the oven with a slightly leathery exterior. They seem 3/4 baked so the interior is still plush, moist, yeasty almost velvety. Slather butter as well as shaking on some dry Parmesan, and you can almost have a full meal. 1) Calamari Fritti was a good version of small, meaty squid bodies & more fibrous tentacles all covered in fine herbed bread crumbs for a crisper finish. Comes with a slightly tangy, piquant Salsa Marinara. 2 Lasagna comes out like Vesuvius, bubbling, angry red, hot. Mozzarella on top is molten. The flat, thick pasta sheet is interspersed with Ricotta and Romano cheeses and a beefy, tomato Salsa Bolognese. Aunt Angie knew how to make a good lasagna. This may be the best dish in the house. 1-2a) Chianti Sangiovese Villa Antinori IGT Toscana, Italia 2012: Mellow red with light bitter tannins to counter the smooth sweetness. Good acidity for cleansing the palate as well as serving as a gastrique to some of the accompanied foods. Dark berries like blackberry, blueberry, touch cherry. 3) Miceli's proprietary Tiramisù is modified. The top is covered in what seems to be eggy, velvety Crème Anglaise like Mascarpone Mousse with two Savoiardi lady finger biscuits sticking out, scattering of powdered milk chocolate. Hidden under the mousse is the standard soft mixture of Savoiardi soaked in Espresso, Coffee liqueur, whipped Mascarpone cheese. Pleasant variation to this classic Italian Dolce. Just want to point out the charming, thoughtful receptionist (Friday, June 6th 2025) who adds extra warmth & hospitality. Bravo!!! You are an invaluable asset to Miceli. Food here may be closer to 3+ stars, but the entertaining singers and the receptionist nudge out one more star for a 4 star review. PS Don't take away plates even though it's almost fully eaten without asking. I was planning to save the sauce for the next coming course.

I have just left Miceli's with a full belly and a very happy soul that I knew I immediately needed to write a review. Driving by this restaurant so many times on my route to the gym, Miceli's always caught my eye by the decor and I knew I wanted to try it at some point. Today my family finally had the opportunity and I am beyond blown away by my experience. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by our hostess and more staff at the front bar as we walked to our table. Everyone was already so welcoming and nice! Let's also not forget about the ambiance and decor that I'd describe as a cute old fashioned Italian restaurant that transports you to a new place. I instantly fell in love. We ordered a medium sized meat house pizza which was shared among the 3 of us and was actually just enough with one slice left over. The pizza has a thinner crust which is always my personal preference, was extremely cheesy and the meats were all delicious! My mom also decided to order a meat ravioli which was her main dish but we all took a taste and it was also very good! There was a lot of sauce but it tasted perfect and wasn't sweet like most sauces tend to be which I also enjoyed. For dessert we all ordered a cannoli was incredible and authentic, you can't go wrong. Being our first time here, we were all caught off guard but pleasantly surprised when one of the waiters started singing O Sole Mio (one of my absolute favorite Italian songs). It was so much fun! I did notice that as the restaurant started getting busier (we did get here earlier for dinner around 6 pm), more waiters would sing and the frequency of the songs started picking up by 7 pm. A huge shoutout to Bryan and Alana for their incredible voices as well as serving us and being amazing all around. I cannot believe I am only discovering Miceli's now but I am so beyond excited to come back. Between the ambiance, great food, and table side entertainment... it is truly a full experience when you visit!

Micellis is one of the most authentic Italian places left in La. It really transports you, they have a a very lively ambiance, live singers, amazing food. Our server Tiffany, was awesome and attentive, she was funny & friendly & had good recommendations, she gave us a brief history rundown of the restaurant which was really fun to learn. Food was 10/10 that we even took a pizza home! Will be back s

Came along with family as they were having drinks at the bar and since I don't drink, I was offered a virgin mojito by my cousin, the bartender, Mario was kind and honest enough to tell us that the mint was currently not fresh, so made me a mango smoothie instead and was very good, it was the thought I appreciated the most. The bar area is comfortable and clean, very sociable ambiance.

I've been coming here for years, but I had not been in for a very long time until I decided to grab lunch today. Always love the warm inviting atmosphere with Italian music over the speakers and all the fabulous comfortable booths & decor. I love on dinner service how they have their servers singing and they're all very talented singers! I started with a nice glass of petite Syrah and then ordered the chicken picante. Chicken was very tender, and the dish was very flavorful. Abundant portion as well. Service was excellent. Speedy and friendly. My only complaint is the prices have gone up exponentially. But I still highly recommend this establishment.

We celebrated my daughter's 6th bday at Miceli's on Cahuenga. It was a great experience for us. I was apprehensive about coming on a Monday, but the entertainment was top notch. The servers were talented singers and the piano man kept the whole restaurant rockin'. My wife said this was THE BEST shrimp scampi she ever had. The pizza was also delicious. We'll be coming to Miceli's more often now. The ambiance was so cozy and fun and it's just a hop and a skip from Studio City.

Service: 5/5 I forgot our servers name but he was so sweet! He gave us his recs, checked in on us frequently and was accommodating. I also feel like he was serving a lot of tables so his service was stellar! Ambiance: 5/5 The place is tinnyyy but man I am obsessed with the interior. Its swanky without it being pretentious. Intimate feeling but can feel the atmosphere. Not sure what the noise level was like inside, we were outside (two tables on the sidewalk), but it seems like it could get a little loud. Parking: N/A - Its a prime spot on ventura, only metered so...can't really knock the place off that. Really excited to come back here! Hopefully in the near future!

Definitely make a reservation, weekdays are chill, but weekends get busy in the best way. The ambience is what really makes it stand out. It genuinely feels like you've stepped into Tulum the dim lighting, earthy tones, and that effortlessly elevated vibe that makes you want to stay all night. The food is solid (seriously, order the pasta), and getting there isn't a hassle with both valet and street parking options. I do wish they had something going on earlier in the week though, because a Monday night here is underrated and deserves more hype. Drinks are a highlight too. My go-to is the "Divorce Papers"--just trust me on that one. And the service? That's where they really separate themselves. Narek runs the place in a way you don't see often always present, always aware, making sure everything flows smoothly without missing a beat. It creates an experience that feels taken care of without being over the top. Overall, it's a true go-to right now. Great crowd, great music, and an atmosphere that keeps you coming back. Easily one of the best spots on Ventura right now !

It's a restaurant with an overall speakeasy vibe BUT is not dark and foreboding. Rather, its high ceilings, well spaced out tables, and appropriately lit dining/bar space has a welcoming, cool vibe! And the music to fill the space before the live music was well, my kinda music - vibey 80s/90s hip hop. On top of that, the STAFF - the folks we met on a Monday (senior citizen hour) night were incredibly kind and attentive. We did stay through the first set of musicians that performed and it was great. Loud, but not loud enough that me and my friend couldn't still talk. Now onto the food. A nice surprise, considering this is a music joint! That bread was solid. The side portions decent - mushrooms and broccoli were fine. The steak was a generous size, cooked appropriately medium rare, and came with a unique side of bone marrow salsa. That was a nice, interesting touch. Was it the BEST food I've ever had? Not exactly, BUT it was the best food as part of a music joint, in the Valley. So the 5 star rating is really for the OVERALL experience.

You throw a birthday in the mix and there's a little pressure to make this the right kind of evening. The vibes were certainly not absent. There was the tastefully low mood lighting, and of course, the tunes of a scattered jazz jam session. We get to our seats and are told the place was designed to heighten and maximize the patrons' listening experience, no matter where they were in the establishment. The menu wasn't overwhelming from a volume standpoint. It screamed a curated adventure through a brand of Americana that knew it had ethnic roots on different continents. That's a cool prospect to dig into but knew we weren't going to order the whole menu. My wife and I were still feeling like we had to get our very first selections right though. More pressure. We started with the Hokkaido Milk Buns (super recommended) and the Wagyu Tartare. I'm such a poor sucker for bakery buns from an Asian grocery store. 99 Ranch has a lot of my money because it. These were perfectly fresh and airy. The sweet butter was a good sidekick, but with the right bread that sits with your soul, you never really need much for it. The tartare did taste as advertised. And more sexy bread in the toast! In this case, the toast was the sweet butter. You didn't need it. You could have spooned the tartare like it was ice cream, but you certainly didn't mind the brioche slices tagging along. There were our mains: Dungeness Crab Campanelle, and the Braised Lamb Pasta. We went back and forth about ordering a side of Roasted Carrots, but you only have one specific birthday to start your mid-thirties, so I opted for it. If you've been reading my reviews, you know I don't go out of my way for seafood. I'll have a bite. I'll be as openminded as a foodie should, but it won't be invited to my cookout. I didn't hate the campanelle. The miso and aji Amarillo peppers gave this a really familiar tuna casserole profile. My wife asked me not to tell anyone that. But it brought me back to my childhood, where even then, I was not crazy about seafood, but I was mature in my thinking enough to know the casserole was going to feed me. If you observed us that night, I might've snuck a couple of forked noodles to taste the roasted almonds and some of the uni residue with the cheesy tones. The lamb pasta was the richest, fullest flavor I've had for pasta in a while. The lamb was abundant and savory and lean, providing such a serious punch when supported by the padano. It was a smidge creamy, and greasy - optimally speaking. It had such a dark and cheesy-bitter personality. The charred green onions probably were in the mix more than I anticipated. Roasted root vegetables are just very satisfying potatoes, at the end of the day. The carrots ate more like fun, herbaceous fries, showered in a vinegar concoction. Loved it. The chumichurri and togarashi spices aligned for a peppery bite. The vinegar did give the carrots a pickled skin so it was helpful for cutting through the brightness of the crab campanelle and the boldness of the braised lamb. Verse took the pressure on the night and gave us food baby diamonds. I'd say we're encouraged to check out more of the supper club scene after our visit. If the bar was set at any place, it was for the sensibility of how the music pairs with the food. The strings and the particular pitter-pat on the drums kept us going. It kept us talking. It kept us eating.
