The food is hot. And great. The service by Juan (he was serving the tables as needed) was friendly and professional and helpful. I'm giving this review "ok" because of the bar service. This is our 2nd visit (pervious was about a year ago) and the same thing happened at the previous visit. patrons order at the counter. Handed a lighted buzzer. And then find a table. I asked the counter how do we get our bar drinks. They said it would be brought to our table. We received our appetizer. I went to the bar and asked about our cocktails. She said she'd bring them when they were ready. We finished our appetizers and had our entrees and still no cocktails. I asked the man who brought our food, as he was taking our buzzer. He said the bartender would bring the drinks...... We were over half finished with our entrees before the bar tender brought our beer and mojito. there was one gentleman at the bar and the bartender was chatting with him a lot. This is a problem. When patrons order a bar drink it should be served promptly, as other restaurants do. This happened on our last visit also. We expect bar drinks with or before the appetizers, not AFTER we have finished most of our entrees. The food is great. Hot fresh great. its unfortunate they can't get this issue corrected. read more

Today is my 33rd birthday & I was craving some southern comfort food. I will say that they delivered it in terms of food & service. I decided to get their southern fried chicken with green beans & mac & cheese. The chicken was fantastic, I was told that it'll be a 15-20 min wait because they make it to order & I do not regret on waiting for it. Wow, it came out piping hot, the batter was seasoned nicely with a peppery/salty kick to it. The chicken was crispy on the outside & moist on the inside. The green beans were above standard but it didn't knock my socks off. I was expecting for the bacon to add some smokiness to the green beans; but it didn't. The mac & cheese was solid, it was creamy/cheesy just the way I like it. At the end of my meal I got a chance to speak with the assistant GM (George). He was very helpful, welcoming & he listened to my feedback about the food. I also want to mention that the entire staff was friendly & accommodating. I appreciate the cashier for the free drink. This place has a diner feel to it but it also has a modern look to it as well. I boxed up what I couldn't finish & what's crazy is that when I got home the chicken was still warm. Overall, it was an awesome experience & I can't wait to come back to try their chicken fried chicken. Tip: they have an ice cream machine & it's complimentary. I have never been to a restaurant quite like this. You order at the counter, and go fill your own drink (unless you get beer or wine) but from that point on it turns into almost a full service restaurant. It has a very lovely country vibe with a nice bright and clean dinning area that is very comfortable. We started with onion rings probably best ever had. They were huge, made from scratch and not over breaded. Every item we got was made from scratch. For our entrees we got chicken fried chicken with jalapeños gravy with Mac and cheese (the best) and a Cole slaw which was phenomenal. My husband got the chicken fried steak with jalapeño gravy and cream corn (out of this world) and creamed potatoes. The jalapeño gravy is not spicy just excellent flavor and not a heavy gravy. We also got banana pudding which was amazing. Then we realized they have soft self serve ice cream for everyone of all ages. This was so much an amazing place we also went back our 3rd night in town and once again they knocked it out of the park. You really can't go wrong with this place. They have a large variety of the things on the menu and seem to do everything well. If you're craving chicken fried steak, tacos, burgers, salad, etc this is the place for you. On this visit, I had the chicken fried chicken (jalapeno gravy on the side) with mashed potatoes and fruit as my 2 side items. These may have been the creamiest mashed potatoes that I've ever had in my life! The chicken was great. Easy parking. Quick & friendly service. This is good spot in Katy with a family food vibe. Went around 6 pm on a Sunday, was not really crowded. When you walk in you order your food, they have a bar and also wine. Started with the appetizer, the fried onion rings were nicely seasoned and not a lot of breading, fried pickles were also good and nicely seasoned. They service with ranch and not sure of the other sauce but not to my liking. Chicken wings were cool not crunchy like I normally eat them. The chicken fried chicken was very good, wasn't sure how it would be paired with the jalapeño gravy, not to strong or overpowering. Mash potatoes and Mac and cheese were on point. Mia's Table is a very cute little cafe. The prices were on par for the area. I wasn't crazy about the food. My chicken strips were slimy inside. This usually happens when breaded foods are fried at too high temperature. The outside is crispy, but the inside was mushy and slimy. Also, the black eyed peas had a weird spice. My boyfriend and I both weren't fans. He ordered the fried chicken. It takes about 25 minutes, but it's supposed to be worth it. The first two pieces were so-so, but he said the third piece was amazing and completely worth it. The employees were very friendly and the restaurant was clean. Worst take out experience ever. My wife ordered the food and when I went to pick up they asked me to wait in my car. 30 min later since no one came out. I went in and they tried to hand me cold food. Apparently it was ready when I got there and didn't ever bring it out. Never will I order there again. You guys know a chain restaurant for yelpers isn't the first go. However, this spot really gives you a selection and variety of all different types of food. I wanted to try the traditional cheeseburger cooked medium with fries. Their fries were okay, but the burger was pretty dang good! The best chicken fried steak I've ever had. If you are in the Katy area, I highly recommend dining at Mia's Table. The inside of the restaurant reminded us of an old fashioned diner. I decided to order the Chicken Fried Steak Platter, and as my 2 sides I chose the mac & cheese and creamed corn. Wow, this was delicious! The chicken fried steak itself was the highlight of the meal. The breading was super crispy, and I really appreciated how it didn't feel overly greasy. The jalapeño cream gravy on top was so so good. I would describe it as being more rich and flavorful than spicy. The mac & cheese was very creamy, and I really enjoyed the corn as well. My mom ordered the chicken tortilla soup, and she said it was one of the best versions of this dish she's had. There was a lot of chicken included, and the avocado was a nice touch. The biggest surprise for us was the free ice cream. We were each offered vanilla ice cream in a cup or cone (I chose the cone) after our meal. The ice cream was soft serve, similar to what you might find at a fast food restaurant. I am a huge fan of vanilla soft serve, so this was the perfect ending to a delicious meal. Hubby had patty melt w/fries. 10/10 - Chicken Fried steak...crispy, tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned. 10/10 - green beans were just like what my momma's with bacon & onions. 9/10 - mashed potatoes were to creamy, like over whipped. I actually mistook them for gravy. They were good, just not what I'm used to. 8/10 - Jalapeño gravy was good, but I expected a slight kick. But I'm Serrano, habanero type a lady. 6/10 - Mac & cheese was alright. I've been making Mac & cheese for a long time, rue and several different cheeses. So it's hard to beat from any restaurant. 8/10 - Patty Melt was fresh, juicy and flavors were pretty on par for a petty melt, per huddy 8/10 - fried were good, but salty. Overall, we will return. We had chicken tacos , two cheese burgers, fries , plus chips and queso. The chicken tacos had marinated chicken breast that had great flavor with a nice cabbage covered with green tomatillo salsa. Yummy for lack of a better word. The burgers must have been good --my daughter and her husband raved about them and said we are coming back. The fries were perfect! I am very dissapointed in our most recent visit to the store. We ordered early and paid through Yelp and GrubHub. It said our order was ready at 5:30. In the past, when you arrive at the restaurant, someone comes out immediately to ask for your name and order information. They did not do that and I had to call in to let them know I was there. I called in at 6 and they said they were still waiting on half of my order. There was no reason given for the delay and no apologies, either. It is 6:30 now and we still do not have our order and have just been sitting here waiting. I ordered ahead knowing that I have two toddlers with me. I had to call twice before our order was delivered to the car to screaming kids and tons of other cars came and went. The second time they questioned if I made the order at the correct location and had to repeatedly ask for my name because they couldn't find my order. My guess was that they gave my order to another customer and had to remake the order. I felt bad for our delivery girl who ran around delivering orders nonstop, but it doesn't change the fact that I had to wait for so long to get our order delivered to us. An hour and a half between ordering and getting your food is ridiculous. read more
